As a drummer, you absolutely need to check out their song, _Aaj._ Their drummer absolutely slays in that song. Link below!

Bloodywood is the very definition of "wholesome metal"! They have songs about bullying, mental health, beating up rapists, general uplifting and loving your dog. Watch the documentary of their European tour, "Raj against the machine"!

Metal is NOT common in India, although I believe it is gaining traction. As for their humor, it is ever present throughout their discography/videography. They actually started out as a parody band, making funny heavy metal covers of pop songs (think Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, etc.). They are super funny in real life and don't take themselves too seriously.

    Bloodywood is a real deal.
They do all their music sans label (well, they are their own label)
I LOVE the work their drummer puts in, blending rhythm patterns you'd normally here on a tabla with the driving meter of metal.
    - I'd really enjoy hearing your commentary on those countering rhythms...I am at a loss to describe them. His background is in Jazz (Indian Jazz? Is that a thing as well... I have no idea) and he seems to get a lot of 'unison drum phrasing' with the dhol player as the song progresses.
(I"m probably wrong in that, but that's kinda what I hear)
    Main members
Karan Katiyar - guitars, flute, production, composition
    Jayant Bhadula - vocals, growls
    Raoul Kerr - rap vocals.
    (touring/video members)
    Sarthak Pahwa - dhol
    Roshan Roy - bass
    Vishesh Singh - drums
Some great songs to listen to (turn on subtitles.... some have builtin subs, some do not):
    Jee Veerey
    Aaj
    Dana Dan
    Ari Ari
    Yaad
You won't get as many views/thumbs-up as you would with a Metallica or Tool reaction, but you just might enjoy the music a bit more.
    I do.

India has issues with a political party quite literally trying to establish a quasi theocracy (or at least persecute non Hindus). Their issues with religion and the politics in this video don't even remotely mirror anything in the West right now. I'm no expert on India but I have a few Indian buddies who keep me somewhat filled in just because. The song is a bit more interesting than it already is with that extra context I think

These guys are the real deal. The most intense concert I've ever attended was Bloodywood in Dallas. A bunch of Americans singing in Hindi was a total vibe. They are highly principled, hard working people who on a personal level have hearts of gold. Very humble and kind, and always quick to laugh. Karan, the guitarist, is the primary songwriter, programming and writing all the instrumentals, with English rapper Raoul and Hindi vocalist Jayant providing lyrics. They only have the one album, though are working towards a new one. They like to come to the states, and I would highly recommend checking them live. The dhol player is Sarthak Pahwa. Dhols are loud. Drummer is Vishesh Singh, and recently became a Tama artist.
