Great vlog Maria, this painting is sooo good. The people are striking in their realism, and the darkness of the window is ethereal. I hope you can get it into a show when you're finished. Stay refreshed and thanks for helping me do the same thing. Back to work Dave Dave from Canada
That new piece of studio furniture is pretty slick! It looks even better with Utrecht Artist's Colors in the drawer, even if we do say so ourselves! ;-)
I really enjoy seeing your art-progress and progress to painting. Seeing you organizing your art books made me curious. What are your favorite art books and how do you use them as a reference. How do they influence your work. I would love to see a video on that.
I'm so glad you're enjoying the painting progress! I really enjoy books that have a collection of work from and essays about particular artists. They can influence my work visually and provide ideas for resolving a painting, but I also just learn a lot about the connection between artists and their work, their processes, etc. I have been planning to do a video on art books and books I like in general! Still need to get to that 😅
I love this video- from your art style, music, aesthetic, personality and video quality. This is motivating me to get back into art next year🌙💐What can do you use to vlog?
Good move picking up a tool cart for your supplies, it looks so clean in white. The painting’s coming along nicely too, I’m looking forward to seeing you finish it! Seeing you paint and clean and have fun doing so is the motivation I need to finish some of my own pieces, thanks for that ;) All the love, T.
Right! I'm obsessed with the cart :) and thank you, I hope you guys don't mind how long I spend on paintings. I'm not sure if it gets boring at some point. Good luck with your art pieces!!
@@mariasisul take your time, don’t give in to social media expecting you to finish a painting every week. I like to see other people take their time, enjoying the process,... that’s what has drawn me to your videos as well, it makes me feel normal for not producing artworks every single day. Thanks a lot!!
Is there anything more satisfying than organising and re-organising your art studio?...I DON'T THINK SO!! 😂 You've gone and inspired me to do mine...again 😊 Seriously though that drawer set up! WOW, holds so much. I have an Alex drawer and was considering another for all my supplies but now (drooling) 😁🤪 Loving the work in progress, Maria ❤
Organizing the studio is a 10/10 experience always 😂 a happy space makes all the difference. Alex drawers are great! I'm biased now though and definitely recommend a tool box style work bench or cart 😁 thanks Melissa!
My first video of yours and I feel a kinship. I also went to school for design, but ended up down the artist path. Funny how that happens. Lovely to see your process 💜
Thank you Julia! I'm so happy to hear that you felt a closeness. Sometimes we have to test things out to know where we really want to be, don't we. :) glad you're here.
I loooveee your video! Im glad Ive found you! do you paint with oil painting? Very interesting this box that you put your paint and put it back in the drawer 😊
Love your setup and your work! I’m in the (slow) process of organizing my studio as well. I use an iPad for reference photos/videos and I love that stand that you have for your tablet. Where did you get it? Thanks!
Hey Maria Your work is really amazing. I want to know which colour you are using in this. The art piece you are creating is absolutely fantastic and your way is too lovely. Keep it up.👌
Thank you so much. I usually use a split primary palette with a few additions of burnt sienna, grey and Paynes grey. The paint is mostly Utrect acrylic colors. The blues were a mix of light phthalo blue, and light blue violet.
@@mariasisul Thanks for replying my question. Well literally I didn't understand exactly you say about shades . I'm not professional but I love to learn more and more from videos and pictures. Thanks for your time, Really good to talk to you. With love Aakriti 🤍.
If the black foam mat in your (toolbox) organizer begins to warp, it may be because of chemicals. Go to a home improvement center and get some cheap indoor/outdoor carpet with two-sided tape to hold it in place. Keep up the good work and congratulations on your success!
Wow, that painting is coming along quite nicely! Those three people look so life like, you half expect them to start walking down that side walk. Question for you: that white box with the red top in which you keep your palette fresh. I have one too and have used it for oils. How well does it keep your acrylics from going dry? Do you spray some water on the paint before you close the lid? Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! The figures are two of my sisters and one of my brothers so I'm trying to do them justice 😁 My sta-wet palette is great, underneath the paint is a sponge that keeps the palette paper moist. This plus a good quality paint with the right consistency can be okay in the box for a week. I tend to refresh the paint more often than that though as I run out. Honestly the paint can stay workable for even longer but to avoid mold or smell it's better to keep it too a week I'd say. But I'm not spraying any water on. A Utrecht heavy body acrylic works well, liquitex is too runny to leave it in there for long and golden's acrylic brand gets too stiff and pastey.
Thank you for answering my query. There are a lot of things I had not thought of: using a sponge, Utrecht heavy duty acrylics etc. Sounds good. I'll give it a try. My studio is not well ventilated in the Winter for oils so I'm planning to switch to acrylic. Cheers.@@mariasisul
There are a lot of variables, but a little bit of experimenting and you'll figure out what works best for you! Oh and I recommend the Masterson sta-wet sponge and palette paper from the same brand. Just wet paper towel is a cheaper alternative but I haven't tested that yet. Also a slow drying thinner to keep on hand could be good. I don't find it necessary usually but it depends on your paint. I think that's all the advice I got :)@@TionneSolusar007

What is it women have about cleaning , organizing and putting here rather then there? It can drive a man crazy🤪❗️
Organization has a lot to do with someone's spatial cognition skills
Very unartistic! Most artists and their studios are a mess, aren’t they?
Some can be, depends on the artist I suppose! This helps me work, cheers 😁
