You don't ever know why a dog is placed in a shelter and you can see the sadness in their eyes. It breaks my heart! I wish that I could adopt all of them! 🥰
I agree with you Emily. If i had the money, i would have a big house with a big yard for like 20 dogs, and all the toys and obstacle courses that dogs love to play in. Good food, plenty of fun excercise, lots of hugs, and a lot of love to be sure. It would be work for sure, but that's ok with me. Dogs rule😃🥰😊

Yeah, I’ve seen people who’ve suddenly had some terrible life circumstances happen and they can no longer care for the dog. It’s heartbreaking both ways: dog losing the owner and owner losing the dog. Nothing infuriates me more however, than people giving a dog up for selfish bullshit. I once took in a beautiful, senior German Shepherd who had lived with this family his whole life. The owner was a woman who was getting rid of him because he “didn’t match the new carpet”. I ordinarily abhor violence, especially against women, but while I was outwardly kind and patient, I seriously wanted to beat her to death with a hammer. It took every shred of sanity I had to not lose it on her right there.
Just BEAUTIFUL!! We've ONLY ever ADOPTED. They're ALL so deserving of a Forever Family. 💖
Brings tears. I adopted a 6 year old pound puppy, 70 pounds, and very badly abused. It took me 2 years to be able to reach out and pet her without her freaking out. (more tears) But she was the best dog I ever had (I have had so many!), and we were soul mates. The rest of her life was happy, we taught her how to play with toys (she was obsessed with a snoopy toy), and she had the best sense of humor. She would laugh at her own jokes, bobbing her head up and down in laughter, a full toothed grin. I miss that dog so much!
My family once adopted a shelter dog. She hated other dogs, but she was so friendly. Took her home. That was seven years ago and now she is 11, living a happy life. She's still just as playful and loves rolling around in the grass under the hot sun. :)
I am 72. I have never been without a beautiful shelter dog. Sometimes they take a lot of patience and unconditional love. Yet in time,the unconditional love and companionship they give lasts a lifetime.
We really don’t deserve dogs. They’re too good, too pure for us. I know that and tell my dog that multiple times a day. Followed with lots of hugs and kisses of course.

It's heart breaking. I've adopted and it's so difficult to decide which one you bring home. They all need a good loving home and caring parents.

The people that work in the shelters and assume the responsibility of finding these dogs a forever home deserve more gratitude than many think they get. Sometimes it’s hard to find the right home. A lot has to do with the dogs personally and the new owners lifestyle. But every dog who finds themselves in this situation need time to adjust to the new owners family. Some may take only a couple weeks while others may take several months to feel at home. All these people who work at giving them a new home get a thank you from me. I love dogs and have had a number of dogs in my life. The only constant is that if you love them, see that they get the proper exercise and diet they will love like no other creature on this planet. And you will get back double the love you give to them.

You asked which is our favorite, you’re kidding, right? They’re all just so adorable. It’s like being shown a dozen beautiful red roses and asking which on is your favorite, don’t think that works. All the dogs I saw were great. They were all different but still great. I doubt anyone could go wrong with any one of these lovely, cute, adorable fur babies. Thanks for taking such good care of them and giving them the love they have been robbed of all their life.

All of my pets have been shelter pets, or stray cats. Shelter pets make the beat pets!! My lab shepherd mix just turned 3! She is beautiful and soo loving. Thank you for taking such good care of these precious animals.I never understood how anyone could surrender their animals. I mean an animal in my presents for 5 minutes and they never leave!! We're down to 1 dog and 2 cats. All 3 strays and shelter animals. I'll never buy a bred animal.

I cry when I see the reaction and love between the new owners and pooches. Its heart wrenching that animals can be used and abused, they give so much more than anything on 2 legs. I've had nothing but rescue dogs and hv had soooo much love and pleasure from them all Dogs, and pets in general are for life and part of your family. Please give them what they deserve. I just adopted my Jersey dog from a shelter, at 1 she is the most chill & such a good dog, she is a God send into my life after losing my lab after 14 yrs, so many shelter pups need love ❤️

I adopted a shelter dog who had been on the streets for several years. He was very sick, had to hand feed him & water from a dropper because he was too weak. After several months & a few surgeries he’s the most beautiful Maltese ever!! And so loving, grateful & well behaved!! Please give shelter dogs a chance!! TLC goes a long way & these dogs deserve love 💗

Our little girl came from a puppy mill rescue. She suffers from epilepsy. I will pay my last dollar to save her before I ever think of giving her up or putting her down. That’s my baby. She brings me such joy and I will love her until our last breaths.
My ShizTsu was rescued from a backyard breeder. Had heartworm, colitis, rotten teeth. The vet nursed her back to health, and we had her 7 years until she passed away at home.
Awww! So absolutely *lovely* to see these lovely "children" getting new homes and a mom and dad each!! So sad about the puppy mill doggins though!! Thank you to the kind hearted gentleman who was so caring toward them and worked to get them homes. God bless him! A big kiss on the cheek from an elderly lady!
I adopted a ShizTsu from the shelter where she was taken from a backyard breeder. The poor dog was a total mess, but the vet nursed her to health and we had her 7 years. She was the only of 8 dogs that died at home.

I work at a shelter where we have three dogs that are quite difficult therefore it's not easy to find them a good home. Broven, a medium sized black mix is a sweetheart of a dog, very nervous and loud tho. He's been in the shelter for over a year now and still no sight of a forever family. He loves to play and is absolutely sweet (even tho he apparently has some problems with males).
Rocky is a young one year old malinois who was surrendered after the previous owners had him for ONE (!!) week because they were overwhelmed with a young malinois.. yeah.. I have no words. He's here for at least six months already and also not really any new family in sight. Besides his little problems he's the sweetest puppy who loves to cuddle
I believe those 3 adorable dogs regardless of their challenges will eventually find the perfect forever homes, it breaks my heart to hear these things especially when a dog gets returned after being adopted, can you do me a huge favor kindly give each of them a pet for me? 😊

Loved seeing them all get adopted. They know when you walk up to them with that golden card... I'm getting a home like all my friends. Enjoyed hearing all their names when you approach them and tell them they are getting adopted. I really hate it when so called adopters just don't show up. At least call and tell the shelter you won't be able to adopt that certain dog. The shelter will have other potential adopters unable to pick that dog because you have said you were coming. So do the decent thing and notify them.

How about looking up rescue sites on the internet?
All mine are adoption fails, usually more than two failed adoptions. Behavioral issues, non aggressive. Some of the sweetest babies I've ever had.
