Great tips!! “I learned everything I know about Google from Michelle Emerson” should be a T-shirt! You got me through the 2019-2020 school closures and remote learning, and now you are continuing to help me be even better! Thank you so, so much! Now…you go make those cookies…I mean….copies! Lol 😂 🍪
I am a student that is currently going to school to be a teacher and I have used some of these organizational tips that you have shared and they have been such a life saver!!!!! Thank you!!!! 😊
Hey Mrs. Ferre, this is Peyton from your second grade classroom back at Pemberton, im in 7th grade now and was so lucky to have you as my teacher, PS the football themed day was awesome!
Hi Peyton! It is so good to hear from you! I miss you so much and hope you're doing well (I can't believe you're in middle school)! Thank you for all your kind words :)
I am a 71 year old teacher who came out of retirement to teach virtually. I’ve learned so much from your videos this past year. I am actually more tech savvy now then many of my younger team members (and they’re all younger than me!). Thank you.
I'm not a tech saavy person so this video was incredibly helpful to me! I recently became fundraising chairperson for the community band i belong to and the board uses google drive. Ive been figuring it out as i go along, but you made my life a lot easier! Thank you for all you do!!!!
Good morning. I so appreciate your tutorials, I am moving into a rural area and this will be beneficial for me. You have helped me land me my new job ,with your portfolio . I am so grateful, with your guidance I see I will definitely improve more . God bless you, take care.
Love the tips! I don’t know about anyone else but the side bar on the right side of drive has been a game changer for me! I’ve been working on something and needed to multitask at the same time. Click on the side bar with tasks and boom! Definitely sharing with my teacher friends right now!
I love these tips. I provide reading professional development for my county and I am soooo going to share this video as a requirement before they start the PD. I give them lots of files that they need to download, so your video will help with organization!!
Great video! I will use these tips for my personal files since my county requires us to use the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Thanks for such a clear, detailed tutorial!
The side panel is a great feature I’ve used since available. I now use it with the students to access their Calendar. I work with small groups so the calendar is shared with them and they know when to come to my room. And we use Google Keep as a digital planner with students instead of a paper one. I use it for lesson planning.
This is very educative. Kindly also produce an episode of how you produce these productions. What devices are necessary and how you produce quality videos, explanation and illustration
Good day, I love your tutoring and cannot stop watching. I would love a tutorial on using group break out room with students,on google meet please. I also want to understand the benefits of group meets, for students on the virtual space. [ google meets please]. Peace and blessings
Michele- would this save to offline feature automatically save things if you are adding to a doc or slide offline? You have been very helpful in your videos!! Thank you!
Great question Ann! If you have the Slides tab open and make changes while offline, it will update once your internet is restored (as long as you leave the tab open)! Hopefully this helps! Thank you for your kind words and support!
Thanks for a comprehensive video to make life easier. Are there any work around for converting PowerPoint files that include sound files into slides? When I convert my files it always says “some features” won’t work. I teach music so many of my powerpoints have sounds
Hi Michelle, I just listened to your podcast about google slides! Learned a couple things I didn’t know!!! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️ I do have a question though…. I’m all in for turning my presentations over to googles slides also (I love google slides and your tutorials got me started)….except one thing that is holding me back is that I can’t write on them!! 🥺 I use inspiration which allows me to write/highlight on the slide, but I hate that I have to make my presentation on one computer and use a flash drive to transfer it to my other computer and if I need to change something I then have to change it on multiple computers!! Drives me bonkers. What do you do with that time where you stop and talk about a skill and write on a slide to express a point, an idea, or show an example??? I would love some ideas!! Thanks for all you do!!!!
Hi, I like your channel! Can you make a video on how you make your thumbnails for your teacher videos? I am wondering how you do it because I always like your thumbnails!
Great tips as always! Starred folders/files and making files available offline have been a lifesaver for me! Happy anniversary! (Easy for me to remember because Oct. 10 was my mom's birthday.) That's a really cute top! Was that an Amazon find?
Do you use your personal account as main account at work? Or do you use school issued account for work stuff? It would be convenient to use same account for work and personal stuff.
Nice video showing what’s available. I use most of those features but I haven’t used the power list but I can see now how it may be helpful while on the fly. What were all the things in your google keep? Maybe a video about that would be helpful. They look like sticky notes. I have digital stickers that I used last year as full remote teacher. I would like other ideas for using google keep.
Michelle, thank you for the video. I have a few questions about sharing files/folders. Prior to the question, know that I have watched the video you shared where you gave step by step directions explaining how you shared your files anticipating your move out of your district. I am extremely organized with my Google Drive and have folders within folders within folders and that is proving tricky, not to mention time consuming, to recreate sharing and copying to my personal Drive. I am also anticipating moving out of my current district and don't want to lose access to my files. My district settings will only allow my personal Drive to be an Editor when I share my district files. Here are my questions: when I share a Google Drive folder from my distrct account (that's filled with a plethora of folders/files) with my personal account (which becomes an Editor), and then my Distrct account is wiped clean, do the shared folders/files stay on my personal account cloud space? Am I still able to access them at the Editor level? Does my access level on my personal account change? Thank you for any added information.
Michelle would probably know better than I do, but my experience would tell me that you might have trouble accessing the files. One of our admin team members recently left, and I took over some of her responsibilities. She shared her files with me (as an Editor) before departing, but during the next school year, they were gone. I think this was due to the school shutting down her account, but it could also be that she deleted the files. I have read that making a copy of the file makes you the owner, but maybe this shared drive idea would be easier.
@@amietedeschi3203 I was instructed by my District tech guru to save all my folders/files to a flash drive and then load them to my personal Google Drive since I was not able to make my personal account a new owner.
I love using google drive myself but we are not a google classroom and I'm not sure how to get my second graders to use the features of google classroom since they don't access emails. With fourth graders I shared files with them that they opened in their emails. Any ideas how to utilize this in younger grades?

Google Drive is one of those apps that really is great, however, not many people know how to keep organized when using it. Great tips!

Never messed with the side tab....definitely gonna check out the to do list feature
❤️❤️ I'm a student but love your tech videos as they help me stay organized. Thanks
I just became a level 1 Google Educator thanks to you over the years and YOUR videos! 🙌

Needed this! Thank you!
Awesome as always!!! Thank you for the tips and tricks!

Thank you!! I can’t wait to try out these tips. I just know I’m going to save soooo much time!
I honestly get more out of your Google videos than I have ever gotten out of a PD.
Folderception 🤣 I love that 😂😂
Thank you so much! Your videos are so helpful!
Thank you!! Did not know about Starred Files! Now I hope I can find those files so much faster because I starred them!! Yay!!
I look forward to your videos! So interesting and helpful. Thank you for all the work you put into helping others!
I actually opened a "class" for my team in google classroom, I find this is better than shared drives. More organized
Great tips for a grad student, too!
Thanks, god bless everyone.
Thank you, I learned a few new tips. 😊
Thanks for the tips! We use Google Drive too ☺

Hi Michelle. Are your birthday labels available for purchase? The ones from your frappe cups?

Thanks a lot❤️
Hi. If you are familiar with Schoology, can you make some tutorial videos especially for creating tests. Thanks!

Can I make a google slide presentation permanently a forced copy for everyone but me? Or do I have to change the url everytime I send it to students?
A little off subject...HOW CAN I CHANGE THE THEME COLOR TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM WHEN I ADD MY OWN BANNER?
PS - Your smile is gorgeous! :)
Early squad.
How do you access the “offline” versions when there’s no internet?
That’s what ‘offline’ means - you can access the files even when you don’t have internet access - they are saved to your device. 👍🏾
You would go to the drive as if you did have internet and those files or folders will be in color if they have been toggled to offline.
