When I was 17 (1994) I built a beautiful blue VB SLE 5.0Ltr V8 (bored to 5.2ltr) with a Toyota 5 speed manual steel case gearbox to replace the 253 V8 & traumatic (trimatic) auto box (why people still insist on using utterly cr*p 4 speed gearboxes is beyond me!). I got so sick of cops pulling me over for no reason in my old hot looking 253 VB that I built the SLE to look like the ultimate sleeper, cops never pulled me over once! 😄 My god that thing flew, and when the big secondaries on the Quadrajet carby opened the sound was just pure magic! I so regret selling it after putting in so much blood & sweat on her. 🇦🇺
There will only be one Peter Brock and I had the privilege to see him race and talk to the man thank you Peter for the years of enjoyment you bought to motor racing R.I.P BOCKY
Im not a fan of Commodores but I do like the body shape of the VC -VL Series... I guess you could say those were the last of the true Holden Muscle car era...
I had all three of them VB, VC, VH and drove a VK Brocky. :) When coburg car yards were full of them and cheap as well, ended up with a fuel injected black 202 VK Calais . :)
I’ve had two vcs a vl that was down on its luck but cleaned it up and flipped it to a p plate moron who’s daddy brought it for him only to have him rite it of on the first week. Then two 308 vk calais both still in the family and not going anywhere.
Got to drive a VK SS group A back in the day to see what all the fuss was about...and no idea why tbh...Couple of years later I went for a drive in a mates Starion Turbo and thought Yep...THIS is where it's going...the little 4cyl Turbo Starion impressed me waaaaaay more than the vk ever did

The vl.grp a was the least Brock car of the lot. Essentially built by holden as you see it with only minor mods by hdt

7071t6 there was no HDT vb
The VB's looked terrible with the factory tyres/wheels...big massive flares for NO Reason with the tyres no where near filling them out
