when you said "color grading" I automatically liked your video. a lot of people keep bashing the final product saying it looks horrible. thats because they dont know jack shit about lens distortion and color grading. good job on the review man you're amazing!
Good points, but it’s not really right to condemn those of us that don’t know about such things....
We are all collectors and have higher standards for this piece.
We paid a damn good amount of hard earned money, and have the right to our opinion, just as you have yours....

I only wished that we could have moved the arms back and fourth as well as it's head, other than that it's pretty much perfect.

Good review, I appreciate you taking the time to review this item. This made my decision to not get it the best choice for me personally. I don’t like the rosy cheeks or how the portrait looks. I’ll wait until I see the Hot Toys version. Plus I’m mostly into 1/6th scale figures anyways. I think the Child animatronic for $60 is a good enough for me. Thank you for another good review. 👍🏽

I can honestly say that I much prefer the prototype , but it is a beautiful piece!
The rosiness is a major issue for me, but maybe it can be tweaked by someone I know who knows what they are doing
Truthfully, I shouldn’t have to do that, but I must have him!
What I am really wondering regarding that, however, is that if Sideshow gets enough complaints about it, then they will alter it, and new customers will get a less rosy version ....
Perhaps they will offer their earliest customers compensation in some way... they are a highly acclaimed company , so that would be a great move...
At any rate, I just cannot wait for him to arrive! I absolutely LOVE Baby Yo, and this is the piece de resistance of my collection.... the most authentic of all the collectibles produced!
DOPO’d this when it was still at $350 before I figured out hot toys and sideshow were two different companies. Dropped my pre-order for this and went with the hot toys version I think it’s the better one IMO

This figure definitely looks better when displayed lower than eye level... The only trouble with that is that anyone within arms reach will want to pick him up!

I just bought the Mattel Plush 28 cm Child, plan on doing some custom work to it.. i can have some fun working on it and saving a lot of money lol.
Was the black The Child box dented or was there protection inside brown cardboard box? I've been trying to get a campaign to get people to get Sideshow to put in a larger box to protect the box with artwork.
Even if we ever do learn this little guy's real name, he will always be baby yoda.

@@JedhaPatrol hopefully that means it will not be mass produced. Not that I would want to ever sell it in the foreseeable future. It would just be nice to know if limited edition really means that its a limited number made. Numbers on the base would have made more sense.

Received mine today. I know a lot of people are complaining that the cheeks look too rosy, to me they look absolutely perfect in person (at least on the one I received). I think the color is boosted on some of these product pictures people might be posting, you cant boost the color up on pics you take of this w/o it blowing up those cheeks.
You do get glimpses of his feet a few times in the show.

im stairing at the making of baby yoda on disney plus and I think that the skin is actually dead on. Your comment about the colorgrading of the film definitely affects the way we see it on screen vs how it actually looks in real life color wise. Perhaps the cheeks might be more rosey but who am I to say to be sure. Havent opened mine yet its still in its box atm.
Looks amazing to me, maybe a little rosey on the cheeks but this is without a doubt going to be the best representation of The Child we get in 1:1 Scale, especially at that price.
Good review. Nice take on post production and color grading affecting the colors. That makes sense. Still I will wait for HotToys. The face is way too pink for my liking.

You chose ... poorly. Just the seam between head and ears is a horrible.
@@ondrejspencer6639 like I said "we will see" and at the end of the day it's personal preference. You can buy whatever one you like the best.
I ordered mine on Jan31st and still waiting... and waiting... and waiting... I'll need to get my friend who's great with makeup to tone down those cheeks and nose. And won't be able to put him on the high shelf because he'll be looking at the ceiling.

The sculpt as you would expect is fantastic but the horrible heavy handed rosacea red cheeks and the head being set on an upwards position is a big no no for me. I will wait to see Hot Toys final production figure before making my decision.
