How do you bleed the air out of the system please, I think I let it get a little low and the pipes are juddering all over the place when I go lock to lock and the fluid level in reservoir keeps rising high then dropping when going lock to lock. Thank you 🙏
not had this issue personally. it might be worth suspending the front and checking for leaks first. assuming there aren't any, I'd slowly work the steering wheel lock-to-lock with the engine running, in neutral, wheels just of the ground (no load on the rack and wheels stationary), topping up as necessary. hopefully this will purge air from the system. @@thatcheapguy525 great, I didn’t disconnect the hose like you did I just sucked the fluid out of reservoir with turkey baster. I have done the process like you did and it’s fine now, no noise and steering is light, I think it was some air trapped in system. Thank you. Ps on one of Chris fix video about renewing PSF he used turkey Baster and went lock to lock emptying the entire reservoir then fill with new fluid Shirley this gets air in the system but I suppose as the reservoir is highest point then air escapes naturally, thank you 🙏
great news Peter, glad its all good now. the method in this video avoids air locks and replaces the fluid as it works through the system but does requires a split return pipe or removing the return pipe from the reservoir - not every car has that as a practical option I guess. glad my video helped. I'd keep an eye on the colour of the new fluid. if the old fluid had been in there a long time the new fluid will contaminate from old residual fluid quite quickly. lots more videos to come on the Fiesta and related topics as time permits. cheers for watching
is yours a 1.4 tdci diesel and looks like the one in my videos? if so, take a look at my video on changing the auxiliary belt which will guide you through the driven aspect of the pump (its the upper most pulley on the auxiliary belt if my memory serves me right): th-cam.com/video/VKyjbQm1Wk0/w-d-xo.html and this video: th-cam.com/video/rYkemtQh1XM/w-d-xo.html for bleeding and filling the power steering after changing the pump. I'll be going into that area of the engine bay some time in the next week or so, hunting down the cause of a bearing noise so I'll take a look and see what its like to change the pump. hope this helps. lots more videos in the pipeline on maintaining the Fiesta so please subscribe to get instant notification.

It's NOT Dexron 3, it's Ford WSS-M2C938-A spec. auto-trans fluid. Mainly that's why the colors are so different.
I'm not an oil guy but did some hunting around before using Dexron 3. Have now covered 37,000 miles since using it with no ill effects. here's a very reputable UK based oil supplier showing their psf applications for the car: www.opieoils.co.uk/f/102203/4472/2002/power-steering-fluid.aspx or put your registration number into: www.eurocarparts.com or www.millersoils.co.uk and Dexron 3 atf spec oils come up for this generation of Fiesta

Hello mate, How many litres of this car's power steering fluid capacity?
you need about 1 litre using the method in my video. if your fluid is really bad, you'll probably have to change it again after 6 months because of all the residual muck in the system tainting the new oil, so a 5 litre pack might be a better buy. hope that helps :-)

@@thatcheapguy525 Thank you very much. Here is my another question; I will prefer power steering fluid instead of atf , because my car is 2006 year and 260.000 km. My preference is wright and does atf have any other benefits than psf?
@ I'm not an oil man so can't comment on the differences between psf and atf. I did some hunting around for an equivalent oil to the Ford original psf before changing it, hence the Dexron 3 ATF fluid. as a reference point, mine was first changed using Dexron 3 ATF fluid at 220,307 miles (354,540km) and currently has 256,580 miles (412,914km) and everything is pefect. hope that helps
