He is now a Piston. They recently hired a really good shooting coach in Fred Vinson. Hopefully they can turn him into a respectable shooter. His potential is through the roof.
I think it's crazy that a lot of draft analysts have him outside the top 10. He has some serious question marks as a prospect, but he showed way more upside than just about anyone in this class. Seems like people just want to write off athletic G-League Ignite guys cause the track record hasn't been great so far.
I don't claim to be a shooting expert but his 3 point shot looks pretty good. Biggest concern imo is hand placement. The rest of his mechanics look pretty solid. I can buy in on his 3 point upside for sure.
Honestly, I think he should be the number one prospect. In my opinion he's the only guy that has any sort of superstar celling in this draft. Everyone is talking bout his shooting but he got nice form and his confident with it, you see many players struggle with percantages even in college where you have shorter 3 point line(like for exaple Ant shot less than 30% from three in georgia). He's got the makings of the elite 2-way wing and with lack of super high celling prospect in this draft I would easily take him first.
Who needs Draft Express when you have Hoop Intellect. Ron Holland is definitely a solid prospect and can be a viable two way player depending where he plays.
@@smoothhoops3739 If teams use him as a handoff threat and he’s able to hit the corner three he’ll be fine and he’s an elite defender. He was also an elite slasher playing against pros at 18. Not everyone needs to be a primary.
@smoothhoops3739 He's not gonna be KD. The free throw efficiency and shooting mechanics show projectability to a competent 3 point shooter. Remember he's quite young and just led a professional team with no support at 20 points a game. There's a lot of growth he showed. A lot of reason to believe there is a ton of potential on offence and defence even if he isn't ever gonna be Kyle Korver. There are very good players that are only average distance shooters.
His motor and footwork make me a believer that he can be a team’s best wing defender. His youth leaves room for optimism. Portland may have found its next Kersey but it needs a Drexler.
Why a low floor ? He is a good defender, athlete and he has already a good scoring back. What can be difficult is his three point shot, but I am sure a defensive slasher player can find a spot in the worst team in the league.
Holland would fit so well with charlotte. LaMelo runs the offense with Miller as an secondary ball a handler. Mark Williams on the P&R with Miles and Holland on the wings/corners. Hollands only weakness is his shooting. His defense is NBA ready, he can slash crazy good already and his playmaking is good enough. Plus Charlotte have LaMelo so he wouldnt need to playmake a lot anyway
Don’t want him anywhere near the hornets he wasn’t even the best player on his own team and they already have miles bridges who can pretty much do everything holland can
@@MeloCapalot1 that’s a terrible take miles was one of the hardest working players on the team this year he averaged almost 40 minutes a game and still matched his stats from 2 years ago him and miller were literally the only reason we had any kind of offense going and this is without him playing for an entire year don’t know how you get lazy out of that
Hmm. You can probably use him like an Alex Caruso type of a player. Great defensive energy, that's going to be his calling card early on and his way to minutes on the floor. He's a role player at best IMO though you'd hope he'll be prime role player Andrew Wiggins.
I’ve been waiting on this video! Holland is a great prospect that is a jump shot from being an all-star level player down the road. He’s the new, high-demand, perimeter defender that can contain the great perimeter scorers coming up in the NBA today. Expect Detroit, Charlotte, Toronto, and Washington to take a long look at him.
Curious to get some answers on this. Don't you think guys in the G-League may have a smoother transition than college guys as it regards to understanding NBA concepts because the teams they face use those concepts and plays all season ?
Portland makes sense Ime loves defense in Houston San Antonio would be a sneaky good spot for him to learn Memphis is known for the gritty style. Washington could use him as well
