Watching duncan travel the world for the whole episode looking for flax when they had 9 seeds in the storage system. (And im fairly sure it doesn't spawn you just get seeds from breaking grass) Is so quintessentially yogscast
My favorite part is they wanted the Gyrocopter to go get the Kelp in the far away ocean and then Duncan just stumbles into the ocean full of kelp while desperately searching for flax
There was an old Duncan channel series on Skyblock with Lewis, Duncan, and *other* which had heavy use of Botania and its bullshittery, and then other series later with Harry and Ravs where they all independently learned it was shit.
I think this series is basically de facto Lewis' series. It just happens to be on Duncan's channel because that's the only place they do minecraft letsplays anymore
In the original series, Simon was the boss with no idea what he was doing, and who did most of the building. Now Lewis is taking up the mantle. It wouldn't make sense for it to be Duncan because Duncan knows how to play the game.
I like how Lewis is mining straight up with FTB vein miner enabled but rather than disabling it he just goes through several more pickaxes than is necessary.
Lewis Vein Mining straight up through the mountain was great cause all he had to do was not vein mine or change to the like straight line mode and he would've gotten out perfectly fine but instead he kept using vein mine to go up like 15 blocks per pickaxe
He's had exactly one explanation of vein mine from the lads, and it was "hold this button to mine a bunch of it at once." I give him a pass on this one. (I doubt Duncan knows about it either.)
Honestly pleased. I was fully expecting to be let down with boring content but here we have Lewis being confused and making the mistakes I grew up loving. If people want to watch a serious playthrough of these mods, they're out there, but the Yogscast guarantee (of failing and then cheating) keeps me here! :D

I'm so glad Barry is here to attempt to teach Lewis how to play Minecraft, but it's amazing seeing him still playing the exact same way he did 14 years ago 😂
Building within chunks is actually good for performance and preventing large machines form breaking if you are all out exploring. So Luis' build in chunks mandate is actually beneficial in multiple ways.
Trying to find flax and not breaking grass for it, so make string for gyro's, so they can fly and get some kelp, and finding kelp in the process is peak Yogscast XD
I'm not sure how well the original has aged. I watch it out of nostalgia (and find some parts a bit crap and easily skippable) If you are curious there are "best bits" out there which condense a full 100 part series into 90 minutes to give you a feel of them :)
Honestly, the amount of Botania needed to make the calcite is really minimal. As long as they make a create wood farm and have some of it get turned into charcoal (which they should do anyways to give Lewis some more building options), they can keep a bunch of endoflames constantly chugging out mana
The original Jaffa Factory series was what got me into playing modded Minecraft way back, this is awesome, I can't wait to go back and watch this series from the start.
