I’d love someone to cover Zendaya’s hairstyles, because her hairstylists also kill it with all the variety they put it but no one talks about that enough.

Zandaya is not getting enough credit for her on-carpet poses. She wears all those outfits with such authentic confidence and architectural knowledge, if that makes sense.
@@derlebkuchenmann yh truly she understands body composition so well and she always plays with movement that’s a big part of why her looks become so memorable because she knows how to make her presence feel beautiful
I think she and Law are genius. No one says “let’s see what the cast of Challenger is wearing “, it’s “what is Zendaya wearing”. And with Dune 2, she pulled the cast with her. She showed up day one, and poor Tim looks like the hired help. He started stepping it up. And everyone from the movie followed.
Great life lessons in your casual comment here! As a person who does everything with high standards for myself, I tend to conform to people around me and just do okay not to make them feel bad and rock the boat. (Probably the main source of my disdain and disappointment of social interactions and humans in general) This is a good reframe! ❤
I don't even care if people were uninspired by that first look. From where I'm sitting, the color and fit are STUNNING and sometimes a girl just wants to be fucking pretty. BUT, you tying the fashion aspect of it all together makes it that much more badass. Much respect.💜
Also if you look at the shadow dress you see that the ball casts a short and compact shadow itself which leads me to believe it is not being thrown up but rather rests on the ground. Perhaps the player is actually raising their bat in anger or is about to super smash the bouncing ball. It's a really cool dress is what I'm trying to say 😂
I love how Zendaya and Law both give their 100 percent to represent movie through fashion...law's connection and Zendaya's power to carry any look is just perfect combo
Her method dressing is gonna be something people will follow for decades to come. She didn’t invent it but she is so known for it and I don’t think she’ll change that ❤ I love her literalness and commitment to the character and story.
BORING? Are those people nuts? Margot Robbie really brought back this showmanship during the press tours or marketing for new movies. They used to do it years ago, but Barbie really got so much attention from this for free. People paid attention to see what she was wearing. That was such a HUGE reason the movie got so much attention. Women young and old got dressed up and went to the movies, they made an event out of it. Just like TS with her tours, particularly the Eras Tour. Zendaya is doing the same for her movies: Spider-Man, Dune, and Challengers. I’m old now, and I’m sad I didn’t get to dress up for something like this. They’re doing press tours no matter what and no one sees anything on them, nor do we watch, unless fashion comes into play. Yes, it has a lot to do with the cast, movie, and theme, but Barbie really made everyone go back and make a timeline of Zendaya going all out for each movie
Tbh, Zendaya has been doing this since Spiderman: Homecoming possibly even before. But her and Margot have been pioneers in the modern method dressing movement
Zendaya looks so good as a preppy blond girl, something you wouldn't expect of someone who also looks as good as she does in the other fashions she pulls off
I love the history lesson I get when I watch these videos. I feel so much more cultured after 😅 Also, it would be nice for Law to do a book talking about his process and thinking with all of the celebrities he works with 👏
Zendaya never disappoints, compliments to her AND her stylist. Luke's commentary drawing in fashion history, trends of a certain time affecting our current fashion and appreciating the craftspeople whose talents makes these garments take center stage is amazingly comprehensive (as usual).

Is it only me that thinks that the technical mesh is actually a reference for the tennis net? (21:17) love all Zendaya looks, and love all your videos Luke! The recent Maison Margiela? Outstanding! ❤️
I thought it was, and I learned a lot! I love your references and connection to history, especially Althea Gibson! I also think Zendaya likes the method of dressing on press tours because it helps her be more comfortable and deflects some overly personal questions. I approve! Being interested in celebrities is fine, but as fans, we need to respect personal boundaries.
I love how she/her team also matches the background, or really thinks about the location she'll find herself in aesthetically wise while picking up outfits or choosing where to pose. I like to do the same.
Another fantastic recap of a marketing/fashion coup on the part of Law Roach and Zendaya. While her dressing takes center stage it also creates so much buzz around whatever film she's promoting; it's genius really and paid off with Challengers opening at number 1. You definitely opened my eyes to some of these references for sure. Incredible work.
I love how she has brought method dressing to the forefront. It makes sense to bring another form of artwork (fashion) to the opening of some other art (film). All telling a story.
I'm so glad you did a video on her challengers press tour looks! I can't get enough of zendaya's method dressing and thought she hit it out of the park with some of these! 🎾🎾
The way I have been waiting for this video. I knew it was coming when Zendaya came out with that Thom Brown dress and Luke didn't post anything about it. That's when I knew a full Challengers Zendaya red carpet look video was coming and you did not disappoint. Thank you for making such an amazing video. It was very fun to watch!!
Luke, this video is just amazing! I like fashion but ever since I started watching you long ago I began to appreciate it at another level. You make fashion so interesting in the way you explain things! You should actually interview Law and Zendaya and talk about all their references and inspirations, that'd be a dream!
I think it’s the fact that Zendaya can make the most intricate and complicated ensembles look effortless and carefree yet chic and elegant, that we think we can pull it off too. It’s incredible to be able to see inside Laws thought process through Zendaya.
I love the historical fashion details you explain here! Such an unexpected deep dive into tennis history and leisure class fashion - but I should expect nothing less from your fashion explanations and analysis - Great job Luke!
Method dressing is NOT boring. I love the thematic dressing, the drama and storytelling. Kudos to Zendaya and her stylist! BTW: This elevates fashion to art. Art is so much about context and influence, which is what Zendaya is doing here.
Luke I ❤ you! You are well read on fashion. Your knowledge some times blows me away. The homework is done flawlessly. I’ve been following for about 4ish years. You never miss a beat. ( gush❤gush). Keep doing you. It’s a gift and you got it - so thank you!!!

You are young and thats awsome, though it also means you may fall victim to trends of certain social trends that can make those that fall for it worse than "FASHION VICTIMS"...these momentts usually feel like "you HAVE the right to express your social opinion about today's "certainties" that usually are attached to fancy ready made phrases and unclear word that when you actually stop to describe them... In this video, your research and references have shown you the masters, the classics, their inspirations and sources rum far from what was at those times "socially trendy".... facts, history, vision beyond what everybody else was saying or thinking, many many times, what was unpopular, what was the opposite of what most young people were saying and thinking at their times. The research behind this video is incredible! I loved learning the history and references put into each look and you explained it and tied it into the movie so well! So interesting and possibly one of my fave videos you have ever made 😍
I have to say dear Luke, that you made me smile throughout the video because of your enthusiasm for juxtaposing couture and this entirely different take on the fashion and history within the sport of tennis. It was fun to see you bubble over a couple of times and giggle like a little schoolgirl, and it gave all of us the inspiration to playfully embrace our own Z-crush. Adorable!
I like to think that many of these looks play on Tashi being the most important expectator on the last Match: The white Calvin Klein suit takes you to what she is wearing in that last Match and it's a cool outfit to refference bc that moves the whole story forward. Also, the first green Loewe dress, i don't think it's only surrealist, i thing it's quite literal, her boys are playing in front of her, and one of the last moments is a big jump from Art. The sillouhette could have been in any other position, yet to me it sugests Tashi seeing that last jump and the final hug, she is in the audience, the shadow projects on her too. I AM REACHING AND I LOVE IT. Not talking about Tashi as a expectator anymore, I'm gonna keep going, the feathers/bustle reference in Vivienne Westwood it's so funny when you think about Tashi needing a Cheerleader, a follower, a submissive partner, she isnt going to be the Cheerleader, so her pom pom is... Behind. Yeah. Right. Gorgeous. The 2013 LV could also mean strategy, it's what chess is know for and what Tashi seems to be thinking of constantly, how to gain Art's confidence back, how to win that match and all others (to great f** extents as we have seen) , how to how to how to. She is the planner, the coach, the strategist, the Queen of that board. So yeah, those are my LSD impulsed thoughts. I love how they reconfigurated gender roles for this, and the fact that she is the one meant to wear the pants in a sport/relationship where the skirt is whats expected is great. Go Law, Go Z. !!!!
Amazing review, so many interesting explanations. Zendaya kills at the red carpets as always. Those who said that they got tired of her method dressing are BORING!
This was so interesting! I never miss your videos, & I love your enthusiasm for the history of fashion. Learning about Althea Gibson took this to the next level. Best wishes from Czechia!
I’m realizing that I’m liking the looks much more after watching the film and learning about tashi as a character since zendaya is embodying the character
The thing about white historically being exclusive is not entirely true. White was the easiest color to clean - you could boil it, bleach it, ect - and that made it much more durable. Hence why a lot of sportswear would be white, just like your linens(underwear) and the clothes you would dress babies and toddlers in. It was expected to get dirty. Though the leisure class would ofc have had the money to have servants do the laundering for them or sending it to a wash house.
i love the subtle ode to 20’s style on the 7th look! the little bow around her hips is tied in a very 1920’s fashion and and the placement i believe is a reference to the drop waist styles of the era, really beautiful to see done in a modern way!
Idk if there are any fashion conspiracy theories out there, but if there are any, I want Luke to do a deep dive. His fashion research skills are unparalleled.
Pausing the video half way through just to compliment you. This is the first video I’ve ever seen of yours and I’m just in love. Very well put together, you can tell you do your research and genuinely love the topic of fashion. There’s lots of facts and just enough opinion sprinkled in. Great job.💚
I love the method dressing and I want to see more. It’s so much fun. I would love to see other actresses exploring this in fashion instead of the same boring gowns we always see.
So much fashion history!! As well as just plain social history. All perfectly served up to us. Chapeau, chapeau to Luke! I've never heard of of the movie but I'm sure it's Ok, but the fashion history here is superb.

Zandaya always kills a look. She is goals.
Agree
This was so interesting! I never miss your videos, & I love your enthusiasm for the history of fashion. Learning about Althea Gibson took this to the next level. Best wishes from Czechia!
The Thom Browne 1930s reference is that drop waste with a bow accent! Luv ur posts! Your commentary is fabulous! 🎉
I’m realizing that I’m liking the looks much more after watching the film and learning about tashi as a character since zendaya is embodying the character
this was the best press tour fashion I’ve ever seen
When I saw the Vivian Westwood situation I knew Luke was gonna have a ball and talk about history and bussles 😂😂😂
Fabulous, informative, and fun recap of tennis history and clothing. Thank you
Loved all the looks. Her stylist needs a raise. Two thumbs up.
Idk if there are any fashion conspiracy theories out there, but if there are any, I want Luke to do a deep dive. His fashion research skills are unparalleled.
💯
Thank you so much for all this info, Luke! I'm so intrigued to learn more about Althea Gibson now!
the Thom Browne look had me GAGGING! It's just pure excellence I cant stop thinking about it
Pausing the video half way through just to compliment you. This is the first video I’ve ever seen of yours and I’m just in love. Very well put together, you can tell you do your research and genuinely love the topic of fashion. There’s lots of facts and just enough opinion sprinkled in. Great job.💚
Loved this breakdown! Thanks Luke
Your insights are always so thought out and interesting, such a refreshing way to talk about Fashion on social media.
Love your breaking down the fashion, the history, the changes. I always learn so much watching you, thank you!
I love the method dressing and I want to see more. It’s so much fun. I would love to see other actresses exploring this in fashion instead of the same boring gowns we always see.
I always feel so much smarter after watching your videos. love the leather, athena and carolyn look
Enjoyed this review. Learned a lot about impact of fashion in tennis or vice versa
So much fashion history!! As well as just plain social history. All perfectly served up to us. Chapeau, chapeau to Luke!
I've never heard of of the movie but I'm sure it's Ok, but the fashion history here is superb.
