The prophet Malachi wrote these words to the people of Israel. Even though this is directed to Israel, there are things in this book that ring true today. People marry and divorce. People give their leftovers to God instead of a proper offering. There are plenty of churches, but the spirit of God is not there. The true word of God is not being preached. But, we who truly believe can remain in hope! God is faithful to those who are wholeheartedly faithful to Him. This world is falling apart, but we can remain in hope because the Day of the Lord is coming! God will make all things new, and He will make all that is wrong right. Until that day, we cling to our faith in our Great High Priest, Jesus Christ, who came, lived, and died as the final payment for our sins. Thank You, Lord, for Your never-ending grace and mercy!
I've finished the Old Testament! This is my second time through the Bible, but my first time with TBR, and I have been so inspired. Cannot wait for the New Testament!

Yay! Second trip through with TLC!!! I never thought I would be able to read the bible all the way through and yet this plan has me on my 2nd trip! My goal is to continue to do it every year and grow more everytime! Thank you Tara, I'm growing more everyday.
I've read the old testament many times but, with TLC's help, this is the first time I didn't see an angry, punishing God, but rather an incredibly loving & patient God Who was willing to forgive & take His people back to Himself over & over & over again. Yes, He permitted them to suffer the consequences of their disobedience but He never forsook them altogether. He waited for them to realize how far from Him they had had roamed. Then He mercifully & lovingly gathered them back to Himself yet again. His loving kindness stood out far & above any temporary anger. Thank you, Father, for taking me back time & time again. No turning back. No turning back.
I finished the Old Testament! It has been an incredible blessing. Father has become so real. He has a plan for us, he never stops reaching out to us, he gives us hope and a future! I knew these things before but, now I realize it was head knowledge and now I know in my heart, in my soul, that these things are true. I cannot even describe this wonderful transformation. I love the picture in Malachi 4:2 of the healing that brings pure joy,..."for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall."
My first time & I finished the Old Testament using the Bible Recap it has blessed my life so much, I only wish I had done this years ago, to really See how God has Loved & provided for us & just as the people have tried him we do the same but he still loves us & is willing to forgive. So looking forward to going thru the New Testament with the Bible Recap! God is Good & we are Blessed!! Can’t wait to do it again next year!! ♥️

We finish the OT with an inference to the Messiah, healing and ascending. Mal 4:2 refers to the “Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings.” The tassels on a rabbi’s garment were considered “wings,” and it’s those tassels that the woman with the flow of blood touched in faith to gain healing, and make her “clean.” And when Jesus ascended, He likely spread out His hands and garment in prayer, with those tassels as wings, and rose to Heaven, literally fulfilling Mal 4:2. What is it I need healing from? Not “fearing His name.” “Make up your mind to honor my Name,” (Mal 2:2), says the Lord. “Revere Me and stand in awe of My Name,” He commands (Mal 2:5). Fear of the Lord brings healing, hope, and comfort.
I think Malachi 3:6-18 is a such great transition into the New Testament, just the beautiful promises of God to continue to be merciful is amazing, we are so lucky to have such a kind a merciful God and I can’t wait to learn more about his grace in the coming days. Hooray! I finished the Old Testament. I loved the ending of the video today. He is where the Joy is!! I've learned that God is good and does what is RIGHT all of the time. This year has been very hard in "life" My grand daughter (36 weeks in womb) died, my mom died and now my daughter is having some concerns with her unborn (24 weeks). It is very small. But I know who is control and I don't need to doubt His love for these events. He knows what He is doing and I just need to trust him with life, not just my salvation.
Rev Pat has started a Bible study using the Bible Recap. We are doing a deep sea diving in the Word. We meet on zoom twice a month @5 am. We are still in exodus and loving it. Love Bible Recap and the questions. As Rev Pat says, “it’s one thing to know the stories but it’s another thing to be able to answer the questions. This morning we had I believe it was 15-16 women on zoom. Rev Pat Is calling the study JESUS Jammie’s and the Word, for we still have on our pajamas. Thank you for the Bible Recap
Thank God for TLC and for TBR. I’ve always wanted to read through the Bible but I’ve never been able to get past Genesis. I can’t believe I’ve made it through the Old Testament. I thought I knew God before but now I understand Him in a whole new light. His love and patience for us blows me away. He’s where the joy is!

I am on this day as I started early than Jan 1 2024. I need the "survived" shirt - TLC helped me through though. Sometimes I read the days chapters and it just dulled my brain and I was not "getting" it - then she explains it and I feel like I did not waste time reading it. I won't lie, there were some days where I read and just wanted it to be over, but I kept going. LOOKING FORWARD to the new testament as I love that part - of course. Thank you TLC.

I survived the Old Testament🙌🏽. I definitely fear the Lord he is so faithful. I love him so much and I want to grow closer to him he is where the joy is.
I need to remember to pray for the Holy Spirit to give me understanding, because I admit, I’m struggling. Some of these days of reading or listening to the Old Testament were so boring, and I feel like I got nothing out of it. I also need to remember to pray For God to reveal himself to me throughout these readings.
I kept saying to myself … exercise can be boring (even some healthy meals) but eventually the results of consistent, good habits show up ... we’re heading the right way, the “long obedience in the same direction” HE IS where the Joy is!
This is my first time to systematically go through the Old Testament. I'm 59. I see the Old Testament in such a different way now. It's October 13, 2024, and my wife and I are 13 days behind the plan. I'm so happy about that! We've been married for 38 years, and this is the first time we have undertaken a study like this together. It's been a challenging year, so only being 13 days behind is an amazing accomplishment. Pressing on, and confident we will be caught up by the end of the year. Have a blessed day everyone!
God doesn’t hate peoples but the things that are in opposition to Him. It’s important to remember this. It helps me to have more compassion for those who are living outside of His will. I want to always love like Jesus.
I love the explicit command to be faithful to the wife of your youth! It's hard to believe how pervasive infertility is in the Old Testament 😮 I'm glad Malachi echoes the truths found way back in Genesis about leaving our parents and cleaving to our spouse ❤
I discovered a love for the Old Testament a few years ago. Reading through it with everyone has been such a blessing. I’m excited for the New Testament and looking forward to starting all over again in January!
Yes!! I made it through the OT could not have done so in such a mindful way without TBR or TLC, thank you!! I have a deeper knowledge of the love, mercy, grace and pursuit that the Lord had for His chosen, His children. To be bolder in sharing His word, especially with those I love that are not followers. They joy for them to know Him and to be known by the Father. Can’t wait to get into the NT!
Reading the the old testament in chronological order has been so eye opening. It helps bring it all together and makes so much more sense! I'm grateful for The Bible Recap because there is so much I couldn't understand and it makes so much more sense. I'm definitely ready for the arrival of Jesus!
I've read the full old testament before but the Bible recap has helped me tremendously esp in trying to find God in each passage that we read. I learned so much about God's character, how patient He is with us, how He loves us when we are so undeserving. There were so many revelations I got about God that were so new to me.
I have learned more through this 2nd time of RECAP. I have fallen in love with my Lord more this year as I am seeing new things about Him. I am looking forward to the New Testament and completing my second complete reading of The Holy Bible with The Bible Recap. Thanks, TLC for how God is using the Recap Team and you to teach us. My third time through with TBR, and amazed that I can keep learning new things! Most importantly, that God is faithful!!! Even though this broken, sorrowful world is falling apart, we have His words that remain forever-He is true to His word, His promises, and His love for us!!! I’m learning that I have so much more to know about our amazing God and His unfailing love!💕🙏
My God Shot was Gods statement that He doesn't change in Malachai 3:6. God does not change! That is so nice for us as humans to have a reliable, steady and unchanging God. He is loyal and acts exactly as He promised, even if people sin and do not remain loyal to Him. God doesn't change, He is the rock we can rely on. No matter what humans do, we know exactly what God expects of us and we can ALWAYS come bact to Him with true repenting hearts. God, change my heart so that I long to please You, my Heavenly Father. You know my heart, it is weak and wavers. But You are my rock and You know how to mold my disobedient heart into one that longs to please You alone. Malachi 3:6 NIV “I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed."

This is my second time going through the chronological bible and to be honest its going to take a minute for me to really focus and take a deep dive in the Old Testament, which is one of the reason I took this approach. I am more at ease with the New Testament, my only hang up is understanding some of the parables so I can't wait for TLC's recap and breakdown.🥰
This was a brief reading, but it was very profound. I am so happy that I made it through the Old Testament and 75% of the way through the bible. I learned that God is super complex just like we can be at times. But that is not a bad thing. 10/16/24

🎉 Our DGroup started 8 days after y'all with 10 ladies which dropped down to 3! We met on line for convenience and will double up to finish by the end of the year. This is the first through the Bible reading plan that i stuck to, hardly missing a day. Tara's recap helped put everything into context historically and spiritually. Thank you! What struct me is God's faithfulness to Israel. All this in light of what is happening to them now. I pray they turn their hearts to Yahweh and Yeshua. I pray God will rise up an army and defeat their enemies. I pray for the victims captured for mercy and comfort. Lord so much evil but I pray it will be used for good.🙏🏻

I love the explicit command to be faithful to the wife of your youth! It's hard to believe how pervasive infertility is in the Old Testament 😮 I'm glad Malachi echoes the truths found way back in Genesis about leaving our parents and cleaving to our spouse ❤
I discovered a love for the Old Testament a few years ago. Reading through it with everyone has been such a blessing. I’m excited for the New Testament and looking forward to starting all over again in January!

I have a deeper knowledge of the love, mercy, grace and pursuit that the Lord had for His chosen, His children.
To be bolder in sharing His word, especially with those I love that are not followers. They joy for them to know Him and to be known by the Father.

Reading the the old testament in chronological order has been so eye opening. It helps bring it all together and makes so much more sense! I'm grateful for The Bible Recap because there is so much I couldn't understand and it makes so much more sense. I'm definitely ready for the arrival of Jesus!
I've read the full old testament before but the Bible recap has helped me tremendously esp in trying to find God in each passage that we read. I learned so much about God's character, how patient He is with us, how He loves us when we are so undeserving. There were so many revelations I got about God that were so new to me.
I have learned more through this 2nd time of RECAP. I have fallen in love with my Lord more this year as I am seeing new things about Him. I am looking forward to the New Testament and completing my second complete reading of The Holy Bible with The Bible Recap. Thanks, TLC for how God is using the Recap Team and you to teach us. My third time through with TBR, and amazed that I can keep learning new things! Most importantly, that God is faithful!!! Even though this broken, sorrowful world is falling apart, we have His words that remain forever-He is true to His word, His promises, and His love for us!!! I’m learning that I have so much more to know about our amazing God and His unfailing love!💕🙏

My God Shot was Gods statement that He doesn't change in Malachai 3:6. God does not change! That is so nice for us as humans to have a reliable, steady and unchanging God. He is loyal and acts exactly as He promised, even if people sin and do not remain loyal to Him. God doesn't change, He is the rock we can rely on. No matter what humans do, we know exactly what God expects of us and we can ALWAYS come bact to Him with true repenting hearts. God, change my heart so that I long to please You, my Heavenly Father. You know my heart, it is weak and wavers. But You are my rock and You know how to mold my disobedient heart into one that longs to please You alone.

This is my second time going through the chronological bible and to be honest its going to take a minute for me to really focus and take a deep dive in the Old Testament, which is one of the reason I took this approach.
I am more at ease with the New Testament, my only hang up is understanding some of the parables so I can't wait for TLC's recap and breakdown.🥰

This was a brief reading, but it was very profound. I am so happy that I made it through the Old Testament and 75% of the way through the bible. I learned that God is super complex just like we can be at times. But that is not a bad thing. 10/16/24

Thank you for helping me get through the old testament for the first time. Started and stopped several times through the years.
First time finishing the OT. Thank you Tara-Leigh , this was such an additional resource to my Petra Bible Reading Plan.
🎉 Our DGroup started 8 days after y'all with 10 ladies which dropped down to 3! We met on line for convenience and will double up to finish by the end of the year. This is the first through the Bible reading plan that i stuck to, hardly missing a day. Tara's recap helped put everything into context historically and spiritually. Thank you! What struct me is God's faithfulness to Israel. All this in light of what is happening to them now. I pray they turn their hearts to Yahweh and Yeshua. I pray God will rise up an army and defeat their enemies. I pray for the victims captured for mercy and comfort. Lord so much evil but I pray it will be used for good.🙏🏻
