I was fostering a dog (long story) when the local shelter called to say they had an adopter. She drove an hour to pick him up, but returned him a week later because her neighbors insisted the dog was part *pit bull* - not allowed in their apartments complex.
> 3 weeks later the shelter called me again to say the same adopter was coming to get him. She had been so determined to keep him that *she had a DNA test done* which concluded he was a mix of 8 or 9 breeds - but *no pit bull!*
> We were already the shelter when she arrived the next Saturday, and the dog immediately jumped up to greet her. (" _So you remember Miss Ashley, eh!_ " I laughed.) Everyone left happy that day.

This video brought a big smile to my face! I loved all the beautiful dogs and am ecstatic they all found homes...but I especially liked seeing all the empty kennels at that shelter and the two dogs that were adopted together! That's what I did exactly your year ago, when I adopted a bonded pair, Patch, the cattle dog and Buddy a Jack Russell mix...talk about the odd couple...lol! I'm thankful everyday that I have them both!
For Deaf dog I would of loved her anyway and kept her forever..🙏💞🐕
Made me cry at every moment when these adopted parents showed up to collect their chosen dog. These animals reactions were PRICELESS TO THE CORE.🥺🥺

Was it disclosed to the adopter that the dog was deaf? Although it seems cruel, not everyone is equipped to care for a "special needs" pet...If the adopter knew in advance, then that's just wrong...
These people don't deserve any dog.

@@MonicaJNYCThe shelter didn't catch the fact that she was deaf, the adopters figured it out after getting her. The most likely didn't want to return her, but felt like they couldn't provide the things necessary to care for her, hence their choice to bring her back in hopes of someone more prepared taking her in.
I don’t care what anyone says. I can see their eyes light up and they even smile when they are adopted by a good family. Taking the Dalmatian home myself.

I'm guessing the first family had a young child. Not a great basis for adoption. Glad the dogs weren't separated. And you just know how loved those two Yorkies will be! What a great home they will have!
I truly believe there is a home for every dog in a shelter. Wylie/Chow-X had at least three homes, then 6 months in a humane society and
3 months at a rescue. We adopted him and he loved us from day one. It took me 2 years to make him a wonderful dog. It was one of my greatest accomplishments.

I really feel for rescue dogs in Shelters. Growing up as an unwanted kid, a little love goes a long way like these dogs display.
Watched this while playing with my own ex-shelter dog, Maisey. She was abandoned by her previous owners and lived as a stray before being brought into the shelter.
She has a beautiful temperent, passed all the behavioural tests with flying colours, and I can't imagine why someone would just throw her (or any pet) out onto the street.
She's been through a lot, but she's certainly being spoilt now.
It is heartbreaking to see some dogs watch their owners walk away after surrendering them. I understand why their shelter dad has them watch and why it is helpful so that they don't continue to look for them. It is sad to think the people returned the dalmatian because they found out he was deaf. It was a great opportunity for them to show that he didn't have to be perfect to be loved. They are the ones that lost out. I am sure his new forever home will be one that accepts him for what he is....a great dog. The shelter dad never loses an opportunity to cheer up his dogs as they wait to be adopted. Such as a Thanksgiving dinner and lots of fun. Great video and it is so good to see them walk out the door with their new families.
You do such a Great job for your animals ❤️ heartbreaking when some are returned, but happier still when they find their real home! Thank you for all you do for the dogs, they are blessed to have you fighting for them. 💙💙💙😇😇😇
Shelter workers should all get medals & every animal should have a home. I wish I could work in a shelter but I'm crying as I write this comment after watching this happy video. I'd never last.

My little dog was deaf and blind for the last few years of his life. He was a little pom chihuahua mix and he got around surprisingly well and seemed to have the house memorized. He was deaf long before he went blind and it just meant everyone waved to get his attention instead of calling for him. I loved seeing him light up from getting a good boy wave.

At one time I had 3 Dalmatians. One was partially deaf. Smartest dog on the planet. I had to spell words around her. She actually learned hand signals. I miss that dog. Deafness is more a problem for the people than the 🐕. They adjust.

Some of the bigger shelters get all the attention. I think we should support little ones like this and help them get big and plenty of money from You Tube. If you leave messages and subscribe they get more views as the algorithm picks them up. So if you can't afford to help them financially then like them, comment, subscribe and press the bell. IT all helps them turn up in the recommendations and grow. I'm just a viewer I just think that the work these people do deserves as much attention as the big ones. I just got my baby "puppy" he's 2 years old...NEUTERED. Yes it's sad to see these dogs in shelters. We don't know why or how they became homeless. Maybe during a disaster "misplaced" or lost...so many YYYYs. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
I would absolutely adopt a deaf dog. All the dogs who had a rough life or are disabled. I’ll take em!
I will never understand how someone surrenders their dog or cat to a shelter. I have stated many times, if you are not a person who bonds with a pet, do not get a pet. Those of us who truly love our pets, could never, never put them in a shelter. The other point is overbreeding in the US. There are more dogs and cats then good homes. The American Kennel Association needs to advise their members to limit their dog's litters and then to spay them . The owners of the dogs, and the breeders must be held accountable for the disgraceful numbers of dogs put down every year. Stop breeding your dogs. The American Kennel Assoc. should limit the litters each pedigree dog has. That would be a start.

Heartwarming to see them happy with their new family, they all do a little bit of a turn in the car park to see we’re they’ve come from,they all deserve a home with love,yes if you can’t look after the dog any more it’s humane to surrender to a shelter than leave it on the street to fend for themselves,especially long haired dogs and we’ve seen quite a few in horrific conditions.god bless the little animals.

We sane people could learn a lot of wonderful ways by observing puppy's/cats etc...and there unconditional love...my cat Lucky who i claimed from Shelter when a baby...lived 14+years and slept with me 2+fetched on his own....B NICE,KIND and give UNCONDITIONAL LOVE 2 your pet(s)....PLEASE....
I was separated from my puppy as a child by an abusive parent. It crushed me. I'm in my 50s. I have a lot of pets now. I never forgave the person responsible. But I give love to every animal I can. People who give up animals deserve horrible payback

Life is unpredictable. Sometimes you are just not able to take care of your dog anymore. Of course that is sad, but as long as you make sure your dog is brought to a good shelter or (preferably) good new home, that is absolutely fine.

Deafness is no reason to deny a home and love to a pup. It’s for the best that the adopters knew that deafness was a no for them. Let someone who can handle it have the privilege of loving her. I’d love her hearing or not. We have a blind Chihuahua and a beagle with a repair for a broken hip. Both sweet and loving doggo’s!

I just adopted a Chihuahua mix. She’s a little girl 7 pounds she just went for her first check up. She’s perfect. She was a stray. I don’t know her story but it wasn’t good. She’s so loving I love her.

I had dog that was a black lab,that had 3 legs,but she ran just as fast as a dog on 4 legs,she was happy,that's all she knew,she was kind,loving dog,she passed away.But her name was Sissy ,she was special dog ,not only for me ,to everybody.
