      Coming from Rift S and from what I hear PSVR 2 is a nice upgrade from that.

    You're knowledge, excitement and fair coverage of the PSVR2 coming from a PC experience background has won me over. I enjoy your channel and will look forward to all of your PSVR2 videos. My main experience is only Psvr and quest, so it's nice hearing your opinions in relation to other headsets I know nothing about. You're a vr and tech enthusiast first, and that's what I appreciate the most!

    Doesn't surprise me cos PSVR1 was the most comfy I had.. with Rift CV1 a close second (everything else felt janky inc quest 2/vive ). It's actually a bit lighter than PSVR1 too! I loved the floating front design on PSVR1 as my face could move, smile etc.. felt less 'locked in' so could stay in longer than other HMDs. The only bit that hurt after some time was the hard sides but they've made them softer on PSVR2... so hopefully it'll be even better!
    I hope mine comes on Wednesday... still prepping to ship (UK)

    I’m absolutely dumbfounded. PSVR was a cloud. A piece of tech on my head that I forgot was even there. PSVR 2? I feel like I have a dull knife pressing again my forehead for two hours. Also, my eyes are close together and the lenses crush my nose when the dial is set appropriately.
    My comfort solution is to wear a handband (!). The headband seems to make up for the lack of padding. As far as weight, I don’t notice a difference in weight, if anything I felt the original was balanced better and feels lighter. There significantly less padding on the halo band. I can’t wrap my head around no one mentioning this in any review, or preview. It’s a huge step down, in my opinion, based on comfort. Other than that, it’s a brilliant device so far and there’s a lot of potential. I’m excited to see what Sony releases next.

    I'm sure mixed reality as a technology will go from strength to strength, and portable MR headsets might one day legitimately replace a laptop. But for now I'm glad Sony has gone for a pure VR gaming design on this. Comfortable, light-blocking, light-weight. Not needing to care about being compact or needing to go with pancake lenses + LCD panels.
    It's great to see PlayStation still invested in and believing in VR as a gaming medium.

    I took my PSVR1 out the other day and the rubber paddings on the forehead and rear straps were falling apart. If the PSVR2 is made of the same materials, are they designed to allow third party facial interfaces and headband paddings to be changed? All they needed was just to use Velcro instead of glue.

    • @CHROME-COLOSSUS
      @CHROME-COLOSSUS ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cushioning on PSVR2 is different from OG PSVR (which had a sponge material covered by a layer that could deteriorate).
      This new stuff is a silicone-based material that shouldn’t ever soak in the sweat and oils like the old one did.
      Although we don’t yet have info on swappable padding, the recent SONY breakdown shows it’s at least pretty easy to remove them, so that’s encouraging.
      I would love to see some 3rd party magnetic solutions. 🤞

    • @CHROME-COLOSSUS

      @CHROME-COLOSSUS ปีที่แล้ว

      Incorrect. OG PSVR could be worn for many hours at a time with no marks to head or face, and zero discomfort (if worn properly).
      PSVR2 is even lighter, better balanced, and has more flexibility built into the halo.
      You will not find a more comfortable headset, and discomfort will simply not be an issue for you with PSVR2…
      …WITH ONE EXCEPTION:
      If you have a smaller IPD then the lenses CAN pinch your nose somewhat because of the eye-tracking tech that surrounds them.
      If your IPD is smaller, check into reviews that address this.
