I would love a whole video on how you used your iPad in the classroom.
I just realised I have a wireless mouse that sits on my desk next to my keyboard the entire time! I never move it from my desk - why have I not thought of taking it with me around the room??? Thank you Michelle

Logitech hardware such as mice and keyboards are great too because they can all be integrated into one central USB plug-in. Meaning you don’t have to have an individual USB for your wireless mouse, keyboard, etc. it can all be easily programmed to run through one. And if you take that USB out and put it on another computer all the devices will work just the same.

I use a mini clip board for wireless mouse when I am on the move in the room. Works great. Gonna add 1 more to your list. I recently purchases a USB adapter/extender...with SO many items that use a USB this has become necessary.

As someone brand-new to the world of iPads (just got an iPad Pro w/Apple Pencil as a graduation present 🥳), would you ever make a video about your favorite teaching/productivity apps and programs JUST for your iPad?? I bought that same voice amplifier about 3 weeks ago. It has seriously been saving my voice teaching high school. It's also fun to wake up students when you blow a whistle with the mic on 🤣
I can’t live without my wireless mouse!! I have found that it works on my leg if I’m not at my desk. At first the kids think I’m magic, hahaha!🤣
I absolutely love this video! I’m definitely sharing with my teacher friends! The ideas you have are not only efficient but pretty cost effective as well! My iPad is my must have! I use it religiously especially when it comes to the planner you and Bridget created! The voice amplifier is perfect especially for everyone forced to teach in a mask (getting the pop star image in my head)!
I’ve been so blessed that my district has provided so much technology for us, especially this past year. I’ve had wireless microphone system that’s even built into my sound system for several years now, and I have a wireless keyboard that I use to run all my sides since my computer is in the back of the room. We all got new document cameras last year when we started the year virtual along with a second monitor which was a game changer! I do really want to get an iPad, but I’d get a 12” so I can better use Forescore which allows me to house my music scores and piano music digitally. I manage but it’s a little heard reading music off of a 9” screen!
They are more expensive but I’ve used the IPEVO do-cam and uplift which are very portable and well made.
Michelle, you are the biggest inspiration to me! I was so hoping to meet you at GYTO this year in Orlando but I couldn’t make it. I’ve been watching your videos since my junior internship and now I’m in my 3rd year of teaching. I teach 4th grade Math and Science. When COVID first hit, my school nominated me to be on a Distance Learning cohort to teach other teachers at my school how to implement our tech resources with students. I had so much to share with them because I had watched your tutorials.

I got a voice amplifier last school year because I had a very unruly class and I was not going to stress my voice. I got a lot of complimentson it!

Not sure if you have talked to any districts in Austin but be sure to look into Eanes. They have been one of the best organized, Tech forward districts around. Our district has always worked closely with Eanes for Tech model and working together as things are implemented.

For a keyboard and case for the iPad i would HIGHLY reccomend the logitech slim folia for adults and children. I have been sooo happy with mine!

My team teacher and I were just talking about getting a wireless clicker. I also have the document camera you mention, because you mentioned it.
Using it to point on students papers is genius, especially while teaching through COVID. Felt weird trying to do that last time our students were f2f, I was standing far off so students would see I'm maintaining my social distance, but it's hard to give correction from three feet away 🤷

Our district recently changed out our smart boards for Promethean boards. They are amazing. I’m going to look into that clicker as there are USB ports right on the front of the board!! Thanks for the info! ☺️
They have airliners for smart boards that work with prometheans. I use them to write on the board (math teacher, here!) while I move around the room!

A solution I have for the documents camera is to make a Google meet with my phone and use the camera as a document camera

Love the video, technology is one of my favorite things. I went to your website, signed up for your email list and tried to download the technology starter kit but nothing happens. When I click on it, the screen goes white and that’s it. I’ve tried on my phone, iPad and computer just to get the same result. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Thanks
Lifehack for a document camera, my school district has Apple TVs connect to all the projectors and smart boards. Then the teacher can connect their classroom iPad (or their phone if needed) and screen share to the apple tv with the camera
Yup... that's a great option if you have that set up. I've personally never had an Apple TV provided to connect to 🤷🏻♀️

I have the hue camera but there is no zoom button you have to just move the camera closer so this is a con. Does that doc cam have a zoom in button?

I got the document camera that you recommended. It's been great, but I can't seem to get the camera to zoom on a smaller image. Do you know how that works or what user manual I can get to set the zoom in function correctly?
I would look up whatever manufacturer you got it from and check their website. Odds are they have a manual there or do what I would do: Google the product name + how to zoom.

Yes. Just no laser pointer.
Yes, it would! It's all about personal preference. I love that the wireless presenter allows me to JUST click between slides. With a wireless mouse, I could accidentally click something and exit my slideshow. For me, the wireless presenter is easier to use for slides.

Wouldn’t an air mouse eliminate the need for a wireless presenter?
Technically, yes. However, I like having the wireless presenter because it has JUST the buttons to click forward or backward in your slides and the laser pointer. I don’t have to worry about accidentally clicking something and exiting my slides while I’m in the middle of teaching. Completely personal preference!
For gym when we go outside she has a voice amplifier so if we have any drill we will know lol
Do the items that are compatible with Macs come with 2 adapters since Macs don’t have USB ports?
No, they don’t. Old Macs still have USB ports (my MacBook and iMac both do). You would need a USB-C to USB converter (which is standard for anything you would plug into USB on your Mac)
