Nankervis really stepped up in that 4th quarter for the Tiges
He was more of a McGovern type defender in that quarter, played magnificent when it counted.
Nank really stepped up all night, and he's been stepping up week in, week out, for 4 years now.

Not a Tigers fan but this was an epic performance against all odds, Port had 2 week rest, home ground advantage, full list. Tigers just looked a more polished side, looked like scoring everytime they went inside 50 who looked scrappy in their forward 50 with just 12 scoring shots from 58 inside 50’s. Last quarter they completely played into Richmonds hands with panicked bombs and Balta intercepting a lot of them.

i genuinely thought the umpiring was ok, maybe a little over-umpired but it seemed pretty fair for both sides, and im a port fan, idk what game yous were watching

There were def quite a few free kicks that should've been paid and in a close Game, free kicks can have a big impact on the result. I just want the Umps to be more consistent

I felt like if anything, Port had more suspicious frees and luckily it didn't cost Richmond who were definitely the better team, having 6 more scoring shots

Proud to be a tiger supporter because we beat a superb Port Adelaide team. Port are the real deal and football can be unfairly cruel sometimes.
As a Crows supporter, first congrats! Lol, I'm kinda sick of Richmond making the GF but they do deserve it each year. I agree that commentary and even the AFL were a bit cruel to Port in the finals. Especially calling the Tigers the #1 contenders... Port didn't get top of the ladder for nothing! I do want to ask though, because this does annoy me about Richmond. Do you think Reiwoldt over sells bumps and tackles, like he treats a hip and shoulder as if he's been hit by a car... Regardless, GG

People saying that Dixon was held he was pushed under the ball, that’s legal he wasn’t pushed in the back or held. it’s called knowing the actual rules of the game you can even tell by all the port players when Nankervis marked the ball not one port player complained about because they knew it was a mark fair and square .

Port Adelaide did well this year to finish at the top of the ladder and make it to the Preliminary Final.

Correct, that was probably one of the worst decisions I've seen in a while
Hard to see if he really took possession. He was running through at pace. He wouldnt have needed to place hands on the ball to move it forward in that instance. Richmonds defence was on the ropes and probably got away with one there.
I imagine Rozee new the tackle would be there and did try to knock the ball on and was dragged down.

Especially if Richmond can start playing in front of home crowds again.
Port can go one of two ways, they can do a Brisbane and kick on next year or become a Melbourne and not deal with the hype. Will receive a much harder draw next year so it will be interesting how they back it up

I am so so so proud of port. we were never "pretenders" and us winning the minor premiership and the fact that we were consistently first since march proved all the haters wrong. even though I didn't agree with some calls from the umpire (on both sides), this game was an incredibly exciting game to watch. port gave a good fight but unfortunately, Richmond won. good luck port for next year and know, I will always be supporting you 😊💓
Port are definatly going to be in a similar position next year, and will have their chance then to get into the Granny.

As a Richmond supporter, I must say I love it when opposing teams make statements during the week against us. Why poke the bear ? Every year the result is the same, Richmond thrive on criticism and opposition taunts. All that aside, commiserations to Port who played a very good game. The deliberate out of bounds rule desperately needs an explanation. Young Noah Balta did a brilliant job on Dixon, he wont get as much credit as he deserves but holding Dixon meant winning the game. Big Nank was brilliant, and Martin, well, he just finds a different gear in big games.

Port had a good run for the season, but the luck had to run out sooner or later. Couldn't handle the pressure in the 4th Quarter .
They booed us on and off the field, but with heads held up high, ( we managed to win against all odds ). They tried to get under Tom Lynch's skin again with their tornts and Jeers ( but he kicked a winning goal and took the final mark to stop them ). They spilled drink over Tom Lynch as he spoke to the commentators, ( but it was the same player who consoled a crying little boy distraught after the game ). Their favourite son in Brad Ebert came off the ground with concussion, ( but it was Marllion Pickett who went to consul and congratulate him ! ) As the tears ran down the eyes of the Port Adelaide players and with their coach lost for words, ( it was Richmond's coach in Damien Hardwick that praised their efforts and consulted Ken Hinkley after the game ). They sang their anthem 'Never Tear us apart' but that's exactly what the blood brothers in Yellow & Black did ! THEY TORE THEM APART ! Richmond not only deserved to win this game, but they deserve to win the 2020 Grand-final for being foremost a compassionate bunch of individual's and secondly for being the BEST footballers in the league today !

I reckon a second coming of Port Adelaides 2001-2004 form. Won 3 consecutive minor premierships in a row. Made 3 Prelims in a row, but failed to grasp the first two. Win in 2004. Two more players and they will be that team. And I’m going to be honest here, I tipped Port Adelaide to be in the bottom half. 17th. At least I got the crows right with the wooden spooners. Such a big brand and difference in one year. Despite all of this lockdown and COVID it’s affected football in a big way, it’s very hard to measure how everyone will preform next year if they get back to the way it was. Congrats to Richmond, honestly really wanted a 2004 Rematch Grand Final. Even though if Brisbane make the Grand Final I’ll be glad and happy that it Guarantees Hawthorn and it’s predecessors of staff has been involved in a Grand Final every year since 2013. Dudsma really looks like a tool here - too focused on showboating and antics instead of the game. Hopefully he learns from this but this was an incredible opportunity wasted by Port. Brisbane and Port won't get gifted a fixture so soft in future years. Hartlett also completely filled his shorts with that deliberate in the last quarter.
