It occurred to me after making this video where I give the tip of using a USB hub to turn off peripherals, this can also be done in the simulator due to the new profile configurations. Simply create active profiles for the peripherals you want to use and for the ones that you do not want to use set the profiles to “none”in the simulator. Now that the settings are saved for each aircraft in the simulator it will save which peripherals you use for each aircraft. I used yours to set up 2020 and was waiting for someone to do a 2024 setup. Many thanks to you again. The newer version is even more overwhelming so this will be a huge help for many.
Man oh man… thank you. I finally got to try 2024 today with my Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo and it was so daunting to have to remap all my settings. I was lost and just didn’t have the time to reconfigure. I’ll sit down with this video later and configure everything. Thank you!
Perfect Timing, and you made it so simple. The Speedbrake/lift dump are almost ALWAYS used on the big jets on touchdown, so it's a logical thing to have it modelled,....but I'm sure the human has to do it in real life, ANYTHING to get it to stick on the runway and slow it down...not all touchdowns are in the right place! THANK YOU FOR SUCH WONDERFUL EQUIPMENT!
I rarely comment, this is one of the best videos so far on MSFS 2024, very clear. They should probably employ this gentleman to do all the official videos.
Wow perfect timing! I just set up my gear and turned on the sim and then searched bravo and this pops up. Thanks again for doing this, your last 2020 video on this was so useful so I'm sure this will be too! Going to set it up now
Dude, you’re a lifesaver, I was gonna give up on setting the controls for the 747, but your video gave me hope to actually apply whatever I’ve watched to my settings. Please i would appreciate it, if you could load your whole profile for the 747 or the other aircraft’s somewhere for us to follow, we would be so thankful . I am starting my simulator phase training on the 747 as an airline pilot soon, and I was really wanting to practice it on msfs, but all these new stuff is just making things worse that made me gave up and rather practice it on prepar3d. Really appreciate you, thank you
Thank you so much!! I already used your configuration for the 2020 and was desperate that you couldn't just import those settings. Since then, I'm searching for some help with the 2024 and am so glad that you delivered so quickly 😍
Yes! A couple weeks back I was thinking "Man, I hope that guy I snaffled the 2020 settings from has another video out soon... You definitely earned a sub from me with this, sir. Thank you!
Excellent tutorial (again). The switchable USB hub tip will solve a couple really annoying problems that l’ve had since day 1 in 2020. I have 3 Logitech FIP gauges on my panel. Every time I boot the computer, all the FIP gauges initially power on, but then later as the boot progresses, 2 of the 3 FIP gauges always power off for some reason. Every single time, I have to manually unplug and replug in the two FIP gauges that lost power, which puts excess wear and tear on the USB connectors and ports. With a switchable hub, I could just switch the 2 FIP gauges off and back on again. No more unplugging. Also, I have a USB powered under glare shield LED light strip that I have to use a cheap little remote to turn the lights on and off. The receiver sensor for the remote is located on the back side of the panel, so is very inconveniently located to operate the lights. I always have to randomly aim the remote in the general direction and keep pressing the button on the remote until the lights eventually turn on or off. Also, over time, the remote batteries eventually go dead, which is just another nuisance. With a switchable hub, I could just leave the lights on all the time and just use the hub switch to turn them on and off, which would be so much easier. Thanks for great tips!
Thank you for making this tutorial for 2024. I was guessing as I was setting up my controls. This made it easy and was well presented. Now the only thing missing is a fix for the Bravo lights.
I have found that some bindings might not work in the "Airplanes" section but will work in the "Specific" section. For instance, with the 172 the fuel pump in " Airplanes" would turn the pump on but not off, however, if I set the fuel pumps up under the "specific" section the switch properly controlled the fuel pump.
@@Redridge07 doesn’t surprise me in the least. The bindings do stupid things sometimes like most things work with a “set”command. But every now and then a set binding will not work and you’ll have to bind a separate “on” and “off” to a switch.
I used yours for 2020 and now for 2024. Thank you so much! Update, setting them up was easy. Keeping them from disappearing was a whole different thing. Hopefully they fix soon.
Thank you so much. Your description was the only one that logically helped with 2020, so now for 2024 you've cracked it again. Amazing. I can now try out MSFS 24!
WooooWWW thank you soo so so so much!!! i tried to do it with the other video you had but this one is the one i was expecting, yo deserve more subs! thank you!
The 'auto Speedbrake' real-world function deploys the ground spoilers when the thrust reversers are selected and the aircraft is on the ground. It would be interesting to try deploying the reversers in the air. If modelled correctly, nothing will happen as the air-ground system switches will detect that the aircraft is in the air.
Rmag, thanks for making this it will save me a lot of time. Will you be doing a tutorial on setting up views in 2024. Thanks again for making this tutorial.
Thanks, you made it perfectly clear.. Yes on many of the real Boeing aircraft, If you are on the ground after initiating power for takeoff, the spoilers will automatically deploy as it assumes you are aborting the takeoff. Most of the jet I flew, that was the case
This was a most excellent video which answered most of my perplexing questions on how to set up my controllers in 2024. I just have a few questions if you have time to answer: 1. I assume after setting up a profile (the Complex Twin for example) you would then need to find all the other complex twins in your fleet and set the same profile for those as well? Is there a way to then save the assignment, or is that automatic once you change to the next plane? 2. I noted when assigning the various axis that you moved the lever on the Bravo from the front to the back. I had viewed another TH-camr who moved the lever from back to front and then back again. Does this make a difference? Alternatively, what about moving just from back to front? Would that method then require changing the "reverse axis" button? 3. Noting you turn off a possible conflicts with another device by using a powered USB device with on/off buttons, could you also just select the "None" profile in the game to accomplish the same thing? I had used that method in 20020 by creating a "None" profile for a controller, then making sure all the assignments were removed/cleared, thus avoiding possible conflicts between my Bravo and my Thrustmaster Airbus Quadrant for the flaps and landing gear. Thanks again. I'd give you 5 stars if YT had that system.
@@Topcat1952 1. First time you fly a new plane you choose your control profile and then it stays bound until you change it. 2. It does not matter. Forward back or both it just recognizes the axis. 3. This occurred to me literally right after I posted the video and I pinned a comment offering this advice as well earlier this morning.
@@RMAG Thanks much. If I understand item 1, the profile is saved to the plane when you fly it or load it? I'll just try it for now. No need to respond. I'll learm by doing. Thanks again, sir!
@@RMAG Thanks for all you do but we need the xbox configuration for the alpha xpc and the bravo since msfs2024 as it as 1 unit. The xbox community would welcome that since there’s nothing online. It’s a mess in msfs2024.
I have been following you since the early days of MSFS 2020 always great write ups. a comment on the 747 speed brakes (in flight) and spoilers on the ground if the the spoilers are armed as soon as the main landing gear touches down the squat switches built in the the strut mechanism will command the soilers to extend likewise once the TOGA switch is toggled on the throttle the spoilers will retract. Now in the sim life I have a problem with the Bravo to light the LED lights and engage the autoilot so what am I missing? Thanks, Ed l
@@z747pilot I tested the AP functions in the Baron since that’s what I fly IRL. They worked in there. I know from 2020 sometimes the airliners were a little finicky when it came to the AP. I don’t fly them too much. Been enjoying flying helicopters in VR. Just got a new sim pit for 2024. Regarding the lights not working honeycomb needs to come out with a new set of drivers for 2024 I would think.
@rmag I can't get the baron or any twin really to actually get the levers down into the feather position. Keybinds are correct per the videos but it just reduces them to the lowest RPM and doesn't actually go over the gate to feather. Any ideas?
It's bugged by the Sim. You have to bind just parking brake hold (or set don't remember correctly) to the top switch and don't bind anything to the down position.
I can't tell you how happy i am that you recreated your msfs 2020 video for the msfs 2024. Now I hope you will allow me to ask for a favor and i am certain many others would like the same to be answered. Can you edit this video to include the bindings for the TBM 830 and 930. As you know these 2 planes have very special throttles and these planes are favorites of many. Although i am certain i can speak for most, i certainly personally expressing my thanks.
My Bravo Bus1/Bus2 stitches are set correct by default and are recognised when activated, but dont work on the C172 even when re bound. Any ideas? Conflict binds maybe?
thanks for the great video. Did you get your button lights to work ?. The honey comb drivers won’t install because msfs 24 loads in a different directory and the quadrant drivers will not ask where 24 is installed just gave me an error.
you can move the bridge from 2020 community folder to 2024 community folder along side the exe.xml file at root of the roaming msfs directory, edit it to change the bridge location to the 2024 location. Its works for some airplaines on my setup. For others it does not
great video and many thanks. I already used your Honeycomb guides for MSFS 2020. Just one question, Propeller feather switch is when and how to use? Is it the same like reverse thrust on jets? How do I activate the reverse propeller on a prop aircraft? Also via reverse thrust function?
@@thydney1970 reverse on turbo props is the throttle usually. Going through the detent that is bound to throttle decrease. Feather is usually an emergency situation on a twin engine where you’ve lost an engine that never really worked in 2020 and I haven’t tested it yet in 2024.
Thanks for your video , there is a comment about sensitivity. Can you please tell us how do you configure the throttle sensitivity on Cessna 172 . I have the same issue , either I am at 2700rpm or 1600tpm , how we adjust sensitivity…. Thanks
That is a great tutorial. Again! I just have one problem - my reversers don't work even though I binded them as you have shown. The spoiler axis doesn't move either...
Thanks for your great Video! Would you happen to have a good idea how to setup the Cessna 208 B Gran Caravan? Wondering how to best setup the reverse Thrust for Turboprop License
Very good and concise video. One thing I noticed with my Bravo is setting throttle 2 as per instructed, the spoilers deploy when I activate the reverse thruster. Is this normal and is there any way to disable this, or enable as needed?
A lot of complaints about the interface floating around, but Im in agreement. This new setup is ultimately much better than the previous. There were some important improvements made with the new layout.
@@jay-rus4437 it’s new and more complicated. For some people more complicated means not as good. But it’s truly more versatile. See the new video I posted here for a direct example why it’s better: th-cam.com/video/z92kdCxtOWw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sCCaDF-ObDmErVHN
Great video and your previous video worked miracles on my MSFS2020. But for whatever reason, my 2 "Avionic BUS1 & BUS2" switches do not power ON or OFF my Avionics as they should in MSFS2024 default configuration for my Alpha yoke. On my Bravo, the pitch trim wheel returns to TO position on it's own when I trim the plane. Did you happen to experience anything like that with the default setup?
@@galactichazzard8932 odd. I haven’t experienced that. I will say that after I crashed a plane, it resets you in the sky with the auto pilot on and I did not realize they put the auto pilot on. You can still overpower the auto pilot with the alpha yoke, but you will not be able to trim because the auto pilot is on. that’s not what is going on with you is it?
@@RMAG No it's not. The buttons bind but don't have any effects in game sadly. Let me know if when you use the trim wheel if it goes back to the TO position inside the sim. Thanks for the reply
@@galactichazzard8932 all right I tested a few things. My avionics switches work in the Baron and the Cirrus, which I tried but they do not work in the Cessna 172 and I tried several different bindings. My trim wheel and alpha yoke trim switches both work properly.
@@RMAG Wow, now that's weird. Thank you for letting me know and checking. Since they now use (3 profiles) and 1 profile that is plane specific, could there be a difference between in the bindings of those 2 buttons between the Baron & the 172? I'm gonna look a little into that. I'm gonna try the Baron right now. Cheers and thank you again. OH darn, I think I know why my trim wheel is always defaulting to the same position when I installed the game 2 days ago (I setup all assists ON just to make it faster to get up and running) which would control the trim pich wheel. Gonna test it out but pretty sure that's what it is. Yup, I had the AI Auto Trim ON in the Assistances screen. Well, that's one thing solved 🤣
When you set the reverse thrusters that way so you actually get full use of reverse thrust? I've got it set so that decrease throttle is when I drop it below the detents. I then have the thruster levers set with toggle reverse thrusters. So when I drop it below the detents and pull the levers I activate the reverse thrusters and can then increase throttle with those in place. However, it seems to have some issues and I don't know if it's a bug or my binding. The activation of the reverse thrust flaps is delayed and it doesn't always go out of reverse thrust when I toggle the levers back to normal position. Lastly, the amount of actual reverse thrust in getting seems to be less than in 2020 despite the throttle levers being all the way forward. Thoughts? Have you played around with the sensitivity adjustments?
@@steff-the-ghoul I bind “Set Parking Brake” to one of the switches. The Sim always starts with the parking brake set so you have to switch the switch to the “on” position. After you do that it, when you switch it to off it will release the brake.
I followed your guide but wanted to ask about your bind for TOGA. I assigned it to the bind in the settings but it didn’t apply full throttle when pressed. Would love your input.
@@ramulus84 what aircraft are you using it in? I mostly fly general aviation aircraft, and it is not supposed to go through full throttle. You have to push the throttle forward what it does is set your command bars to go around configuration.
@ using it in the airliners. In the tutorial it tells me to apply 40% throttle and then TOGA to handle the rest automatically. But when pressed it doesn’t do anything.
this was a bit overwhelming tbh. Just got the honeycomb yoke, rudder pedals and the throttle quadrant for immersion but I should probably just have learned to play MSFS24 with the keyboard before venturing into using the peripherals
@@mikevadnais7722 I think the video I did for 2020 still applies. Use the complex single profile from my video and remove the mixture control. The throttle lever moves the throttle up and down and the prop lever moves it left and right.
Great video!! I'm assuming i won't need the honeycomb app anymore? (I used that app when flying with P3D...) As for the throttles, i noticed on my settings, for some reason the throttle #2 tends to move faster in the sim that throttle #1 meaning that as i am putting in more power gradually (during approach usually) i automatically get asymetrical thrust :( I'm completely new to the msfs2024 stuff, my previous sim was P3D V4 :)
Great video! Very clear and handy. But some confusing things are happening. After binding the parking brakes ON and OFF for instance, the Sim won't do anything as it only reacts to "TOGGLE PRKG BRAKES". Also the pitot heaters are reversed. Binding it OFF in the switch down, ON in the switch up position, but in the Sim it reacts in reverse. ON on the Bravo OFF in the Sim and the other way around when it's OFF on the Bravo it's ON on the sim. You're video is perfect, but it seems that the game isn't giving what you've configured. Thumbs up for the video though! 👍
On the Bravo each switch is effectively two switches. One half of the switch closes and the other opens as the switch is moved. This means the switch needs to be toggled to the off position and then back to the other position to set it. Just about to start on 2024 config (and was dreading it) but this video was a great help. Was hoping to export settings from 2020 but doesn't seem possible.

I followed your video for twin jet but it did not help with Thrustmaster setup and yes I did also use calibration while in airplane but it is all over the place and it just does not work. Any suggestions. Thank you
I have the exact same hardware. When starting in the CJ4 twin jet, the Bravo throttles (throttle 1 axis, throttle 2 axis) move as expected when mapped to their axes, but the N2 engines 1 and 2 speed moves to 100% and stays there. Looked for other mappings and haven't found the cause. TOGA switch is not mapped, so that's not it.

If you wish to use one throttle lever per wing effectively simply use the same presets for each engine per side. I tend to cheat with the DA62 and have bound both engines to one throttle lever. Works well with no troubles. Caveat this was with FS2020. I am still fighting the 2024 configuration with varying amounts of success or disaster !

But using a high spec PC and Win 11 for quite awhile and after several FS 2020 and Win updates, I can no longer get the lights to function at all. I have tried every suggestion off every simulator forum off the internet and still no joy. I have asked for technical support from the manufacturer and get nothing but an automated message confirming receipt of my request. Airplanes" would turn the pump on but not off, however, if I set the fuel pumps up under the "specific" section the switch properly controlled the fuel pump.
@@Redridge07 doesn’t surprise me in the least. The bindings do stupid things sometimes like most things work with a “set”command. But every now and then a set binding will not work and you’ll have to bind a separate “on” and “off” to a switch.
Thanks for that! It was driving me nuts. Same issue for the Alpha with Avionics, had to search for Specific bindings to get it to work.
Thank you, that is one bit that was driving me further around the bend than normal 🙂

Glad to see you again for 2024!
Great tutorial.....2020 was good and so is this one. I was wondering how I was going to get my Honeycomb controls set up....this was it. Thanks.

Great video - Any idea on how to activate the light switches like we used to have for Bravo and MSFS2020?
Looking also to that answer. I tried to port the AFB_Bridge and modify the XML.EXE file accordingly but no success for me so far...
I just have a few questions if you have time to answer:
Thanks again, sir!

you can move the bridge from 2020 community folder to 2024 community folder along side the exe.xml file at root of the roaming msfs directory, edit it to change the bridge location to the 2024 location. Its works for some airplaines on my setup. For others it does not

Thank you for your time.
