I've driven up Pikes Peak and it's genuinely scary - even at 10mph. The altitude gain is no joke - once you get into the top half you feel like you're in a plane. Go over the edge and you ain't stopping. The people who race up it have serious cajones.

BMW are still doing well, there is absolutely nothing wrong with an M5 competition, Mercedes have a few good cars as well, but hard to get and very pricey. Porsche have been in the performance game for decades now, they are often overlooked by car enthusiasts for some reason.

im doing pikes peak 2024 in my fully built 996 turbo. have another year of development before im ready but it will also be my fist time up the mountain in person. I have done it a thousand times on the driving sim and ive got hundreds of hours of seat time in my car. im doing a gt2rs PDK and front diff swap and a 4.0l 1200awhp build full carbon fiber body, doors and active aero. I have done a lot of racing but pikes peak and baja1000 are two things im aproaching slowly. i want to come ready to rip and handle business and not showup with a car that isnt safe. Im testing the car at my home track (laguuna seca) until i can get it dialed in. i wish i had rob or mr donner to help with my build. rob always gets all the lucky ride alongs.

Can't wait for this coming race in a few months last year's visibility at devils playground was terrible still fun tho!!! Also getting to see rod millen in his old yellow tacoma was pretty cool the level of cars you see is insane

They say his record was 9:54 while couple minutes earlier in video the bearded guy says he went 9:50,18 yesterday and aiming for 9:48. I am not sure where the discrepancy came from but I kindly ask to fix it.
Do you think they pick a different time a day if they were so worried about the animals as they’re active around Donna dusk. And there’s very little room for error push when you have clips on one side. Like the nurburgRing, but above tree line for most of it and cliffs. I don’t cook on me.
