I thought about suggesting that name as well since he was so dusty from where you found him. I hope he gets a home soon. I already have two rescued dogs and a rescue cat and live in a small house. Also, I’m getting up in years myself (70) like the lady who commented earlier. I’ll pray he gets a great home. He deserves one after all he’s been through so far in his young life.

I have a “foster fail” dog and he is what keeps me going. Abandoned and headed for the one way ticket to the vet, I got him and somehow I am convinced he knows he was saved. He returns the love to me everyday and after several years of training I do exactly what he wants..🥰
My profile pic is also a "foster fail". He decided he would adopt us. He was also to the Room of Sadness when a local rescue got him and we were supposed to foster him. That lasted the trip home and I wasn't going to let him go. He is my "best friend that is not my wife" and we love him dearly. He is the happiest person I know as long as I don't say "not suppertime" and then he's a grouch.

People do this to children and elderly all the time. Apparently, you are not exposed to neither the foster care system nor the elderly care system. Children are picked up all the time in abandoned, abused and neglected conditions and placed in shelters and foster care. Elderly are abandoned to facilities rarely visited by their children and family. Elderly are moved into housing designated for independent living, low income housing for the elderly by their family who rarely if ever check in on them again to see if they are even OK. I'm not saying any of this is OK. Just answering your question, yes people do this to children and parents all the time.
Thats true. They just forget their abuser soon and live a new life. But if a pup or just any animal had been abused by humans, since it was a baby, then it'll take much much longer to fix the long-term psychological damage.
A buddy of mine had a really great dog & His name was Chance. Chance was part Wolf & loved to play, & I would always spend time playing with Him, when I visited. Sadly, Chance had to be put down @ age 9 due to illness. I miss Him so much. I loved watching this video, & seeing this Puppy get a new Chance at life, after It's dirt bag owner dumped Him. Chance is a nice name!

Someone will be so fortunate to get him. He physically looks a lot like an English red haired lab because of the broad head and body type. Also has a wonderful temperament. So happy there are folks like you out there who are dedicated animal lovers.

I'd love to adopt him, and name him Romeo, because he looks like a little lover, but at 75, I've got my hands full with the ones I have now. I hope you will keep helping and rescuing dogs in need. My friend and I started decades before they ever called it "Rescue", and when my sons were young they would help too. We'd just pick up the dogs, especially when one of the military bases would call us to pick up a dog (or cat) who's owner went TDY (Temporary duty - stationed elsewhere). No one ever donated or paid us, we took care of everything ourselves, including vet bills and meds. It's been a labor of love, and I'd do it all over again if I weren't so old, LOL.
What thoughtless people did to this wee pup is unthinkable. He was left in cold weather with a handful of food in a cardboard box. This guy is too small to fend for himself and was taken in by a passer by who bathed him and gave him a second chance of life. These people are rarely found. Some people are utterly despicable in their treatment of baby animals. My cat Tommy was abandoned as a tiny kitten during one of the most blazing hot, drought stricken summers ever. If I hadn't found him, fed him and given him water and shelter, his poor little bones would've ended up lying under bushes somewhere on my property. He's been a joyous part of my life for twelve years.
He doesn't look so unhealthy as to have been left alone for that long, hopefully that means that passers-by were giving him food. I'm literally shocked and so glad he got a warm, safe place to be taken care of.

And yes, I get that there are many stray dogs on the streets in some cities - but not chubby, healthy-looking puppies that look like this; these basically look like "calendar puppies"! I think you could be right that these may be feigned rescues. I'd like to know what country this is in and see if someone can verify these folks are real rescuers - because you bring up a good point - where are the older, dogs? The cats? Something seems off.

Doesnt matter if he's adorable, beyond cute, the sweetest thing ever, no animal deserves to be treated like trash. Puppies cant just "figure it out" if you let them go. They will die 99% of the time. And 100% of the time it's a horrific and very very slow death. Dont ever let me catch anyone treating an animal this way. You wont walk away from it, I promise.

That broke my heart when seeing that precious little boy in that box with that sad face and shaking. Thank you for saving him. I would like to find the people or person who left him in that field and do the same exact thing to them. There is NO excuse to abandon or abuse any animal.

Some people are utterly despicable in their treatment of baby animals. My cat Tommy was abandoned as a tiny kitten during one of the most blazing hot, drought stricken summers ever. If I hadn't found him, fed him and given him water and shelter, his poor little bones would've ended up lying under bushes somewhere on my property. He's been a joyous part of my life for twelve years.

He doesn't look so unhealthy as to have been left alone for that long, hopefully that means that passers-by were giving him food. I'm literally shocked and so glad he got a warm, safe place to be taken care of.

Think for one minute. Not even big cities have SO MANY abandoned puppies. These people are getting the puppies and leaving them alone outside in random places for a day or two, then going back and rescue them. ALL FOR PROFIT for their Utube channel. They don't ever help adult dogs. Or cats. THESE PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK!!!

@@Kelly-gz7tt I think you could be right. I'd be surprised if, even in another country, anyone's tossing-out what looks to be a purebred lab puppy; where I live they go for $3500! And yes, I get that there are many stray dogs on the streets in some cities - but not chubby, healthy-looking puppies that look like this; these basically look like "calendar puppies"! I think you could be right that these may be feigned rescues. I'd like to know what country this is in and see if someone can verify these folks are real rescuers - because you bring up a good point - where are the older, dogs? The cats? Something seems off.

Doesnt matter if he's adorable, beyond cute, the sweetest thing ever, no animal deserves to be treated like trash. Puppies cant just "figure it out" if you let them go. They will die 99% of the time. And 100% of the time it's a horrific and very very slow death. Dont ever let me catch anyone treating an animal this way. You wont walk away from it, I promise.

He wasn’t abandoned in a box. The people who called put him in the box with food. Though It is possible that the people who called could have been the people who abandoned him.
as i understood it, the original owners didnt even do that. that box and the food inside came from whoever called it in. shadow had been there several weeks, i believe

I will never understand why people do this, it’s extremely heartbreaking how heartless people can be, these are living beings too they deserve to be loved and cared for just as much as the rest of us! That broke my heart when seeing that precious little boy in that box with that sad face and shaking. Thank you for saving him. I would like to find the people or person who left him in that field and do the same exact thing to them. There is NO excuse to abandon or abuse any animal.
