Well, this is one of those songs that I connected with on the very first listen. I was being bullied at work and in a really, really bad place emotionally and mentally as a result. As usual, a Finn song magically materialized that simply made me feel better. For once, I was able to see a few of the concerts when they toured in support of the recording, in Vancouver, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco. At the San Francisco gig I secured THE prime spot right in front of Neil at the stage's edge. When they began to play the opening chords to this song, something went wrong with his guitar and he knelt to make a quick adjustment. In the quiet of that brief pause, I quietly told him it was a really lovely song. And you know what? He looked at me and told me I was really lovely too. One of the most gracious, most wonderful moments of my life. Thanks Neil.
Can't get enough of Neil, Crowded House and Finn Bros. I think these fellas are the greatest songwriters alive. Been listening since I first heard them in Oz back in '83. rDon
This song always makes me want to cry, it's such a well written, poignant, and beautiful song. I remember being bullied a lot when i was younger (and even now a little) and this song has always resonated with me because of that.
Thanks to Tim and Neil Finn for a great message in this song, you are amazing team and my all time favourite band and I can spend hours listening to all of your songs from Enz until now and everything you have done is amazing, I love you.
Hey, Ty, just wanted to say I've been listening to your downloads for about a year & feel guilty I've never said thank you. Before you, I'd never heard Tim & Neil together!! what a loss that was!! I thought it couldn't get any better than Crowded House (who I was lucky enough to see twice ), but I love the Finn Bros! Thanks again...Finn Bros. Forever!!🤗🤗
wow! Ty are you still out there? Just want to say thanks for posting the iconic Finn bros. Still enjoy them singing together best, but still love Neil too gone solo, one Finn brother is still better than nothing.
Thank you, both of you, for the last 40 years of music.
"remember how it made you hurt even as you fight to go on--
turn it into something else
turn it into something else!"
GOD I LOVE THIS
For me, their best music comes from when they are together rather than apart. The blending of their voices and songwriting is pretty much unbeatable.
Sure it true 100 percent, they both special men
Agree. There's something magically uplifting hearing their voices together....on great songs and they always have top musicians behind them.
Absolutely agree. It's just magical and beyond beautiful.
Tim harmonizing with Neil is as good as it gets!
one off the greatest songs ever written
This song has saved lives. Remember that. You have done good. Thank you for the message you have saved some of my friends....

The best since Lennon and McCartney
One of my favourite albums of all time, Everyone Is Here. Great themes to it too, of family and belonging. Hits at the heart of every human emotion.

Simply magnificent!
Ty, you are a one stop shop for the best music! What a great discovery for this Aussie chap - first saw the Crowdies on Port Melbourne beach in 1987!
Nice humorous cameo by Paul Hester. RIP, Paul, you are much missed.
The band was Tim's touring band. Michael Barker - drums
Dror Erez - keyboards
Michael den Elzen - bass
Jack Abeyratne - guitar

Paul hosted this performance for a music channel in Australia.
This song always makes me think about Anthony Walker, murdered in Liverpool by thugs with an Ice pick. Men with black hearts. Rest in peace Anth.
