    Thank you for this masterclass, friend. Great job! My biggest problem with the media in whatever form: real news is sold as fake and fake news is sold as real. Who is going to keep 'them', and thereby us, honest and well informed?

      "Masterclass"!?😱 thanks for that great compliment! I agree. Theres so much information, how are we supposed to sift through it all and know what to believe. When I went to college, we had to carefully find credible sources, now, Twitter feeds are considered adequate sources and EVERYONE is a damn expert!

    Great reaction, indeed a long video but I love your breakdown of the lyrics. And you’re the first one to notice all the details in the video too. Love that. Looking forward to the next song Shoemaker, one of my favorites of the album. Hope they will perform this one in the upcoming virtual concert in about 2 weeks. So exited for that 🤩 Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱

    The girl in the video is a daughter of one of the production crew. Your observations of the vid are so similar than mine and very accurate and you are maybe the first one who notices Floors frustration. And it is sad that the selfies on the accident scenes like what Kai is taking are real nowadays, my son is a paramedic/firefighter and he has told me some stories.

  • @konidvor

    Very cool analysis! I like that you touched on the topic of anthropology and the evolution of the human psyche. These are some of my favorite topics. Why do we behave in one way or another. I love social anthropology, it explains everything there is to know about people. In addition to Dawkins, I read books by Desmond Morrison, Matt Ridley and several other authors on these topics. Therefore, it is very clear to me what you are talking about and it is clear that Tuomas also deeply understood these topics. When I watch his interviews, I sometimes see how well he understands people and where he has such calmness and tolerance towards inept interviewers. lol

    • @HistoryBuff
      @HistoryBuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, I think it's really interesting how memes survive and evolve in ways incredibly similar to genes. Its like the baton has been passed in evolution because, in my opinion, we're through evolving. In fact we are already starting to de-evolve because there are no more survival pressures to prompt natural selection. At least not biologically. Dawkins even goes on to believe that AI will take over and the existence of the gene will have been long gone

    • @konidvor
      @konidvor 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HistoryBuff As far as I know, there is no such thing as de-evolution, I mean it didn't work that way, Well , I understand what you mean when you say, that natural selection no longer works in our society, it's true. But there are other "engines" of human evolution and they still work and evolution will never stop. As far as I know, we have sexual selection, just changed its criteria. Matt Ridley (a student and colleague of Dawkins) writes about this in an interesting way in his book, the exact title of which I do not remember. People change and biology will always come first, the fact that we behave in the same way as our ancestors behaved 50 thousand years ago is dictated by biology and our genes. I have always admired that the psyche is also part of the inherited information and we are already born with certain "presets" of how our thinking and our emotions will work. Well, okay, this is already offtopic. Returning to the song, I can only say that I love it very much both for the lyrics and even for the manner of performance. I always felt that she was singing, as it were, a little mocking, I don't know how to explain, but very unusual. Other songs don't have a similar tone.
      As for memes, I agree that it is the complex "nominative" information that essentially shapes our thinking. We, the way we see ourselves, perceive ourselves and those around us is a set of memes. Without the nominative system, we are practically unable to analyze the world around us. Therefore, if we do not take into account the biological part, then it turns out that our consciousness consists of memes. Everything is somehow called and has a description, our memories, etc. So yeah, we are walking heaps of memes :)
      Sorry If I behave as smartass… just like to talk about this things.

    I was lucky enough to have a little discussion with he director of the video (on the internet), every single thing you say is right (except for the little girl, it's not the real Floor's daughter, she protects her ;-) ).
    The message is exactly what you say: internet is good, but don't believe, don't follow anyone, don't forget it's just a screen "life", behind, there is a real life, a real face (nobody is perfect, in their mind, in their look, in their way of thinking, sometimes they also gives advices they don't follow), just be yourself, think by your own, and also, don't forget, sometimes, to put the phone on your desk and appreciates what natures and "real world" offers.

    I don't care that this is long, it's interesting & yeah I was 15 when internet was really a thing I was engaging in. I'm glad I did my awkward teen years without the damn thing being filmed & put online.
    You missed Kai taking the selfie while Emppu is being beaten up.
    I do love the dark turn this takes. When Tuomas is in the gas mask in the oil with the back n forth the silhouette kinda reminds me of oil rigs doing their thing

      @shirazzza 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HistoryBuff Thank you! I had had a couple of relaxants & was trying to take in the whole clip & yeah it just kinda hit me with the reversing of the film cos that's not how humans move. I live in Australia so most of our oil rigs are those big pontoon things out at sea but I've seen shows where it's just a field of these machines digging up the oil & I was like huh ok that's kinda cool.
      I love the song. Who would have thought that we would have such power in our hands at the ready? Don't know how to change a tap washer? Check out TH-cam! My air con was throwing up an error once when I went to use it on a damn hot day so I was like ugh don't want to be without it & have to wait to fix it. So got on the manufacturer site where it showed me how to get the error number, what it means & how to fix it. So I did & it worked.
      I've connected with all my English family & it's really nice to know there's a bunch of people out there who look like me a bit & I can see how they're going.
      People have had cars stolen, animals go missing & found again with help from the masses.
      There is just SO MUCH GOOD if you use the internet like the tool it was intended. Poor kids now getting bullied 24/7 & I've seen atrocious things like acts of violence etc on social media, people ripping others off. I love the internet, I love the ease of access we have now. It's all in how it's used. I have several chronic illnesses & lots of pain so I'm able to connect with people without having to try to get out of bed & get changed & face driving or whatnot.
      I was very resistant to trading in my old faithful Nokia for a galaxy - first thing I said to my housemate who gave me the phone was that this is damn skynet & you can't change my mind. Lol my comment still stands
