Hey everyone! I just checked the sound myself and I have no clue what I did! 😳🤨 It sounds like there are multiple channels for one video, so next time I sit down, I’ll double check the audio settings and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Yikes. 😬🤦♂️🙃
You definitely have a dual signal path issue. Let's try the simplest explanation first: can you exclude the possibility that you left your speakers on while recording? Perhaps check a short recording with speakers on to reproduce that possible error & see how that sounds?
I think I figured it out, I use OBS and I had the sound coming in two ways, the screen capture and sound input… absolute rookie mistake, but luckily, not as beginner as having my speakers on. I really appreciate the willingness to help! As much as I work to make things look as professional as I can, I’m learning as I go. You should see me trying to figure out Twitch, lol (that’s not a plug, it’s like watching baby Bambi learning to walk, lol)
Audio track also plays too fast. What you can try is record it with you're camera next time at 25fps or 50fps (because source is from BluRay @23.976fps) then this small speed up is hardly noticeable. Maybe there are other options in OBS so that this doesn't happen, but what I notice is that the videos often don't run so smoothly anymore

The song has a very deep meaning that you might have missed. This song is from the album that is same name as the movie that uses it as it sound track. This is not a kids movie or Disney. It is not a bad movie. But after watching the movie you will see the song in very different and dark light.
Also Floor is not Finnish. She is Dutch. Band is Finnish.

When camera record has a different fps than used video, things like this can happen; video runs faster/slower, audio is out of sync, or you video isn't smoth anymore because of fps conversion by encoding. You can watch this tons of times on other uploaded reaction videos.
There's a person on stage, who could were a t-shirt with text "Floor is my backing vocalist"; you are about to discover another great singer soon, when you follow the Nightwish path.

Her phrasing is so good because she is Dutch. In The Netherlands it is mandatory to have some years of English taught as a secundary language. Floor is overall good with languages. Besides Dutch and English, she is also fluent in Swedish as she is married to Hannes van Dahl, the drummer of the band Sabaton. She also tried to learn Finnish, but that is still rudimentary, as is her German skills which she had to pick up again as she participated in the German TV show 'Sing Meinem Song' in 2022. She sang also in various other languages.
Isn't her father half German, so there's a reason why she speaks the language quite fluently? 🤔 I mean, I've heard her speaking fluent german in an interview.
Here in Finland, every child studies english min. 11 years (from the age of 7 to 18 years).
Of course a lot of us study multiple languages (english and others) after that in our secondary studies, like college etc. 😊
Generally Finns below age 50 are quite good in English but pronunciation is 0. That's where the iconic rally English comes from. @@anuisotalo9467
@@anuisotalo9467 That's the thing we in the English speaking world seem to be amazed by other languages learned by not native english speakers but tbh instead of expecting others to know our language we should learn others like many non native English language speakers do in their language learning paradigm - it has always bothered me, (former secondary school teacher 11-18)

I guess partly because English has become the international business language, we have a kind of "British exceptionalism" mentality here in the UK where we expect anyone visiting our island to speak our language, but then we go on holiday and expect the locals to speak our language too. I wish we had a better attitude towards other languages.
I wish I had learned another language when I was younger too. I was always interested, but never got around to it. Hell, I don't even speak the native language of my own country fluently, and that's always a source of shame! I've been learning Dutch for the last year, and I think my comprehension levels are now at a similar level to where I am with Welsh. I can understand quite a lot, but still struggle to put my own sentences together!
Hey David, 74 years old hippy from the Netherlands (Floor & Arjen (Ayreon) country) reporting in: Floor's education is not just The Rock Academy in Tilburg but she also studied Musical Theater and Opera. I think in total she studied music for 6 years. She'll have no problem blowing everybody's mind performing in The Phantom, Hair, The West Side Story etc. A lot of people already suggested to talk to Disney and Bond producers to suggest Floor. Keep the excellent reactions coming my friend ... Shine on🤘
Still getting a slight echo although much better than the last one. Bear in mind that all 15 songs at this concert were written for the previous two singers, one operatic( Tarja)and one pop (Anette) and Floors nails them all giving them something extra.
Still VERY bad - certainly a poor reflection of the perfect sound that they achieve in their live shows whether in a theatre of stadium

Ah David, Floor is Dutch, and she speaks Dutch, English, German, and Swedish, she has some Finish too, She speaks better English than I can speak Dutch :)
She is a great story teller and extremely good at getting the emotion of the music over to the audience, just wait until you hear the bassist sing too, he would be, and has been a lead singer in other bands, the two of them, Floor and Marko, go so well together that a lot of us are quite sad that Marko had to leave the band.
I've seen them twice and both times the concerts were packed out and fantastic evenings.
Cant wait until you get to "The Greatest Show on Earth" and "The poet and the Pendulum" you are in for a treat!
"a lot of us are quite sad that Marko had to leave the band." That's putting it mildly. Marko was a crucial part of many songs that are not the same without him. Sure, they do what they can with Floor doing more of the work and Troy chipping in, but Marko's absence is really leaving an impact.
This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!!
Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch.
Awesome tune , although it is kind of a pop/rockish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit".
Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this.

The way Tuomas writes, it doesn't matter what the subject is or the tone of the song, he always infuses it with catchy chords and melody, that's what makes their music so much more approachable than other symphonic metal bands.
there is a video knocking about u tube where Floor sings in 8 different languages including Latin and Spanish, fair play to her she has worked her butt off all her career she totally deserves all the credit she now enjoys, she is a very very talented singer.....nothing but upmost respect for her she is a God send.

Hey David great reaction man. This Storytime Wacken performance was my introduction to Nightwish and Floor four years ago. Nothing has diminished over this period. I actually went and watch them live last year June in Gelsenkirchen Germany and WOW it was like a divine pilgrimage 😇😇😇😇

Nightwish will always surprise you with their music, you can't predict where they will bring you. It's indeed about building layers, removing layers, awesome breakdowns. They love what they are doing, but they are all very humble. Yes, she sings very high, 6 C flat is not a problem for her.
Dutch people are very multilangual and speak English almost fluently. Floor speaks Dutch, English, German, Swedish, working on Finnish and singas even in Spanish.
Her technique is flawless, the way how she switches from head voice, mixed, belt in seconds is just WOW. Also the unheared high notes she belts out for 12 seconds....insane.
Tommy Johanson is another amazing singer who keeps attention to the sentences😊

Most of the band is Finnish however Floor is Dutch also there is a sixth member who is English.

I mostly only watch reactions to about 5-7 certain songs from Wacken 2013. But, I try to catch everyone for Storytime the last 4.5 years since I found them.

Besides training in rock, classical and opera, Floor also has some musical theater training, which could partially explain her phrasing and the use of various physical expressions. Whatever it is, she is the total package.🤘😊

She's able to be correct in phrasing starting at D-flat. Not many performancers are able to do that, even opera singers.

I've came for Nightwish but with so much talk about phrasing and storytelling I have to recommend you few songs from a bit older bend (not even a quarter century older): "Iron Maiden - Rime of the Ancient Mariner [Flight 666 DVD]" and "Iron Maiden - Fear Of The Dark (Live At Rock In Rio)"
Bruce Dickinson illustrates the entire concept so well, I think you'll like it.
The juxtaposition of her insane range and presence and this bands hard hitting insane talent is incredible

This was a big Nightwish single. Thus the more accessible sound. Love the commentary David. Floor attempted to learn Finnish as well. She speaks Dutch, German, English, and Swedish fluently. However, she struggled with Finnish.
For war stories, check Sabaton. Floor is married to the Sabaton drummer.
When Floor sings the chorus you'll hear an attack and release. The Attack: I Am The Voice of Never Never . The release: Land. The Attack she pushes out the words almost angrily then the release this soft breathy like a sigh almost. We gotta love the playful well thought of skills a singer does when using different placements.

I said it last time - something is really odd about your sound. It has far too much reverb and not what is on the videos themselves.
Others have mentioned the sound - I think its getting myddied by all that echo.
I think you mean mezzo-soprano. However Floor has a 3 octave range up to F6

Yes, Tuomas IS a huge movie fan and he wanted creepiness for the songs on this album! Where's Michael Myers!? Have a look at "Scaretale"!.... or the entire Nightwish movie and/or album "Imaginaerum"! Layers and Passion! They understand what they are presenting/performing and believe in it!

I love how Floor uses harmonics in her voice. I have 2 favorite bands. Nightwish and The Warning. I checked your channel and see you have not reacted to The Warning. If you like Rock&Roll with a twist of lime, I think you will be impressed with this trio of sisters from Mexico. They have been a band for 10 years. They are currently 23, 21, and 19yrs old. They were invited to play 2 songs at the VMA/MTV show in 2023. I would like you to react to both songs. They aren't long, so it would be a piece of cake. First, MORE. And second, EVOLVE. Easy to find on their channel, THE WARNING. They have an ARMY too, just like Nightwish!!

Check out "Phantom of the Opera" performed by Floor and Henk Poort. Henk is a Dutch opera and musical theatre singer who performed the role of Erik some 600 times on the Dutch stage. Floor got to perform the Phantom with him on the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers. His condition for performing with her, was that he be given the opportunity to perform the song with Nightwish. Then COVID got in the way.

Floor Jansen (Yansen) is Dutch and not Finnish. We all learn English at school in The Netherlands. And even other languages like French, Spanish, Italian, German etc.

In this music video Tuomas combines the recording of his composed music by the London Symphony with images of the orchestra session, 2 beautiful singers, named Johanna (one he later married ), and a superb metal guitar solo played with the orchestra, combined with Don Rosa drawing the cover image of Scrooge McDuck. It is a delight.

from Japan and dress up like princesses, but they shred and rock better than almost any band out there today.
