- Yes, I finally did it, I caved and got the Sideshow Collectibles The Child (Grogu / Baby Yoda) Life-Size Figure. Unboxing and Review of this 1:1 scale figure that I have been on the fence about. Come see if I end up liking it.

From what I’ve learned one of the reasons for the “odd” colors is because this model is accurate to the screen used prop... which does look different to what we see on screen. Kind of like if you ever have seen actors after a play...their makeup is NOT ok for real life

I got the Rubies The Child. It is an all resin sculptured figure and cost me $179. I love mine. He is a definite alternative to the Hot Toys and Sideshow editions, it you just want a life-size figure to display.
Ive seen that one in person. I'm not fond of it
The fuzzy little hair on his head is my favorite part of him, I think. You just want to pet it! 😍 For the price, I think he definitely should've had at least jointed shoulders so you could pose him with his arms up to some degree. I suppose, though, when you're treading that line of statue and doll/action figure, it's hard to know where everything should fall. 🤷♀️Anyway, I'm glad you have him and it was great to see your review for him! Hope the Hot Toys one will be out soon! 💚

I love mine! The paint job, as everyone’s saying, could definitely be better, but he is just amazing, and I have decided not to touch the cheeks at this point.

I am glad you got him! I got both too, I couldn't decide which one. So far I am happy with my Sideshow one, I know I will enjoy my Hot Toys one too. I got an email, it sounds like mine should be shipping out in April or so.

I like his hair & feeties but wish you could move his arms. He looks very majestic on his stand though (& very cute from the side).

His cheeks are so pink because you embarrassed him by showing under his robe. He’s really cute, he looks like he’s a little miffed that you did that.

Don’t use baby wipes it might take all paint off! -anything with alcohol etc… Will damage it.
Several people who have modified theirs have used baby wipes. You do it gently and sparingly and it does wonders to the over redness of the statue.
I much prefer this boy to the Hot Toys one. If I had money like hay, I would get this one and give him more mobility (see Adam Savage's video). But as I do not have that, the Mattel basic version (customized by me) has to do.

Yours looks much cuter than some others I have seen but I do think it is how you show him off. For the price you pay for him, you shouldn't have to do modifications to make him more fun. There is something about going after a $400 item with a saw that makes me wonder why they just didn't think ahead. (In the doll world whenwe mix heads, bodies, and other parts to create what we want, we call them Frankendollies.)
Because I have one I have the 1 that you it plays hide-and-seek then I have the 1 that talks and then I have the 1 that doesn't talk and this moves as arms or whatever and I think you talk to I don't know but none of them have have hair on its head so I'm kind of like not happy
I’m not a fan of this one. I’ve seen so many videos and there’s something not quite right about the face but I don’t know what it is. I’m still waiting on the Hot Toys one to be released as I preordered back in February.
What? It was made by the FX team that made the original screen used puppet. There is not going to be a more accurate one released.

So far not one company has 100% really captured the Baby Yoda face. They are close but still not quite there. Waiting to see if that figure will come out one day.
Never expected you buy this I’m impatiently waiting for hottoys be shipped to me I like hottoys more color issue can be fixed put duct tape over letters on shipping box if it’s gift

I think she seems super excited and appreciative of all her “Children”. One of the reasons I watch is because of how excited she gets even over the maybe not so great products. Plus she has ordered from the UK and paid crazy shipping for things if you watch other videos just because she wanted it. Jealousy is not the way 😘
