  • For Zelda's 32nd Anniversary, we will be taking a close look at the Master Sword in Breath of the Wild and try to figure out whether the blade itself has lost it's power to repel evil!
    I am joined by my good friends at Commonwealth Realm as we work together to find the answer to this compelling puzzle.

      you didn't solve anything about the Triforce...you basically said it looks like the triforce so therefore it must be the triforce and since it's not like the old triforce I guess it's a weapon now?...Bravo guys bravo.... It's not, it's the same sacred sealing power we have seen in all the other games, difference is this time they gave it a triforce logo. For you to actually believe the entire triforce is passed though zelda's mom to her when she died..how ridiculous.

    I read somewhere that the reason the master sword loses its power is because it forgets its purpose. Much like Link forgot his when he lost his memory. The only time when Link's purpose becomes clear is when he is surrounded by the malice. The only time when the Master Sword glows is when surrounded with the malice, used for its true purpose.

      DANIEL M. Yes, but the point is that Zelda and co. were not aware of this. They had an understanding that Ganon was consumed by Malice, but they had no understanding of why this happened, where Malice came from, or how to deal with Malice. This is the reason she is shocked in the trailer for the sequel. The Master Sword exists to seal Ganon, but 10,000 years ago, the paradigm was changed. Rather than killing Ganondorf or other incarnations of the Demon God, and rather than sealing him, they decided to put him in a state of stasis from which it was thought he could not be removed from. They decided to not kill him, since he would simply reincarnate. They decided to not seal him, since the seal could always be removed. By keeping him in stasis, he cannot reincarnate and be liberated. Hence, he could no longer return in a physical form. This is the origin of Calamity Ganon. The focus went from having the Sword seal him to having Zelda seal him. This is what Impa explains when you first visit Kakariko Village. Calamity Ganon is a form of Ganon that is mindless and controlled by pure Malice as opposed by the consciousness of Ganon. The Hylians understood this much, but what they failed to understand is everything else about Malice itself: its ability to poison waters, trigger blood moons, and take over Shiekah technology. Basically, they never knew Malice could evolve. 10,000 years later, they also did not know where this Malice originated from, because they had forgotten of the stasis the original Ganondorf was in.

    The master sword does not glow because your in a dungeon. It glows while near things tainted by calamity ganon’s malice. The reason it glowed in or near divine beasts is because the blight ganons, which are incarnations of malice like calamity and dark beast ganon, and the malice that grows within the divine beasts. If it also glowed because it was near a guardian, it would mean that the guardian scouts would make it glow. It glows near skywatchers, decayed guardians, and stalkers because they are controlled by ganon’s malice, and scout’s dont attack you because of this. They attack you because, as stated in the hyrule compendium
    “Originally built to combat ganon, these scaled down guardians were placed in shrines as part of the trials.”
    Also, if guardian scouts were controlled by ganon, they would have a violet-ish red glow, but scouts have an orange glow.

    • @NintendoBlackCrisis
      @NintendoBlackCrisis  6 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      I never said it was specifically being in a dungeon that causes it to glow. However, in every single divine beast dungeon (from my knowledge) it glows. Technically it is because of the malice within the divine beast, but me saying that it glows whenever you are in a dungeon isn't wrong at all :)

    The reasoning that makes the most sense to me is that it's all connected to the curse. The sword starts the game in a very weak state, Zelda was unable to access her powers until a desperate fight for the hero's life, and the hero himself nearly died to defend the princess, damaging the sword badly in the process. Ganon was inactive for thousands of years until he was somehow reawakened and appears to have bits and pieces of sheikah/yiga tech throughout his body as if he's been augmented... or reinforced. He barely has a physical form at all.
    All three main players in the curse laid by Demise so many years before are in a terrible state, but manage to pull themselves together for one final confrontation. Zelda's power is waning as the hero challenges Ganon, who enters his enraged form and gives up on reincarnation to draw upon everything he has left in him to fight the hero that would vanquish him and the goddess that would seal him away. The hero, with or without the sword, manages to wear him down enough for the last bit of the power of the goddess to do the deed. Ganon is dead, the power of the goddess is gone from the princess, and the sword's voice falls silent. Maybe now the kingdom will finally know peace.

    • @angelmendez-rivera351
      @angelmendez-rivera351 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Except this is incorrect. Ganon never gave up on reincarnation, and it is known that this is a translation error. Also, the powers of the goddesss are not gone. Rather, it can be understood that Zelda's power was waning because of the period of time she used it for, exhausting her magic. It can be safely assumed she will restore herself over time. Besides, you ignore the fact that she used the help of the complete Triforce to seal Ganon.
      Rather, the reason the Master Sword is not needed is because this is not Ganondorf nor Ganon proper we are fighting.

      @@Slate_Box By your logic, no translation errors would exist ever, anywhere. Because, how could the devs of, well, any product, let an error go through, and no one who speaks the language spoke up to correct it? Your objection is a little silly, because your objection suggests, logically, that not only this particular thing about Ganon is not a translation error, but that translation errors do not actually exist.
      I have no idea why the devs let the voice-acting go through (actually I kind of do have an idea), but the "why" here is also completely irrelevant. Because, the simple reality is, regardless of "why" it happened, it happened. The "why" it happened is an unknown, but the fact that it happened is, well, a fact. An irrefutable fact. Going to Google and finding Japanese gamers who are equally fluent in English who point this translation error out is not hard at all.
      If I had to speculate why, it is important to keep in mind that this game had already been delayed for 2 whole years now, and when Nintendo was doing the voice acting, they were probably in a hurry. Nintendo of America is also known for thinking that these kinds of errors are inconsequential and not really necessary to correct. And to an extent, they are right.

    It is mentioned at around 9:00 that the reason the master sword is not required in the Oracle games is because you are only fighting a mindless beast. Well, it is also referenced in BotW that Ganon had “given up on reincarnation” and had adapted his “pure enraged form”. Could this not be read as the same situation? Is the reason the Master Sword isn’t required in BotW is because Ganon is not at his full potential? It’s also mentioned that the Master Sword usually does not receive its full power until it is either 1. Blessed by sages or 2. Blessed by Zelda. Perhaps the reason the Master Sword was not glowing 100 years ago is because it was never blessed by Zelda. When she returns it to its resting place, she is seen to be praying to the sword... perhaps this was her giving it the blessing it needed? After all, it is shown to glow after she puts it to rest. Of course, all of this does not explain its weakened state, so perhaps it is losing its power... or maybe it is weak because Ganon is weak as well.

    • @NintendoBlackCrisis
      @NintendoBlackCrisis  6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Hey Catering! Thanks for commenting
      I actually bring up that possibility at 9:48 with Calamity Ganon, since in the Oracle games the final boss is a failed reincarnation of Ganon.
      Regarding DBG, what you say is entirely true. The reason for this could be that DBG wasn't the result of a failed resurrection. Ganon specifically chose to give up on reincarnation, assuming the "pure enraged form". He appears to be mindless in this section (and probably is), however what he turns into is a pure form of the ancient evil. Therefore, this is a physical form of the evil that has led Hyrule into ruin multiple times. Therefore, the Master Sword is "needed"
      However, as said in the video ancient arrows also seem to have the same effect on DBG. So it brings up the possibility that the Sheikah could harness the divine power of the sword to make the weapons.
      With that all said, there is also the spectral form. This is where things get really tricky. While you can argue that both Calamity Ganon and DBG were mindless beasts, King Rhoam specifically says in a cutscene that he was "cunning", implying that he planned from the beginning to take control of the sheikah technology.
      And since the Master Sword is never used to damage this form, it implies that perhaps it is impossible for it to. Your idea of the sword not being blessed is interesting, but 2 problems:
      1. You could argue that she was doing it in the memory "Subdued Ceremony"
      2. It doesn't have that incomplete look found in SS before the blade is blessed by Zelda
      Hope I helped! :)

    • @WillowFalls
      @WillowFalls 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      NintendoBlackCrisis oh wow, I totally did not expect you to reply! Thank you for taking the time to read my comment and replying!
      I see your point with the spectral version of Ganon, however there is no real proof that Ganon came up with everything on his own, after all, he likely had the Yiga Clan aiding him. It could be that King Rhoam simply assumed it Ganon’s idea, when in reality the Yiga Clan did all the planning. Of course, there’s no proof of that either, so that point is complete speculation. That being said, I think it has less to do with whether or not he can think for himself and more to do with the fact that he doesn’t seem to be at his full power. As far as fighting goes, when you fight him in the sanctum he is only using Sheikah tech and when you get to the DBG section, the most he can do it shoot a giant laser at you. Definitely less power than past incarnations of Ganon have possessed.
      As for the subdued ceremony being Zelda’s blessing, that was likely her intention, however the fact that she hadn’t awakened her power leads me to believe that it did nothing. As for why it doesn’t like like the incomplete form of the master sword seen in SS... eh, you got me there. I would say that it’s glowing state is meant to be a sign of it reaching its full power, but the fact that it doesn’t look like that the whole game eliminates that possibility.

    • @terukisuke5324
      @terukisuke5324 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      NintendoBlackCrisis But the Subdued Ceremony was back during the time where Zelda was salty that Link was able to wield and talk to the Master Sword, not her. She never gave it her “blessing,” aka her consent. It’s possible that her troubled feelings kept the potential of the Master Sword to its minimum until the time where she finally came to understand Link, which was close to the time where he “died” and she unlocked her powers.

    • @Chaos89P
      @Chaos89P 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Catering Fears I think I can answer why the Master Sword is not in its incomplete form, and for that answer, we go to _Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess,_ and even _A Link To the Past_ and _A Link Between Worlds._ I haven't honestly played the game in a while, but if I remember correctly, the Sword is in its "complete" form even though it isn't being powered by the Sages in all four games I mentioned. My theories in why it looks like it does in _Wind Waker_ is that playing lock-and-key to Ganon's power physically weakened it, or it could be that Link need to *_PROVE HIMSELF_* to be the Hero for whom the world despairs, as is the case in _Skyward Sword._ In _Breath of the Wild,_ he must've already proven his worth just by drawing it, much like in the previous four games. I'm actually betting more on the "Proving himself" theory than the lock-and-key theory since it seems to hold the most water as you see it in its complete form more often than incomplete. Never thought I'd be making a Zelda theory.

    • @WillowFalls
      @WillowFalls 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Chaos89P ah, that does make sense. BotW Link is worthy to wield the sword as he is (he just needs to build his strength). So the Master Sword is weak because 1. Ganon is not at his full power, so neither is the Master Sword or 2. The sword was not blessed so it wasn’t at its full power. Although for 2, I would assume a blessing wouldn’t be necessary because Link is already worthy, so 1 seems the most possible

    I think it would make sense that the sword would weaken. In Skyward Sword it was the Goddess Sword and needed to be tempered in the three sacred flames. If you go by in-game chronology, then a massive amount of time has passed since the initial tempering. It could simply need another tempering. I think that would be super cool to add to a game that comes later in the timeline.

    Ok the sword and the hero are linked to each other. What if the Master Sword was weakened by Link's feelings towards the burden of being a hero prior his amnesia. Tbh, after Link awakens from his slumber, he seems more jolly in certain situations. Plus he wouldn't know what his previous self felt exactly (I think, this is entirely speculation since I never been amnesiac xD). So maybe after the awakening, the master sword was like "he has the mindset and drive of a hero, now I can shine!" I dunno xD

      Actually given how it has been shown that the master sword occasionally has needed blessing or to be enhanced in the past I personally think that these actions aren’t needed for it to keep its power but rather to purify it as it is the sword that seals the darkness what if that means that as it’s used the darkness it seals builds up in it weakening the divine power until the darkness and corruption is removed

    I have a why theory about why The Master Sword (MS) would lose its power. In short, it breaks the rules.
    This connects to a larger theory/understanding I have about the world of LoZ. I call it the Law of Transformation (LoT).
    We say that Demise cursed himself, as well as Link and Hylia, to keep coming back to the world in different forms: Reincarnation for Demise, Rebirth for Link, and heritage for Hylia through the Zelda Line (ZL). But I don't think it was him casting a course, as much as him telling link something he knew about the world, the LoT.
    The LoT is as follows: _something can retain its existence and strength, so long as it is willing to change._
    This seems to apply to everything in Hyrule
    *Examples*
    1: Link, Hylia, and Demise. As stated before, Link stays around by being reborn whenever he dies, Hylia does so by being passed down the ZL, and Demise clings to life by having his Essence of Hatred (EoH) reincarnated into beings like Gannondorf.
    2: Gannondorf often tries to survive by transforming into the primal beast Gannon.
    3: Look at monsters like Bokoblins, Moblins, and Octorocks; their appearances vary wildly across games.
    4: Look at the dragons in Skyward Sword (SS), and then the ones in BoTW. 3 dragons, colored rec, yellow, and blue; each seeming to watch over a different area of Hyrule. I think they may be the same 3 dragons, but having somehow taken on new forms and names to survive.
    5: Look at the Sacred Flames (SF) in SS, and then the 3 Sages in OoT/Wind Waker (WW). They're very different, and yet serve the same purpose.
    6: Look at the Races: Hylians, Gorons, Zora, Kokiri, and Gerudo all change to varying degrees. The Zora (depending on the timeline) will either become or diverge from or turn into the Rito, The Korkiri become Koroks to escape some tragedy, and the Gerudo stop kidnapping men, opting instead to send their women out to find husbands beyond their desert.
    7: Look at Hyrule itself! at the various maps of it across different games. Same basic land marks for the most part, but the rest of the the landscape changes far faster than it would be able to in our world.
    That's enough of that. Now you see the problem, right? After the MS is completed in SS, most games have just... stay that way. It doesn't change or take on different forms, it just stays exactly the same... forever.
    And, cleary, that's against the rules. And if something doesn't happen to truly renew the _Blade of Evil's Bane_ then... it will die.
    Worse yet, I think something similar has already happened.
    The Hylian Shield (HS) you get in BoTW can't be the original for 2 reasons.
    1: the item description suggests their were many of them, when there should only be one
    2: It can be broken.
    So the HSs in BoTW must be copies, fakes. The real having ultimately suffered the fate that the MS is heading towards.
    Well, that's my theory at least. Thanks for reading.

    What if the master sword was not pulled from the stone at the beginning of the BOTW storyline, but passed down and awarded to the champion by the royal family,. In games past, a challenge was needed to prove the validity of the warrior of legend and that challenge may not have been met by link before the Calamity Ganon arrival. This could be why it is degraded and does not glow in the beginning, he hadn't proven himself and awoken the actual power of the sword. This would have been set in motion by Princess Zelda AFTER Link was down for the count and the power only awoken as link grew stronger in the BOTW Story.

    This gave an idea, what if reason the master sword is weakening its because of the ancient sheikan technology? Think about it, we know the sheikah of old created the guardian beast, and the slate, but not its power source, so what if the source its the master sword, and since its power being used to power so many things (the Guardian beast, the ancient technology), it simply doesn't have enough energy to keep going.
    It would also explain why the guardians were possessed. Just powering up the beast and the guardians, it can function, but stretching it up to also power up hundred of guardians caused it to turn of at the moment Ganon appeared, as it tried to use more energy than it had, and Ganon took that change to take over the machines, and later the hero, who failed to defeat them with the depowered sword.

    Another conclusion that you might be able to draw, is that just like Zelda, Link also did not hold the full power to wield the master sword. Only after the resurrection was he ready to use it. I haven't put much research into this idea, but going by the conclusions you've reached in this and the other video, It is likely that somehow the master sword also became something that was passed down. I mean, we don't really see the scene of 100 years ago Link drawing the sword, we see current Link doing it. Zelda couldn't use the Triforce because she wasn't trained, or ready to use it. Perhaps something similar happened to Link?
    There are many conclusions that can be drawn from the implication of that scene, and I am now woke to the possibilities. Thanks for the amazing vids NBC and Commonwealth Realm!

    Also, due to time travel in Skyward Sword, it seems possible that at the end of SS...there were 2 swords!
    The Master Sword in the Sealed (Hylia's) Temple (OoT Temple of Time).
    And the Goddess Sword in the Statue of the Goddess.
    And in the stain glass depiction of the Picori (descending from the sky!) giving the Hero of Men the Picori Blade (Four Sword)... the Picori Blade looks a lot like the Goddess Sword.
    Could the Four Sword seal Ganon because it was the Goddess Sword?
    It's also worth noting that in ALttP art, the upgraded Golden Master Sword looks a lot like the Four Sword (especially TMC art).
    Also, if/when the first 2 games are finally given the remakes they deserve, I would not be surprised at all if the Magical Sword was replaced by the Master Sword.
    Actually, I would be very surprised if the Magical Sword was NOT replaced by the Master Sword.
    Also, Timeshift Stone (blue/indigo/purple).
    It's almost certainly in the hilt of the Master Sword, while the blade is made with Master Ore (golden/orange/red).
    What else might be made with Timeshift Stone?
    Pedestal of Time.
    Ocarina of Time.
    Harp of Ages
    Dominion Rod
    Gossip/Sheikah Stones
    Pirate's Charm
    Mask of Truth
    Lens of Truth
    Shard of Agony
    Sheikah Slate
    Sheikah Tech?
    Who lived in Lanayru before it was a desert?
    Who served in the 1st Temple of Time?
    Who oversaw the Ancient Robots?
    Who built things out of the mined Timeshift Stones, including all the tech in SS?
    I think all the Sheikah tech in BotW is just the advancement of Sheikah Timestone/Master Ore tech in SS.
    What else could be made of Master Ore (golden)?
    Goddess Harp?
    Silver/Light Arrows/Bow?
    Could the Rod of Seasons be made of Timeshift Stone and/or Master Ore?
    What about the Wind Waker?
    Timeshift Stone and/or Master Ore could be how Sheikah tech can damage Ganon.

    The biggest thing I can see happening in future Zelda games is basing from your discussion is the fact the sword might break at a certain point. Okay hear me out.
    I am taking the discussion of the theory with a grain of salt if you will. The sword did not glow fro link on the verge of death. Yes the game logic and mechanic links up here. But the sword needing to recharge is a vital fact. If indeed Demise's Curse ring true it did not mean the sword will be there forever. Goddess made or not it somehow has a finite amount. Taking it from the Wind Waker game that losing the Earth and Air Sage. What if, just what if the sword indeed is losing it's power, and Nintendo is building up the FINAL Zelda game where you indeed have the Master Sword and indeed talks to Link but mid game of early game it breaks blocking a killing blow(since either Link's shield gets thrown away or he doesn't have one in early game) but here's the twist. You need the sword. With this information I can see the future games about restoring or forging a new Blade that dispels Evil and with the quote the Sword is as Strong as its Wielder theme will be realized. What better way than to have a sword Literally made for Link?

    One thing that this video doesn't go into regarding the master sword, is it's original inception. We only hear of it's first creation in the non canonical skyward sword manga, however as a general rule it's safe to say that anything from the manga that doesn't contradict the actual games can be considered accurate.
    Within the manga, the master sword is described as a holy weapon, wielded by the gods. There are several weapons of similar power and quality to the sword, although we never see them. The sword cannot be used by mortals, so they have to break the sword, then reconstruct it using the prayers of 6 sages. The newly forged master sword is now a sub-holy weapon, that may be wielded by humans, while maintaining the demon-repelling powers.
    What's important to realize about this lore, is that there is room for OTHER holy weapons. I would say that the bow and/or arrows of light fit the requirements, as they are capable of hurting Ganon. The silver arrows from the first game were the ONLY method of killing him, even the best sword in the game couldn't do it, so it's safe to say this is also one. Perhaps the shiekah ancient weapons are powered by either holy power, or perhaps a substitute holy power, a simulated holy magic.
    As for the sword losing it's power, this has been seen throughout the series, which you covered very well already. I would argue that while the exact effects of it's hindered power may differ, it is based on the same lore

    • @NintendoBlackCrisis
      @NintendoBlackCrisis  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, that's why I made sure to cover the Four Sword at least briefly since I didn't want to make people think the Master Sword was the *only* weapon given the power to destroy evil.
      I also did my research on silver arrows when making the script! I just didn't include it because I didn't think it would contribute much to the theory (it was already a long video!).
      Thanks for watching!

      There's also the Lokomo Sword that holds a similar function to the Master Sword to seal/repeal evil. The swords are vastly alike. In fact I'd argue that the Lokomo Sword is basically another Master Sword entirely, just from a different country (New Hyrule, which serves as the Lokomo race's homeland) and blessed by different higher beings (The Spirits of Good). Heck, the Lokomo even have their Demon King to worry about (Malladus), so it make sense for their Deities to go about and create a Demon repellent too. Chances are the Lokomo Sword can the job done in defeating Ganon(dorf) if brought over to Hyrule.

    Putting a barrier up that required the Master Sword would remove the players ability to go straight there and fight Ganon. This essentially destroys the true freedom that exists in the game.

    Usually a longer period of time take place aswell, so it probably hasn't become 'awakened', it is still in the reparation cycle. The hero dies every single time in the time it takes for another hero comes along, meaning it has a long time to repair itself before it is needed again. This time the master sword was used against beings wielding its power(example: semi can hit a car and take little damage, but hitting another truck will harm it a lot more). That paired with no guardian keeping care of thw blade for all the time before the kingdom found it probably led to a massive decrease in power

    Now a interesting though:
    If the sword didn't glow 100 years before. Could it be that Link, despite being a gifted swords man capable of besting adults at young age and defeat hordes of monsters while protecting Zelda, hadn't truly mastered the sacred power of the Master Sword?
    Could it be that, even after awakening the Master Sword's strength, Link didn't achieved a complete connection with the Blade's spirit and couldn't make use of the totality of it's powers?

    • @NintendoBlackCrisis
      @NintendoBlackCrisis  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had a thought that perhaps the master sword was handed down from his father to him, so since he didn't technically "earn" it the sword was useless. But from what I've seen in a few official books regarding the sword, he did indeed pull it out from the pedestal 100 years before the Great Calamity.

    • @falcore91
      @falcore91 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NintendoBlackCrisis even having drawn the blade himself Link may not have completed the whatever journey was needed to unlock its true power before the arrival of Calamity Ganon. Similar to the realization in Windwaker that the blade needed some extra help, but I this case Link didn’t get off quite as easy for this mistake.

      Both the hero and Link were pretty beat up.
      Zelda even says that Link is not as strong as he once was, same with the master sword.
      We see this in Age Of Calamity (although it's canonisity is contested) that both Link and the sword are ridiculously over powered, especially in the face of Ganon.
      Both may never fully recover unless given enough time.

  • @jade_14

    I think the main clue is the cinematic when we see the Master Sword NOT glowing in the hands of Link. I think, that is because Link is not worthy, isnt yet the Hero reincarnated or he isnt pure of heart. He was lived in Hyrule knowing he was a hero in the beggining. He view the sword like a responsability, like something he would do or the other expect, NOT his destiny. Is like "Im Link, I have the Master Sword, so I need to slay Ganon". not like "Im a PERSON, I need to SAVE Hyrule. I need a sword."
    Only when he wake up and loose all his memories. The Link of pure heart is born. Is a blank Link with one purpose: the purpose of the reincarnated Hero. He wake up as the hero, so is now worth to wield the Master Sword. Maybe it has the Hero soul and thats why he was capable of wield the Master Sword in the first place, but it was not a hero yet.
    (sry, my english is not so good.)

    In the game it is stated: "The knowledge of the Sheikah tribe was given to them by the Goddess of Wisdom". It would make sense that Anchient arrows can damage Ganon because of that, and that the Sheikah could upgrade the Master Sword

      But if you care about your craft, you wouldn't make gameplay changes without any lore reasoning especially if it's a staple item for the series. The Master Sword is core enough to the story / gameplay that it would be in the forefront of attention for Eiji Aonuma and whatnot.
      I'm not saying for sure that they thought of the consequences or the lore, I'm just saying that it wouldn't be a shocker that they really did thought of it and acted upon it.

    If master sword was key to defeating calamity ganon, than it would take away freedom. Because the initial idea of the freedom in zelda botw was that you could go to ganon immediately after starting and kill him.

  • @RelyeaGaming
    @RelyeaGaming 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It's interesting the idea of the master sword losing its power. Based on the evidence provided it seems like the sword acts very differently in different games. It's almost as if it is not the exact same sword in each game just like it's not the exact same princess Zelda or link in each game.

  • @ShadowBlizzard2010
    @ShadowBlizzard2010 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think that a cool way for Nintendo to explain all of this is to connect all of the Ganon events saying that in the years between resurrections/reincarnations while he was in spirit form he worked on weakening the goddess' power and connection to the sword, deminishing its power along with with the Shikah (potentially) drawing on the goddess' power for their tech. I think that a story arc where the BOTW Link or the next incarnation having to free the goddess and restore her connection to the sword would be amazing. Also could explain why ganon didn't come back in full form (diverting power towards his mission with the goddess to play the long game, using a projection to do what was needed to further his cause in Hyrule). I think that a game with that could be even bigger in size than BOTW just based on the scope and importance of the mission.

    • @NintendoBlackCrisis
      @NintendoBlackCrisis  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say...I think the best example to give is how maturity isn't necessarily reflected on your age. Something like that, but applied to the Master Sword. WW Link may have been stronger in spirit when he first obtained the blade, so his soul wasn't sealed in the Sacred Realm :)

    It could also be the fact that, like Zelda who was not able to unlock her power at first, Link was not ready for the Master sword in the 100 prior of BOTW, so, unable to unlock its full potential. It is the first game where Link has the Master Sword at first (and they did not explained how they knew link was the chosen hero or how he got the master sword), and to get it back again, you need to accomplish shrine, like in other game where you had to complete a few temples before getting the master sword.

    The shieka tech like the guardian plus plus axe is somehow stronger than the sword that seals the darkness and is blessed by the goddess. That and the fact that to unlock the complete master sword, you are faced by 5 Sheika monks, and only the owner of the swird can unlock shrines (the champions each only get 3) it seems that these Sheika did have some role in the use of divine power and the master sword

    I think Light Arrows are basically a replacement for Silver Arrows, as they were necessary to defeat Ganon in the first game and in A Link to the Past.
