Jimmy Page is on fire in this song, he's amazing 👏. You should see the whole concert in the movie The Song Remains The Same that we used to go see at the midnight showing back in the 70's. I saw it lots of times. I saw them in concert for only $15. With good seats too.
Although I'm 68, I still listen to Zep almost daily after seeing them in London in '75. Prior to that show, I'd been drawn as a young woman to Robert, with fleeting notice to Jimmy as a Yardbird, BUT seeing Jimmy move like that changed my story. The sound coming from him - that aura and the magic. That's why I return, often, to this particular clip. No disrespect to Robert, but I play and replay that intro - those moves - to hear Jimmy John and JPJ make that sound. The other, for those who know what I mean, is to find Archilles Last Stand at Knebworth when it's said Jimmy had lost it. My God, you'll never see or hear anything quite like it again.
What a great all around musician Jimmy was..song arrangements..production..recording and some of the most famous riffs in rock history 4:10 and what a gentleman
Still my go to video to show just how incredible Page 's finger work flying at the speed of sound up and down the frets. At one point you do not see his fingers move. A total blur! I honestly think this is a moment in film history that magic played a part!
Honestly, I made the same remark about how many notes he playing back when I saw this at the cinema as a teenager and it lived with me ever since. Totally in awe. Still, to this day.

I first saw this as a 15 year old in 1983. 40 years later, I can honestly say that it’s still one of the greatest rock performances ever. Minus Plants voice, you have three top musicians on their respective instruments, absolutely KILLING it! So much sound and swag. If Zeppelin is the GOAT (which I believe they are), out of all their classic, timeless songs that influenced millions, if I had to pick one single live performance to emphasize just how good these guys were, it’d be this one.
What gets me is how they segue straight into that delicate and perfect rendition of Rain Song when the adrenalin must be pumping so hard for Jimmy that it even drowns the smack out.

You can see how much Pagey loves playing this. His feet are kicking and he is smiling as he dances. This song is not an easy one to nail down. Great stuff!
I feel so much emotion from al the songs played at this show. It seems as though the band had hit their stride and their performance was intense. As an example, the Rain Song. It is a bit dark and deep. Miss this band and this era of music.
50 years now, and still no other band has ever approached what Led Zep were and are. They're still the greatest rock & roll band there ever was or ever will be. Half a century later, and still nobody else has approached the level of who and what Led Zeppelin were and always will be. Like The Higlhlander ~ there can be only one. Fifty years and counting, and still, nobody has ever done this stuff as well as Zeppelin. Fifty years on, and still, nobody has done more to define what the genre is or what it means, how you define it, than Led Zeppelin. Rock & Roll ~ Is Led Zeppelin.
What you're witnessing here is 4 master musicians intertwining their talents together perfectly. But for me, Jimmy stands out as he drives the mighty Zep mothership with his controlled mastery, an artist at work. It's the equivalent of watching Picasso painting a masterpiece.
picasso could easily repeat his works, jimmy was like the senior Jimmy, don't think they ever played same solo next show even if they remembered what they played night before, love them both but no comparison to picasso. ( but i can think some painters after picasso you can compare them with )
my favourite part of the whole song! the whole arrangement is unbelievable though, i can’t comprehend how a single man could write it all! thats pagey for ya

I have the 4hr directors cut on my DVR and listen to it often while doing stuff around the house. 👍
Just listen to that fantastic bass line work from JPJ. Outstanding.
The Energy was so powerful during that performance that it reverberated through the entire Madison square garden building.
Anybody who listens to this and doesn't realize this is the greatest rock band of all time is a moran
"moran" lol
@@naysayer1238 Irony is rich, isn’t it?
The Biggest Band In The WORLD
Fantastic!! One of Zep's best songs and Jimmy was sharp on this
You can see how much Pagey loves playing this.
The double guitar of Jimmy is amazing
Hi Jimmy hope u are well! You are the bomb luv you lynne❤
Mark well done. 73 Zep greatest of all time.
Absolutely astonishing. Takes my breath away, literally....
Absolutely love this edit!
There are so many great guitarists but Jimmy is in a different class. His instrumentals are like no other
As well as his stage presence
What you're witnessing here is 4 master musicians intertwining their talents together perfectly. But for me, Jimmy stands out as he drives the mighty Zep mothership with his controlled mastery, an artist at work. It's the equivalent of watching Picasso painting a masterpiece.
not at all
picasso could easily repeat his works, jimmy was like the senior Jimmy, don't think they ever played same solo next show even if they remembered what they played night before, love them both but no comparison to picasso.
( but i can think some painters after picasso you can compare them with )
My favourite
Who else eagerly anticipates that killer riff Pagey plays at 4:48? Gets me every time.
my favourite part of the whole song! the whole arrangement is unbelievable though, i can’t comprehend how a single man could write it all! thats pagey for ya
3.26 to 3.40 gets me as well ❤️
Short lived and badass.
My gosh...JPJ's galloping bass rhythm along with Bonzo, and Jimmy just kicking butt and in the zone! One of my favorite sections.
5:14 for me the ending riff on the solo is amazing
Bonhams hammering, is phenomenal!! ❤
