@@maxypooooooo When the Alternate that took Adam at the end has the monologue, he says when Adam looks in the mirror he sees the monsters from his bedroom all those years ago. When he brings up baby Adam, he speaks about him like he's not talking to the present Adam. Then just as he's cut off by woman, he was about to tell him that he's "Not the real you."
@@peptobismol6140 He's been an Alternate his entire life. But while he's lived as a human, it seems that when he is of free will, he opposes the will of Gabriel and wants to stop him.
Thatcher isn't dead, but there is an alternate of him, stalking him. Thatcher feels immeasurable guilt because he knowingly abandoned Weaver in a house where an alternate was, so he's probably just holed himself up at home, drowning in guilt. Thatcher called for backup when he fled. Looks like the alternate that is copying him called it off, truly leaving Weaver to die. The alternates were originally coming in through the TVs, so that's why Dave still having one is a big deal. 6 is an alternate Adam released into the world as a child; 6 on the TV was called Stanley, who told children how to "imagine friends" into reality. Adam was abducted by the alternate and, when Adam's mother found he was gone, she hung herself.
You are missing some things- The Adam we know is an alternate who replaced the real Adam. He was put there by the intruder (the Stanley guy/ hood guy/6) but Adam doesnt remember he is an alternate. Being an alternat is why he says bad things to Evelyn/ is oddly emotionless about Jonah/ doesnt have friends / is so interested in following them Thatcher and Dave hadnt been killed yet because they were actually helping the alternates by the video editing stuff. What i find super cool is that Dave's friend / Gabriel was actually IN CHURCHES disseminating that type of retoric and we didnt even know he was actually working so closely in his plan.
@@GB_Rishad i think she saw the doc report and figured it out her baby was gone and that adam was an alternate, that's why it shows a woman reading the doctor's report Edit nope sorry That's evelyn Idk lol
A clue-in for Jack: Adam is the protagonist of Mandela Catalogue Vol. 2. He was the one who went into basement for the "cat alternate". He is the one who's mother did "suici*e" at the sight of her lost infant. He let the "friend" from the TV in. He was the one who saw the intruder in his home. Thatcher is the protagonist of Mandela Catalogue Vol. 333. He was the one who got-got by the CGI alternate. Presumed dead by police because their alternate was found.
He doesn't care enough to actually try and understand the story. He's just reacting to this because he knows it will get him views. He doesn't give a care about what's actually going on. Watch, when Vol. 666 or Vol. Finale or whatever comes out, all the time he's not being scared will be him saying stuff like "Wait, what's happening? Who are you? None of this makes sense, awe geez the writing was so much better back in Vol. 2..."
@@hubdweller9969 i mean tbf jack does play hundreds of games hes obviously not going to remember everything esp where the episodes are spaced out by months, plus hes not gonna spend a few hours rewatching mandela catalogue stuff before recording a vid for a new episode 😭 its almost as if its a content creators job to upload videos for views
@@hubdweller9969 I mean, there's not many views to get honestly. It's been 11 hours since posting and it's only at 300k+. It seems like a lot, but considering his average video gets 1M+ or sometimes more, this one isn't doing that well. I've seen videos he's posted within the hour get more views. If he wanted a lot of views, he would probably play a recent release popular game. Also, it's understandable for him not to remember the lore. He has ADHD, and I know from personal experience it causes memory issues. Especially in the event of, like he said, long gaps between something. When I go back to watch something, I have to start from the beginning because I forget what happened. Plus, he's really busy and it's that hectic holiday season. It doesn't mean he doesn't care or he's greedy, it just means he's pretty normal.
For me, the best part was Jonah Marshall's memorial video, where he's seen speaking with his alternate (which he thought were voices in his head) next to the car where he died. The alternate slowly morphing into him (in Vol. 333 we learned that they can do that, instead of killing the person and then transforming into them), repeating the same phrases he said a while earlier, and Jonah going "GET OUT OF MY HEAD". Top notch content, top notch horror. Also, fuck that closet creep.
@@Byrdffv No?? That was so clearly Jonah, the alternate was taunting him the exact same way in vol. 333, he just didn't die immediately like we thought.
21:29 This has the same energy as seeing a spider disappear after you run to grab a shoe. Just pure panic at the idea of something wandering around your house that you don't want there.
One of these days, Alex is actually going to put a loud jumpscare in one of these and simultaneously kill his entire audience of heart attacks. Edit: I fucking know. 50 other people have told me.
Thatcher is 100% a My Chemical Romance fan. I remember those days, and he does indeed talk exactly like how the Emo kids at my school did. Man. 2009 was a crazy year.
I love how the best combat with alternates is just don't be afraid, which for those who have read or know the Bible, angels always began with "Be not afraid" it so amazing how Alex inputs these amazing things, and that's exactly what Thatcher does in the closet scene, he is still, non-reactive, quiet, and most important not afraid of the closet alternate.
That is an excellent detail that I feel is often missed. The alternates aren't JUST killing people; They are making people kill themselves. He knows they want to toy with him, not just kill him, so he just endures their presence like an extremely creepy housemate.
It also goes back to the original episode with Jonah and Adam. Adam walks into the room with the alternate and, although he encounters it, he escapes alive and unharmed as he was unafraid and sought it out. Jonah, who feared for his life, ran, but didn’t anticipate that the alternate would still be able to attack him because of the technology he had with him, and he ended up dying.
I love the little lore details that get sprinkled throughout the series. Alternates being unable to respond accurately to emotional stimuli is one of the ways to spot one if the physical characteristics don't give it away, and Adam is described as having just that issue in this episode.
The problem with Thorne Baker is that he's supposed to play an ex police officer who is middle aged, yet Baker himself looks like an emo dude in his early 20s
Alternates are more like Shapeshifters/Doppelgängers than something that possesses people. Just because you see an alternate of someone doesn’t mean the person the alternate is imitating is dead/gone
I think it's funny that one of the aliases the alternate is going by is "Stanley". Like, "6" is cryptic, "The intruder" is intimidating and then there's "Stanley", which sounds like the name of your neighbour asking to borrow your lawnmower.
I love the use of 3D animation for this. 3D models of faces can often be uncanny when trying to resemble human faces, but they use this to their advantage really well.
30:42 OHHHHH THAT CHANGES A LOT OKAY For anyone who didn't catch exactly what was happening, that was Adam saying (I'm on mobile so I can't replay and type, so forgive me for not being 100% accurate): "I never said it was stupid! I didn't say that! This computer, it's messing with my words!" Earlier, we saw what message Adam is referring to. Adam calls this entire thing about making a video to honor Jonah "stupid" over online chat with Eveline. In fact, Adam has been upsettingly uncaring about the entire situation with Jonah. Apparently Jonah was his best friend (or, well, Adam was Jonah's best friend), and Adam seems to just not care at all that Jonah died. In fact, it's implied that Adam and Jonah were out getting footage when something happened, and Adam just... made his way back to the car and left without Jonah or getting help. So Adam didn't just lose his friend, he was there when it happened, but seemingly doesn't care _at all_ and is annoyed that Eveline is upset and making him at least put something together to tell their viewers he's gone. But then we get this. Adam is very upset, and he's screaming at his computer, _"I never said it was stupid, stop messing with my words!"_ Adam _never said it was stupid,_ and he's very upset about that specific part of the distortion. This means Adam _doesn't think making a video for Jonah is stupid._ Also, not only is whatever is in Jonah's computer sending its own messages to those Jonah's trying to talk to, we can hear it _audibly_ mimicking Jonah's voice, and beginning to mix and match his words into different orders. We know some types of anomalies can mimic people in different ways, be it in voice or appearance (they're not always perfect, ie the very distorted form of Thatcher we saw). We also know anomalies can traverse through things like screens and mirrors. It seems an anomaly is inhabiting Adam's computer, and is in the process of learning to mimic him. But this is _huge,_ because it means that we don't know what was actually Adam or not. The voice we hear is Adam very obviously caring about this whole thing with Jonah, and whatever entity that's fucking with him changing the information other people receive. And because it's voice mimicking, that means even the phone call with Eveline where Adam was cruel and uncaring could possibly have been the result of the entity mimicking and distorting Adam's words, and not what Adam was actually saying. Hell, even Adam deleting Jonah's contact might not have actually been Adam's choice. A lot of the video up to this point is characterizing Adam as a _massive_ piece of shit. But these few seconds right here tell you that we don't actually know _anything_ about Adam, because everything we have seen and heard might not have even _been_ Adam at all. I just love when so much story telling is done without outright saying so. Adam was never described as uncaring, but his actions stick out as shockingly cold, and frequent enough for the viewer to begin to characterize him, to expect a certain level of disgusting apathy, which is _very_ strong characterization. And then, in a few seconds, without ever saying it outright, it tells us we have no fucking clue what's real in regards to Adam, that our very strong foundation of who Adam is is build on quicksand, that _nothing_ we think we know, we can claim to know. Which also sets up that subconscious alarm, and sets a precedent for the _entire thing_ - again, in mere seconds of audio - that the things we see can be lies without us knowing. If Adam's apathy wasn't even real, how do we know anything else we've seen is the full picture? How do we _actually know_ anything about what's happening? Before that audio, you'd say Adam thought the video project was stupid. But we didn't _know_ that. It wasn't _truth._ Which leaves you with the only thing you _can_ know for certain: _something is very, very wrong, and people are dying because of it._ This has been such a huge theme in the Mandela Catalogue, and it's done _so fucking beautifully._ You fear what you don't know, and the Mandela Catalogue has mastered making sure that all you _can_ know is that nothing, nowhere, and no-one is safe from a danger beyond comprehension. All you can know is _fear._ Edit* They're alternates, not anomalies. Whoops!
Also isnt that directly connected to where 2 guys where in a haunted house and one did go downstairs because of the cat sounds and other just drove away?
@@Scarde0 i think the alternate who was making the cat noises actually took control of adam and went outside of the house and back to his house or smt and jonah died because of the car stopping on the side of the road in vol.2. jonah probably died because an alternate killed him or smt idk cuz he screamed at the end inside of his car. maybe the alternate killed him through the car radio or dashcam idk i might not be correct
20:56 The worst thing is that it's said that alternates can't physically harm you but can just be there in the corner of your room and you can't really do anything about it, it's just horrifying for me to think about Edit: This aged.
that csn be both a good and a bad thing if you know they cant physically hurt you, you may feel safer sleeping you only get M.A.D if you dont want to hear what they tell you, but if you're interested in figuring it all out, im pretty sure that means you arent affected
Face Studio 2 seems to be a new gateway for Alternates. You're giving them a perfect representation of your face, so they wouldn't need to practice replicating it like before. Adam's "conversation" with his Alternate at 30:01 suggests that his mind was swapped with an Alternate, considering how he says "It's messing with my words" and "PLEASE JUST GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HEAD" (implying he isn't in control of his body), and the fact that the Intruder even says "But your skin is not your own. You're not the real you." A new race of Alternates has been created through Face Studio 2. These new Alternates can take control over your body at any time, and you'd be powerless to stop it. Now, all you'd be able to do is just sit in the passenger seat and watch as a monster roams the Earth wearing your face. Every time I think this series can't get any more terrifying, Alex always 1-ups the last entry in every way.
Wait what if Adam is like a perfect alternate like so perfect of a copy he does not even know he is an alternate, and so some of the alternates try to remind him
"The spirit created the skies above and the water below" *Jacksepticeye arises from the depths of the ocean* "Oh yeah look at those reflections baby!" This should become both biblical lore and Jacksepticeye Lore. Somebody add it to the bible and Jack's origin story.
he should do a really long stream where he watches everything in order, it'd probably help him with the lore. Also it'd be interesting to see him connect the dots and stuff
Jack being funny is awesome, but something he missed because of the edge humor is that the pile of files in 18:22 are ALL missing person reports. Every last one of them is a missing person, and the numbers he didn’t recognize are Mandela’s population (which is dropping by the thousands). Alex Kister’s work is awesome, and I would love to have seen Jacks reaction to that realization 😎
There’s one part in Vol. 4 that has completely stumped me, when Adam and Sarah break into the house, it says it’s July 14th, 11:17 PM for Event 1, when they’re going into the house, for Event 2, it’s July 15th, 12:46 AM, then Event 3, when they run from the house, it’s July 14th, 12:49 AM, it’s entirely possible it was an accident, but something makes me feel like it wasn’t
I noticed that too because July 15th is my birthday, but then it just went back to july 14th? I definitely don't think its a mistake, I want to know why he did it that way
I CANNOT get over the scene of the person in the closet. That shit was beyond creepy D: I love it and hate it at the same time. Also I love that these videos never have jumpscares. I applaud anything that can be scary without loud sounds and jumps.
Me too! I usually use the little scroll to skip past any extra spooks but right before the closet scene i missed i had a bowl of ceneral in my hand. The moment they popped up i yelped and threw cereal EVERYWHERE! At least my dog enjoyed some lol (it was non-chocolate cereal dw)
Alex needs to be brought in by some higher up horror related corporation because he's been able to construct this world, from the beginning, just through a shoe string budget.
Being quickly given access to everything can make for an unlikely masterpiece or a complete disaster due to quickly racking up budget and possible low returns due to bad marketing or the fact that his name isn't that popular in the movie scene. I would much rather see him start with this, keep going with the brand, do as he sees and get better and build up his own budget and maybe get some outside help later down the line to set everything right. He does have a knack for making you feel uncomfortable with his content though. He should definitely let his mind go wild with this series and try stuff out since that's what most others don't do, they try to stay in line with whatever someone else wants and that's the beauty of indie stuff overall, complete artistic freedom.
my theory about Adam, is that he is indeed an alternate, and the intruder aka Stanley replaced the original Adam as a child in the intruder alert video. the intruder in this volume says "do you remember my touch? (talking to the fake Adam) I cradled him in my arms my sweet boy (referring now to the original Adam) I took him away" this could mean that the intruder had stolen the original Adam through through the tv and killed him, (the "do you remember my touch" part could be referring to him snapping his neck or something), made an alternate of him and replaced the original. this is why he doesn't really know he's an alternate as he was raised and grew up as if he was a normal human, but would also explain why he seems so obsessed with the alternates and is not frightened but intrigued by them. this may also explain why he did not respond to any of the stress assessment videos. also if the report said that him not responding to the video could be due to a recent phenomenon in young children, that could mean that more and more people could be similar to Adam: alternates that don't know they are alternates. Adam could also be a sleeper alternate of some sorts, acting as a normal human but will be "awoken" in a sense to then fulfill his purpose as some important alternate or "the Mandela prophet" as the end of the video referred to him as. this could be the reason why phrases similar to something like "wake up" or "wake up Adam" or "open you eyes" are echoed through the series. i got my main theory idea from wendigoon so shoutout to him :)
My personal theory is that he might be turning into a new kind of alternate. The first alternate to start out completely human and slowly corrupt and control a host body. These things have a reason to abduct people and as they slowly wise up to the alternates games they will have to change it up to continue to grab more people.
@@imireton4766 not just him either. There must be a reason they are just watching Thatcher instead of just offing him already. I'm pretty sure those 2 are the main focus of the story, both hell bent on getting and understanding footage of the alters for wildly different reasons.
Maybe he's not an alternative but an agent against them he is to the intruder as the alternates are to The false shepard who pretends to be the angel gabriel knowing their fear gives him power so the intruder made sure Adam has no fear

Dude I can't believe I was tricked by the alter for like half the video. Such a genius decision to make Adam out to be careless about Jonah's death, to both pin us and Sarah against him, when in reality what was being sent to her wasn't from him at all. God this series is so good at manipulating the audience. Edit: Omg and I just realized, the intro literally sets this up! The Man, Adam, staring down at the woman, Eve. Sarah's scared and disturbed by how Adam reacts to Jonah's death, but just like how Adam meets the devil in the intro, it's because the devil/alternates are messing with what Adam's saying!
Usually it’s pretty hard for me to watch analog horror because i have schizophrenia and it triggers it but somehow when jack reacts to it it doesn’t trigger it so I’m thankful that he reacts to the full video because otherwise i wouldn’t be able to enjoy horror anymore
If you want a deep dive into the lore of these videos, I highly recommend watching Wendigoon’s analysis on them! He’s very chill and laid back while also adding in his own theories as to what’s going on.
Jack if jonah sounds weird it's because the original voice actor got fired. For those of you that haven't heard what happened and why he was fired here is the explination: Jonah (Gabe) was being mean to alex by saying that Alex's script was bad and that he himself could do better, bossing around the other people even tho he was only an actor. He had also mentioned that alex was going to kill himself (he is fine he hasn't actually going to do so) Jonah (Gabe) had also blackfaced.
I woud definetly prefer that, cause the voice acting and regular acting mixed with the iffy effects Kister uses kinda takes me out of the story way too much. Like that bad greenscreen and CGI windmill look absolutely hilarious and I can't take it seriously.
@@SquadPoopy yeah i think it’s not like bad given what Alex has to work with, but it would be really cool if he could transform his story with a higher budget production and team. probably wishful thinking but it would just be really cool to see this as a movie
Something that it seems like not everyone noticed is that, when fake thatcher is talking he knew the police’s way of talking, saying: this is lieutenant thatcher, call off all units.
So Adam and Jonah were from Mandela 2(I believe). Jonah left Adam at the house and was killed by an alternate on the side of the road. This claims that Adam walked until he found the car, left Jonah's body on the side of the road, drove home, and COMPLETELY fucking phoned it in for Jonah's death and memorial. Jonah, his best friend. I suggest watching Wendigoon's stuff on these, I think he's pretty much got it down pat. Especially since Mandela 4 drops so much info and lore and connections. Also Thatcher's cop partner, Weaver, died in the Mandela 3. Then the alternate turned into an exact copy of Thatcher in front of him and it fucked him up
Exactly what I was thinking, however I think an alternate is impersonating Adam mainly due to the computer scene where we can see him removing Jonah’s contact, it would make sense to do that if you felt no remorse for Jonah, it also already makes sense that the same alternate killed them both because in Jonah’s death scene the alternate talks about him leaving Adam to die.
I thought Jonah was the guy that went into the basement and watched the TV and died and Adam was his friend who left. Unless I'm remembering it wrong, but I feel like capturing paranormal activity was pretty central to that episode and that lines up with what I'm seeing in this episode.
@@oofskiiyt4660 remember what the intruder says. "I took him away...you're not the real you." He took Adam when he was a child, and was replaced by an Alternate who forgot what he is
Dude when the face said "Do your part in uploading your face to make a better society" or something like that, I think Sean nailed it with the whole AI thing.
Oh man! I forgot all about that haha. We would use that time to do something else or make popcorn and you go back into the room and ask whoever is watching with you “did it finish yet?”
For Jack's question at 6:00, not only did we had a VHS player and several dozen of tapes (mainly Disney and MGM stuff), but we had for a very brief time (not even 3 months) a Super8 player. The reason why we didn't kept this one longer than our VHS player was because the price for each Super8 movie was 4 times higher than a VHS movie back then (around 1997).
Im guessing super8 is video8 cassette's, smaller than both beta and VHS, first used exclusively for camcorders then later developed further by Sony for use in movies, yet they never had a very large market due to them being a lot more expensive yet offering no improvements on beta or VHS tech. One cool thing was a Walkman video player that was made so you could watch movies on the go though, because of the smaller size of the tapes they could make a pocket size video player.
Love how Jack calls out Thatcher for sounding emo, which he totally does, but then it's revealed it's probably because he's really not mentally well after being follow home by his alternate... and it appears his alternate is isolating him too, calling off the units and such.
30:00. I got the feeling that the creepy face that is explaining the Face Studios 2 isnt a 'glitch', or whatever. Its literally one of the creatures, that made, or helped make Face Studio 2 as a whole. A program they could use to collect faces... from the internet (kinda proving Sean right in his idea of how AI can be used to steal artwork too - once you are able to be 'seen' by the AI, your clothes, your face, your ideas - the AI can reproduce anything youve done, or make stuff you havent thought of yet). It shows that the creatures are learning more an more too. They took over the tvs, and now theyre coming for people thru computers, probably phones next, even radio with what happened with Jonah (or recorder, or whatever the voices and stuff were coming thru - maybe his camera).
This is DEFINITELY it. The face moves in a very weird way because the alternates have a hard time moving in a human-like way, so the face moves just like theirs do.
@@luciferschoice you say this but do you actually know which programs just use images indiscriminately without permission? do you actually have facts to back the "they all steal art" claim beyond a bunch of bored twitter mongers looking for something to be outraged about repeating it over and over. they certainly exist and art does get "stolen" (used without permission, the validity of the word stolen is kinda bunk in my opinion, its digital) but most of the big mainline AI image generators are at least kind of reputable. some can be fed source material by users which would cause art to make its way into the system without permission, but in a large way its just too vague and overreaching of an argument to hold any weight.

The flowers that seemingly cover up the screen when adam walks through the door in the memorial video he sent to sarah is him censoring jonahs corpes that was killed by the alternate that adam encounters in the house.
The guy who plays Adam (edit: Thatcher) does a pretty good job to be honest. Like the weird emo dialogue was a lot, but the part where he read his "letter" was pretty well acted.

This might be an unpopular opinion but I honestly preferred the way the videos were done in the beginning? The more we see of the alternates and the 3D effects kind of takes the horror elements out of it and what made it so unsettling in the first place? The way the faces were distorted in the original actually terrified me But the last 3 or so updates…it just doesn’t hit the same anymore
@@jigglybeez3682 I kinda like it. The 3D effects are kind of like that early 90s/2000s 3D animation, which seems to track with the improving technology over the years. It looks sorta janky but it's supposed to. I agree though that seeing more of the alternates does remove some of the mystery.
He really didn’t, the AI isn’t copying anything and putting public images into its “brain” isn’t stealing shit. The images are PUBLIC. Once an artist makes them available people can do whatever they want with it so long as it doesn’t break copyright. And the AI isn’t storing those images, it’s taking the data assigned to them and making new ones based off that. It’s also a very small minority that’s using this tech for personal profit that’s causing all people who use to get a bad rep.
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 AI machines do not know what is copyrighted and what is not. Yes, people can do whatever they want with public images as long as they adhere to copyright. The issue is that people can sneakily feed copyrighted images into AI, the AI knows no better. I've already seen plenty of examples of people feeding other people's copyrighted art into AI machines to make very similar images based on that. As a result, other people accidentally generate very similar images and are accused of violating copyright. Yes, it's a few people doing it, but those few people are literally poisoning the well.

Highly recommend watching Wendigoon's theory video on the Mandela catalogue if you have time! He hasn't put out a new one for vol 4 yet, but I think he does a really great job explaining the events and the timelines of the earlier videos and really does his research well.
I very rarely comment on videos but for this, I want to suggest and hope Jack checks out The Smile Tapes if he hasn't already. Very eerie and definitely right up Jacks alley!
Hi Seán! I highly recommend Wendigoon. He does a great job at giving a summary, theory and timeline of what happened! Definitely helped me a lot when trying to piece the thing together.
Besides, O'Brien is a character from the novel 1984 who appears to the protagonist as the only one who can give him a way out from the dystopian world, but who later betrays him and reveals he was just using him as a puppet. I definitely think Alex Kister got inspiration from that
I love watching Seán react to these. They are so good I can't watch them alone, I get too creeped out. Thank you for giving a laughing barrier to the scares!
Also still really like this reference to biblical figures- using them as a metaphor for the internet and communication networks. Moses, Mary, Gabriel- they "connected" people, traveled distances to connect with people, spread a message; just like TVs, networks, videos, the internet. They were the alternates early TVs, spreading the alternate's influence and tapping peoples' fear. Very creative.
I feel as if the references to biblical figures can be both metaphorical like you said but I believe that it's literal. Since we know the fake Gabriel was the first alternate whose to say the other biblical stories shown here were not apart of this
I'd HIGHLY recommend the two videos wendigoon had made on the mandela catalouge if you want a better insight into this story, im sure another is coming soon since volume 4 hasn't been covered yet
As silly as it may sound hearing him say that stuff, I believe Thatcher truly believes in what he’s saying. He left his partner, Ruth, to die, survived the events at the end of Volume 3 by shooting at the alternate, helplessly watched the population of his town basically crumble to oblivion over the course of years, and is basically being tormented by nightmares and ideas of a second, distorted, and malevolent version of him still being out there. He’s been in hiding and isolated for years at this point, alone with his thoughts and guilt, trying his best to fight a war he can’t win. So even if what he’s saying sounds like a “my chemical romance” stan, its definitely far from unjustifiable.
5:56 I was born in 2008, around the end of the analog age of technology. I remember the old CRT we had in Toronto, watching Mr. maker on public access television while looking up at the start through the large windows. The last time I remember using a VHS player, I watched the little mermaid on VHS, I remember we had a bunch of tapes, but I don’t know if we still have them, I think I watched Aladdin at some point on VHS, I really liked it as a kid.
Jumped out on my skin. Was looking at my second monitor when the voice in my right ear came on and scared the shit out of me. Literally turned around thinking someone was in the room with me then it moved to the other ear. Holy crap
The face in the correspondence part says,"a thriving society of followers of the true savior,a mess of tangled limbs danced around my bedroom,i held my breath and waited for it to stop,i was too scared."and then it just glitches out
Did anyone else notice at 7:45 that she said "don't forget to bring your paintbrushes" but the captions say "don't be AFRAID to bring your paintbrushes"
Hey jack, some stuff you missed and some insights. Thatcher was the cop from thr previous episode and he left ruth behind and his in his home for years. Adam was in the duo from a previous episode wherewere investigating a ladies house. It is now theorized that adam was always a alternate and that the real adam was taken by the intruder. There is a bunch of other things that you missed so i would recommend if you got the time, i would do a quick run down of the previous episode.
Alex did outstanding work making Volume 4! Compared to the previous volumes, this one seems to be more focused on explaining what is going on, even though there is a lot that is still uncovered or unknown. So far, we now know that Adam Murray is an alternate and have learned more about this "6" entity that is causing all this. I can't wait for The Mandela Catalogue Vol. 5!
The alters are not just in the interney. Afaik they have existed alongside humans ever since the earth was created (hencd the Michael Alter who tricked religious people into believing he was an angel). And ofc they are trying to grow. They are monsters, not animals or humans. They have zero function but to grow and devour. Throughout the series, they have gotten better and better at replicating human faces, and human voices. That face technology might have been created by them or one found it and corrupted it like one did to that TV in episode 1 and 2. It found it, realized it's potential and corrupted it to use it to copy humans better.
So people most likely d!e when they encounter an alternate, they whisper overwhelming knowledge to the victim, make them go mad, and k!ll themselves, and that causes the alternate chance to replace them. But if you look back at the video called " metaphysical awareness disorder " (M.A.D), You will know that there's a small percentage that survives it and Thatcher is one of them, so now we have alternate Thatcher and real Thatcher coexisting because he didn't get affected by M.A.D and still alive.
This reminds me of how people will donate DNA to ancestry sites. I heard a lawyer say they would never do that, because some of those companies don’t have a strict limit on what they can use your DNA for.. a scary thought.. haha but another great video. Thanks!
Hey Jack, while I definitely do recommend looking back at the previous mandela catalogue entries, I also HIGHLY recommend checking out Wendigoon's videos on this series. He does a damn good job of taking everything, explaining it, and putting it all into a cohesive timeline. Plus, he's probably out of anyone, other than Alex himself and maybe some other people working on the the series, in the know on some inside information than most people have on the series. So you get some serious (non spoiler) insight that you might not pick up on otherwise.

When he brings up baby Adam, he speaks about him like he's not talking to the present Adam. Then just as he's cut off by woman, he was about to tell him that he's "Not the real you."
And the pieces were there too!
So adam was an alternate the whole time in vol 2? Im confused
Very beautilfully put together. I appreciate it!👏
You are missing some things-
The Adam we know is an alternate who replaced the real Adam.
He was put there by the intruder (the Stanley guy/ hood guy/6) but Adam doesnt remember he is an alternate.
Being an alternat is why he says bad things to Evelyn/ is oddly emotionless about Jonah/ doesnt have friends / is so interested in following them
Thatcher and Dave hadnt been killed yet because they were actually helping the alternates by the video editing stuff.
What i find super cool is that Dave's friend / Gabriel was actually IN CHURCHES disseminating that type of retoric and we didnt even know he was actually working so closely in his plan.

A clue-in for Jack:
Adam is the protagonist of Mandela Catalogue Vol.
He needs a lot more clues but this definitely helps.

30:42 OHHHHH THAT CHANGES A LOT OKAY
For anyone who didn't catch exactly what was happening, that was Adam saying (I'm on mobile so I can't replay and type, so forgive me for not being 100% accurate): "I never said it was stupid! I didn't say that! This computer, it's messing with my words!"
Earlier, we saw what message Adam is referring to.
Adam is very upset, and he's screaming at his computer, _"I never said it was stupid, stop messing with my words!"_
Adam _never said it was stupid,_ and he's very upset about that specific part of the distortion.
It wasn't _truth._ Which leaves you with the only thing you _can_ know for certain: _something is very, very wrong, and people are dying because of it._
This has been such a huge theme in the Mandela Catalogue, and it's done _so fucking beautifully._ You fear what you don't know, and the Mandela Catalogue has mastered making sure that all you _can_ know is that nothing, nowhere, and no-one is safe from a danger beyond comprehension.
All you can know is _fear._
Edit* They're alternates, not anomalies. Whoops!
Just one small detail that should be changed. It was Sarah Heathcliff who requested the memorial video. Not Evelyn.
Also isnt that directly connected to where 2 guys where in a haunted house and one did go downstairs because of the cat sounds and other just drove away?

These new Alternates can take control over your body at any time, and you'd be powerless to stop it. my theory about Adam, is that he is indeed an alternate, and the intruder aka Stanley replaced the original Adam as a child in the intruder alert video. the intruder in this volume says "do you remember my touch?

Sean not being able to read "Awaken" is quite funny
Is it just me or dose Jacks audio commentary during the whole thing makes me feel so much better?
I agree. I’m watching this in the middle of the night and I’m regretting it lol
Yes a lot better I don’t think I could sit through the whole video alone lmao
100% agree!
That is exactly why I'm here watching. I couldn't watch this on my own tbh
For those of you that haven't heard what happened and why he was fired here is the explination:
Jonah (Gabe) was being mean to alex by saying that Alex's script was bad and that he himself could do better, bossing around the other people even tho he was only an actor. He had also mentioned that alex was going to kill himself (he is fine he hasn't actually going to do so)
Jonah (Gabe) had also blackfaced.
😬😬😬😬
😦
Maybe it was better for the alternates to have gotten him in hindsight-
Wow that’s fucked

@YeaMan Spell page right first.
I still don't believe Jonah is dead. He did not make a death sound and more so his body is never seen. Maybe he was "swallowed by a whale" for now
@@oofskiiyt4660 remember what the intruder says. "I took him away...you're not the real you." He took Adam when he was a child, and was replaced by an Alternate who forgot what he is
so fuckin creepy bro
the "look at those reflections baby" TOOK ME OUT SO BADLY 😂😂😂
Dude when the face said "Do your part in uploading your face to make a better society" or something like that, I think Sean nailed it with the whole AI thing.
Nothing was more frustrating than putting in a tape to watch and realizing someone didn't rewind it after they were done.
I got yelled at so many times that I always remembered at one point 😂
it was me. i always forgot to rewind 😭😭
Super8? Idk what that is, is it a betamax player or do they just fit the same description bc that's exactly the story of beta cassettes
Love how Jack calls out Thatcher for sounding emo, which he totally does, but then it's revealed it's probably because he's really not mentally well after being follow home by his alternate... and it appears his alternate is isolating him too, calling off the units and such.
mentally unwell people dont write edgy my chemical romance emo edgar allen poe monologues this isnt the 1800s
Thatchers character really really pulled me out of this one. It felt so childish.

It's how people use AI art.
@@LiaMakesContentWow Yes. More or less how the art was scraped (copyright and stuff).

Really glad to hear Jack say something about AI art since it’s such an important subject, he explained it well.
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 too bad that copyright still falls under most artworks

Hi Seán! I highly recommend Wendigoon. He does a great job at giving a summary, theory and timeline of what happened! Definitely helped me a lot when trying to piece the thing together.
I can’t wait for an update video from him soon!
Besides, O'Brien is a character from the novel 1984 who appears to the protagonist as the only one who can give him a way out from the dystopian world, but who later betrays him and reveals he was just using him as a puppet. I definitely think Alex Kister got inspiration from that
Alex always does such an amazingly horrific job. I loved the alternates shown this time. Absolutely chilling.
The biblical speech at the beginning along with Jack in the corner proves that he is essentially Jesus looking down at all of us

Jack straight up hit him with the "touch grass" move
Yes. Another addition of The Mandela Catalog. Missed this series. Glad Sean made a video on it again. That face at 45:36 is straight nightmare fuel.
Since we know the fake Gabriel was the first alternate whose to say the other biblical stories shown here were not apart of this
I'd HIGHLY recommend the two videos wendigoon had made on the mandela catalouge if you want a better insight into this story, im sure another is coming soon since volume 4 hasn't been covered yet
not yet, but a full live reaction and analysis is on wendigang :D
There is a bunch of other things that you missed so i would recommend if you got the time, i would do a quick run down of the previous episode.
the hands in the hallway were pretty scary until i thought about how people had to film them flailing their hands

If anything this makes it more scary, almost like it’s becoming more realistic. (just me tho)
And longer and longer
I disagree, specially if you follow the story carefully
I Swear Sarah's voice actor is the same woman who does Amanda the Adventurer, either that or the voices are incredibly similar

Man, this is so amazing. I feel bad about not watching to originals, but there is no way I could watch these alone....
But if you look back at the video called " metaphysical awareness disorder " (M.A.D), You will know that there's a small percentage that survives it and Thatcher is one of them, so now we have alternate Thatcher and real Thatcher coexisting because he didn't get affected by M.A.D and still alive.
great explanation, replying to boost
