The first thing is to know is how to fly the aircraft very slowly, just above stall speed, for long enough, to learn how to fly slowly. I love to do the spot landing challenges, AND to do my own challenges in Lukla or many small sloped airstrips in Papua, France, etc. For that, on final, I stop breathing completely, to focus better. Anyone should be able to hold their breath for a minute; there is all the time to breathe after landing. Often, we may get too conservative, and not make the changes we need, so I talk to myself: "Right, slower, faster, left rudder..." Also, on approach, move the eyes a bit. Focusing on a single point and we fail to see many things. See on my channel some videos of the landing challenges, sometimes in the top 10. Landings tell a lot about a pilot.
How do you gain so little speed with nose down? I have flaps at 20, but I gain too much speed when i tip my nose, so I keep my nose up but thay causes me to have very minimal sight of the runway, if not lose sight altogether.
@@insta88buzz reduce your throtle to maintain a good approach speed, in the c172 thats 60kts/65kts. And also, approach from a higher angle than what you are doing. That might help
@Capt_Frank I think higher is the answer. I've been coming in lower to try to check my vertical speed. Do you think full flaps would help, or is the 20° okay?
Thank you for the tips. I live in Oeiras, after 4 years, MSFS2020 never correct the green line and the trees on the beaches, between the sand and the water. I hope FS2024 came better. Regards.
I’m getting so vexed at not getting landing smoothness above 50pc in career mode even though I put it down so gently. Does skipping affect landing smoothness? I’ve only got two landings above 50pc and I get 100pc nearly in everything else. Any ideas?
@@FieldMarshalRommel23 as far as I know skipping doesnt affect it. Try to get a FPM landing monitor and see what type of numbers you are getting. On a c172 it should pretty much be anything below 120fpm I guess!
@ Can ya use mods on Xbox? I’ve put it down so gently and was sure it was above 50pc and it was 3pc and other times I’ve bounced and got 33pc. Do you think it’s my approach? It’s preventing me from progressing. My reputation is going up but I just can’t get smooth landings above 50pc. I’ve only had two above 50pc so far. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you
@ I see, how much of my landing smoothness is in the actual touch down? Should I be touching down at a certain point on the runway? Any idea what I’m doing wrong from what I’ve said so far?
@@FieldMarshalRommel23 As far as MSFS 2024 career mode goes, you want to: 1. Land on touchdown zone 2. Landing rate as smooth as possible 3. Land and stay on centerline until vacating the runway
Really funny video, full with informations! Keep going, its really easy to watch and don't fell like learning something. Great Video! :)
@@jonasheider46 thanks! Safe flights!
Thank you captain👍
You're welcome!
Amazing! I totally improved my landings, but it also applies to real-life landings! it's a fact!
@@ramirodiazbravo7846 thank you! Im really glad I helped!

@@insta88buzz 20 is okay for most runways, 30 will really really kill that speed off, but not required most of the times!
