While Sentinel was the stronger character, in my experience Cable is the biggest scrub killer by FAR. While he's extremely powerful (Yipes forgot to mention that he also has the highest defense in the game, so he's literally the hardest to kill on top of everything else), Sentinel, if not backed up by Doom or Commando, is nowhere near as threatening to the average team as Cable. And even with one of those two, Cable with Doom is still more dangerous. Cable, more than any other character, forces you to play completely differently, and his screen coverage is such that if your team isn't built to handle it, you basically lost at the character select screen. Cable/Anti-air Assist is the biggest hurdle in this game for new players to overcome. One that 95% of players will never overcome. Cable is like MvC3 Phoenix - your team needs to either be able to deal with Cable, or have Cable on it
I'm an ok Cable player myself and can agree. I've been forcing new players on the MvC collection to run through the Cable/Psylocke gauntlet and it certainly is a struggle for them.
What sentinel has is options. Flight, chip, defense and unfly to name a few. But I can understand cable being a stronger scrub. Everything I mentioned has more application against higher level players. A scrub is going to get wiped by jump back gun throw grenade. So, fair.

Shout outs to khaos for using his shuma team in a tournament 💪🏾💪🏾
Shuma dope af too
Justin couldn't make it to be interview 'cause we've received word that he still runnin'
Crazy how complex this game is at the highest level.
fantastic video
I was lucky enough to snag a copy for the Dreamcast, gosh, almost 25 years ago by now. My buddies and I would play it to death. All-nighters with Mountain Dew stuff. When I was taking my Dreamcast to college, and they'd beg me to leave it behind for them to play with, just because of MvC2.
Playing online as a casual of MVC2, it’s like when I see someone picking MSP I just go “Well, I lost.” 🤣 but at least most people are fun to play against.
Good stuff as always.
Thanks dude! Hope to see you around sometime soon!
Newer generations will not understand how insane the scene was back then
team cl0ckw0rk baby
Orbs all day
Yipes is the best commentator IN ANY GENRE.
They are called the gods for a reason. Fresh eyes can’t see the matrix code that this game really is.
YIPES??!??!!?!? BOYYY ITS MAHVEL BABY in 2024 :)))
WE're so BACKKKK
Gonna be fun seeing how nuts this game can get now!
Wait a minute, all the top tiers are Marvel characters
I love Ryu, but he ain't laying a finger on Magneto
Yeah, it's not really a balanced game.
We don't call it Capcom, we call it Marvel 🤣🤣🤣
Not just all Marvel characters, but they’re also all X-Men characters.
@@xXPKRJXxwhen’s Mahvel? Mahvel baby
Marvel vs. Capcom is back with a vengeance.
I literally stood behind these guys for like 15 years but i still learned something new today I always thought the cable assist was good but holy shit man. he really does just erase assists.
Coming from you, that's an honor. Glad the video showed you something new!
@@Holdbacktoblock Man im surprised anyone even knows who i am. lol.
Awesome vid😊
So many great moves and combos! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’m seeing people trying to break Gambit. If I had to bet which character will rise tiers due to the collection, it would be on him.
I think a lot of fresh eyes will try, and then rotate over to the top tiers.
Low to mid tier fights are so much more fun imo
You’re the minority just fyi
I can see it both ways. But first things first, never $hit on what someone decides to play. It's all legal. Further more, forcing players out of groups because people want to play low tier is lame AF. Learn both.
@@keiharris332 people can play whatever they want. They just won’t win a lot.
@@cooltron I dunno man. I'm a big fan of players like cl0ckwork and VDO. I believe. But I also understand the reality. As a side note, t hawk in super turbo was considered useless for over a decade till his tick throw was discovered. Now he's too tier. Let em dream. But don't let em dictate what is "fair" ;)
@@cooltron Not at all- I second that.
THANK GOD FOR SENTINEL
THANK GOD FOR THE MACHINE
Mag has that netcode on lock (because of his speed), he is not going anywhere
great stuff
Aint nothing getting shaken up in this broken game.
I always liked freaks so I run Amingo, Shuma, and Anakaris
This was a dope ass video :)
To answer your last question, I’m betting dhalsim is gonna make an appearance at high level eventually
Agreed. That characters seems wild.
