Hi mate, another awesome video. Do you know how to take of the shelf underneath the pollen filter housing? I can see it has one bolt each side but is there anything else? Much appreciated!
@@MTechGuy Spot on - Legend!! Thank you! I don't supposed you've ever investigated the rad fan not working due to a faulty signal coming from the DMC control unit in the white box on the right of the bay? I've got 12v at the fan connector and 4v on the signal wire when the air con is on but the fan won't start. Neither with a brand new fan or the original fan. 130i fun times :)
@@MTechGuy Any chance for a video regarding possible solutions for the flickering CCC? Got a 130i over here with the same issue...Regards from Germany mate
@@MTechGuy Great to hear that. Immediately subscribed. All I read is that the issue is related to the LVDS Cable which can not be separated easily. In my experience the issue is more present on hotter days.
@@sannyalam1120 True, mine seems affected by the weather more than anything too, although it’s got real bad lately! It’s going to take some figuring out but I don’t believe it’s the CCC unit itself, certainly screen related, wouldn’t surprise me if it’s the cable due to the open/close action
Hi again mate, finally got my 130i, picked it up from chch today :) so will be using heaps of your videos, they are awesome Did you ever get around to expanding the fm band frequency to Nz from Japan?
Cheers Man, good to hear from another local! Not had anything done to the radio/Nav so far, I use the CD changer or the aux most of the time. My M5 has a band expander which works a treat
Anyone attempting this job needs to be warned about pressing down on the microfilter housing, because there is a risk of snapping off the two plastic tabs on the upper housing. These are the two tabs positioned closer to the front of the vehicle when the upper housing is installed, and are for two of the screws that secure the upper housing to the vehicle. The microfilter upper housing sits a few millimeters above the lower housing when it is properly installed, and there is no support if the upper housing is pressed down with any force. The force will bear on the two tabs, which are not reinforced, and they will snap. The video shows the microfilter fitting easily into the housing, but I found that fitting the microfilter needs to be done with care and the right amount of force. It is a snug fit and does not simply seat itself. Whoever fitted the old microfilter in my 2009 E81 got it wrong and cracked the plastic frame of the filter.
Hey pal, my 2012 E82 doesn’t have the same icon in the service menu for the cabin air filter (oil and brake fluid icons are there). Any idea what the icon might be? I’ve had a good search online beforehand and can’t seem to find an answer. Cheers!
Hi M tech guy! Loving your videos :) May I please know where you got the cabin filter from in nz? if you have a link that you can share on these products :) would love to rock the same setup as you
cant find this brand in eu/sweden, any other similar product? i only see the once u put at floor behinde the seat and lock the spray in position for it to spray all over in the car.
Autoglym and Liqui Moli both do a similar product you might find easier to get in your part of the world, maybe online from Europe/UK? Do you use the A/C much in Sweden?
@@MTechGuy I have a dusty smell coming in my 120i 2007 model when I run the heater, no heat comes. but no smell when I run the AC. any idea, I was thinking the filter behind the glove box but it seems like they dont have one.

I can’t seem to find the Valvoline Odour Eliminator anywhere. Do you have any other recommendations?
I bought it here in NZ, but there are many similar products out there
Thank you. Been waiting for this one.

there is an easy way to change the region on the radio to AU which picks up all the frequencies in NZ.

Some aftermarket filters don’t fit like OEM, and can make seating the lids difficult

Amazing!
I tried something like this using lysol and It smelled like the cleaner for days and didnt help.
Does that cleaner have a smell or is it neutral?
Yes, smells like spearmint but certainly not strong. Its about the only one I can stand!

Troquei a bomba de combustível e filtro e o problema não foi resolvido. Existe alguma programação a fazer depois da troca?
Hi. I’m in NZ too. Where do you buy the filter locally? Thanks
Good to hear from another local! I think I got these from Pelican Parts in North America, or get them from the dealer here in NZ

Olá , boa tarde. Sou do RJ Brasil e tenho uma BMW 545i com um problema no retorno do combustível dentro do tanque. O que pode está acontecendo ?
THis is cabin filter? whats the filter called which is suppose to be behind the glove box?
Cabin/Pollen/Micro filter. There is no filter behind the glove box on these cars

Hey mate. Crashed my M6 and wrote it off :(
😮
Gutted! Did you keep the salvage? The engine alone would be worth quite a bit
@@MTechGuy no i got rid of it. I didn't want to deal with the headache and wanted to move on. Crappy way to end lockdown haha 😂
Fair enough! Yes good news being out of level 4, bad news about the M6
You didn’t use foam first? Not necessary? Because I got 4 cans of foam, but not the spray (small can) 😳
No foam, just the aerosol used in the video
@@MTechGuy oh ok thanks a lot 👍 And… greetings from Belgium 🙂
