    I'm currently taking AP art and we haven't gotten started up on all the concentration craziness atm. It is slightly different from past years and my teacher isn't 100% sure how it works yer, but they're trying to find out. What they did I believe was take out breathe and add a bit more to concentration. I'm not quite sure how it works either lol. At least I have sort of an idea of what my theme will be 😅

      Damely Espinosa yeah it’s crazy how they got rid of breadth but I think it’ll be cool to focus on concentration! personally I enjoyed working on concentration the most haha but I hope this vid helped a bit at least :) good luck to you!

    They took out breath and upped the concentration to 15 pieces! My theme is the universe in equilibrium and opposites in balance! Thanks for the tips!

      also concentration this year doesn’t have to be 15 finished pieces some could be the experimentation process aka process pages it’s really different

    how did you do the plexiglass piece it’s AMAZING! like where did you get the supplies, and is it layers of the glass with acrylic then sandwiched together? also you’re so talented omg

    • @jacmango
      @jacmango  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Katrina Warren thank you! yes, I did layer 3 sheets of plexiglass and painted each individual layer with acrylic paint! i also taped the edges of the pieces together and covered the tape in gold paint. I got the plexiglass from my ap class, but i’m sure you can find it online :)

    How long is your art class? Did you do your pieces in class more or at home? My art class is 45 minutes long and I'm really struggling creating pieces in that time amount.

    • @jacmango
      @jacmango  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      my art class was about the same time, so I had to work on a lot of pieces at home and I also took classes outside of school. it was also my last period class so we were able to stay after school to work on the pieces esp when the deadline was approaching and I also ended up skipping my other class to mat my pieces the day of the exam.... however! if you plan out your pieces and use your time wisely I'm sure you'll be fine (I wasted a lot of class time so I had to rush), plus the portfolio this year is smaller. good luck!! let me know if you have more questions, i'm glad to help! :)

    Im taking ap art rn and i think we still have concentration and breaths but they are called different names but they really only lowered the amount and we do also have to send some of our best pieces out as well so its not that different. And im doing the 2d portfolio

    I’ve been watching a lot of these videos because i signed up to take ap studio my junior year and i’m beginning to think i should drop it because i don’t think i’m a good enough artist. I don’t have any experience with painting and i can’t draw from my imagination, i have to have a photo to reference.

    • @jacmango
      @jacmango  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      planty p the exam may seem daunting, but you can always just take the class to work on your skill without taking the exam. it may also help to continue taking the class into senior year which is what I did and personally it helped me a lot :) also, when making my pieces, i always use a reference photo even for the imaginative ones and there’s nothing wrong with needing to use a reference! we all start somewhere and don’t let these thoughts hold you back!

    im currently taking AP art and i have a question . so the concentration as what they call runs around only ONE specific theme for all 12 drawings or we can pick different themes for each and what did u use to take pics of ur drawings to
    upload them

    • @jacmango
      @jacmango  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeneen Katri yeah for the concentration, it’s focused on a specific theme and it also focuses on the development of the pieces. I mainly used my phone to take pics of my work and I recommend using apps to enhance the quality of the image! :)

    Hehe, I’m 200 iq. I signed up for the ap art portfolio but I don’t have the class and I got until may to come up with 20 new art pieces (I’ve never completed any in my life) I’m literally in intro art, it’s my last year in high school and I have zero art credits so far. I’m doomed.

    • @jacmango
      @jacmango  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marria laLA I don’t quite remember but I believe it is so that they know that those pieces are yours when they receive them (since we receive the ap sticker booklet)

    I have a question does college board already know what your concentration is about or do you have to tell them? Because i want to change my concentration piece (celebrations) to something different because i have a hard time thinking about what to paint.

    • @jacmango
      @jacmango  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi! when you are uploading the images on their website (which is around the time of exams), there is a section where you write about your topic (so basically you inform them as you do the online submission & your portfolio should be completed by then). so don't worry about sticking to the same concentration! it's normal for it to change throughout the year ! :)

    Is there a certain requirement to be able to take AP art?

    • @jacmango
      @jacmango  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Zoe Johnson it depends on your school; for mine, you had to be an upperclassman to take the class, however, I think as long as you talk to the teacher before about taking the class, i’m sure that you’d be able to!
