Hahahahaha thats classic , loved the theatrics getting the last couple of clicks out of the ratchet "ya cant be too carefull sonny " your right the guys an arse bandit .
I have these and had a flat tire. I told the tow truck driver go easy on the tension on the front end. He took out the slack of the straps. No problem.
Very good video, Max. Spot on. I see it ALL the time, driving next to open trailers or gas station. Riders are simply crazy. The bike looks like a concrete block on a trailer.
This is very true. When my 2023 GW had to be towed to the shop, because the transmission went out with only 23 miles on it, I told the driver after watching Max’s video, not to tie down by the handlebar but he saw no other choice, so he tied it down very loosely. That’s all it took. Even the rear lower tie downs were done very lightly. Now I got those tie downs installed at the front.
I’ve sold my goldwing for no other reason than I wanted something different. Too many bikes, too little time. Nonetheless I still subscribe to max,s channel. Love his insights and common sense. He calls it as it is!
Hi Max, I have the Goldstrike tie downs. It was one of the first accessories I installed. No problems with them. And I enjoy watching your videos, especially the ones when your passed at someone or something.
Love this guy! Ran across his u tube when researching potential GW purchase and subscribed. Went the HD route but stay subscribed. Straightest shooter on the web. Gets to the point with / no BS. 🎉
Always talking the truth! Thank you so much for that! I learned so much from your videos! I wished Traxxion Dynamics would be over here in Germany (i know, you would not like that)! If so, i'm sure you already had to do some works on my 1800...... lovely greetings from Germany!
I've never understood guys who ratchet their bikes down to the point that the suspension is bottomed out. I personally do not enjoy replacing fork seals.
Just one of many reasons I never buy used. You have no idea what kind of idiot the previous owner may have been. Thanks for being the mouthpiece for the sane. Keep it up.
Those are on my Tour and will remain. I also have a Condor chock on my trailer. Soft ties at the rear frame. Pull straps are just fine, no tractor ratchets. lol Honestly, I question the bad rap Canyon Dancer bar straps have due to Honda's prone to strip/gall aluminum front pivot.
I'm sure everybody else is already set this somehow this is my favorite video you have ever made sitting on the ratchet King Kong comments f'ing hysterical this really made my day thank you
Used these for the first time last weekend trailering my bike….wouldn’t of known what to do if Max hadn’t offered and made the point of…on this Gen GWing your gonna need them at some point…so better have them BEFORE YOU DO…I’m fortunate enough to have a camera that shows my trailer while traveling….and with a reasonable tension…bike traveled like it was riding down the road…straps never came loose…Keep on Keep ON my American Brother…Cheers from Alaska AK49👊🇺🇸👊
Good Evening Max, thanks for the video; unfortunately not everyone is mechanically minded. I know you are very busy, but when you get a quiet day and have a customer bike in the shop who trailered his bike in, maybe you could do a video and demonstrate how the Goldwing should be lashed down on a trailer. There are some videos out there but a video coming from Traxxion Dynamics would hold a lot more weight. Can you really do a suspension upgrade in half a day? Cheers.
@@Traxxion Hello Max, I look forward to seeing this video. Thanks for the suspension upgrade time estimate; just shows you what can be accomplished with experience and the right tooling.
I totally agree! Hope Max can do a video tutorial on how to properly trailer the Goldwing DCT with and without the Goldstrike Tie Down brackets. I have the Goldstrike Tie Down brackets installed on my DCT, but I understand some may not and so a video tutorial for both scenarios would be beneficial to the Goldwing community!
I speak for those who can't speak for themselves!!! We need a network of small businesses who can't speak so the owners don't have to "look bad" when defending their products!
Thank Max for the clarification of the tie down product from Goldstrike. Have had mine for years. Use it routinely on my J&S jack tie down points to stabilize the bike and when needed to trailer the bike along with cloth cross straps around the steering fork head. And yes with a light taunt tightness. 👍🏼
So awesome!!!! I dont tie my front down on my wing at all when I trailer with the my front tire in the wheel chock, I tie the rear down pulling forward against the wheel chock, theres no way that bike is going anywhere unless the trailer is thrown 50' in the air. I dont have my rear that tight just so it stays put is plenty and still has plenty suspension. I posted it on a forum with a picture and wow did some people come unglued saying I am not a safe person cause my bike doesnt have front tie downs on it and I should have my license taken away even though its an enclosed trailer. Stupid people. Great job Max
Yeah, no understanding of how any of it works. You could cross the country with two straps if you wanted. I only use 4 as a safety back up in case one fails.
I’m sure you see a bunch of dumb stuff. I was at 2 Honda shops before I was 21 working in parts department. Saturday was full of dummies and we had a lot of fun! Hondaline accessories was the only add ons we ordered. Good times.
two (2) thumbs up. I have the tie down system from the big "K" that you did a video on a few years ago.. sorry but some people just dont get it. I used to move bikes from the auctions and carried 12to 15 bike at one time. Never bottomed out the susp. never had one bike damaged.. Oh wait Did have a 1" strap break one time. but that was a worn out strap I was stuck with...thanks Turtle!!
The Kury one actually gives a really nice angle. I recommend both brands on same bike. You throw four straps on, and you have backup that way. Gone in 5 minutes!
Guilty of strapping my old K1600 GTL down to the point of bottoming out the suspension, thinking if I don’t, the bike will bounce around. Not gonna do that anymore!
What's wrong with the "engine guards" behind the black plastic covers that hit the ground when the bike falls over? Are they not able to be used as tie-down points?
Exlant video I have the gold strike tye down I use a cam buckle to strap it down can't break it not strong enough you are fantastic thanks again for your input
I need to order a set of those bracelets! Thank you for all the helpful videos! I just picked up my first Goldwing, 2024. I'll be contacting you soon to order a skid plate
Max, I have trailered my 2020 Goldwing by using 2 soft ties wrapped around the front large round Steering Yoke and ratcheted to the point of compressing the Front Tire a bit. Towards the rear I also used 2 Soft Ties attached to the Frame after removing the side covers. I realize that the front suspension shock/spring is not being compressed but the tire is. Is this acceptable... what say you? Thanks!
Yes, about 90%... You need to be careful not to have the strap drop down in the gap between the control arm and the big round head you mention. The bearings have seals there, and it is possible they might be damaged. But not certain, I'd have to study it. The price is right though!
I’ve known people that slowly destroy their motorcycle by working on it. But I didn’t know there were people that could destroy one just by tying it down.
LMAO Max that was great!!! you are so right what a moron , I love the fact that you are a straight shooter and you tell it like it is!!! Great Video. Love you products and Goldstrike I installed my engine guard from you guys and I love it!! did an oil change and took less than 2 minutes to remove the plate!!
On the other side of the coin... two guys showed up to buy my wife Moto Guzzi, with 4 rubber bungee straps. She loaned them real tie downs, and held the title hostage until they were returned.
LOL. Talk about striking a nerve, not even his product. Love the straight guy talk.
Love: it's not f'ing King Kong - it's a motorcycle. 🤣
That was a much needed PSA! And you are absolutely hilarious! Thank you Max!

Kudos to you Max. Promoting a product that isn't even yours. I have a lot of respect for that.
He is telling the TRUTH. King Kong is being restrained!😂😂
Max, you are absolutely the best. Love your products, your honesty and your straight forward delivery. Keep up the great work.
I laughed out loud when you demonstrated how they get those last few ratchet clicks!!! I have them. I've used them. They worked. Nothing broke.

Great way to describe the Idiots we come across in motorcycle world Max 👌👌👍👍👍👍👍

I totally agree, no need to wreck your bike in securing it to a trailer
Like you called it what it is! Can't fix "STUPID!"
Max, thanks for once again debunking crap that floats up on the net! I use the Goldstrike tie downs without any problems
Way to go Max!! Both for the information, the honest and also the great chuckles. You're the best!!

Paul, the madness goes beyond a child's imagination, doesn't it? My favorite was a klr owner who built a windshield from diamond plate steel.
hahahaha!
I don't even own a Gold Wing but now I want to buy one just to put Goldstrike tiedowns on.
Let me guess, it's the sound of ratchet tie downs to attract chicks?
I've always thought it was a genius product and thank you for clearing that up.
Glad it was helpful!
Subtle, but effective... 😄 ...but (as always), helpful!

You have to take a bunch of the plastics apart to get to them. Also, they are on rubber mounted subframe rails, so not ideal.
