French Broad can be really good when it's clear.

Looks like a really nice float. Do you mind disclosing what section of the river you were on and where you accessed? We are looking at doing Penrose access to pisgah landing. Leaving a vehicle down stream, so we can just float one way. Enjoyed the video, maybe get to see you out there soon. JS

I try not to disclose the specific spot but honestly any section near Asheville holds some giant smallmouth. Downstream towards Marshall and the Tennessee state line holds some good ones too. Thank you for watching I really appreciate it

Nice smallies! I've mostly fished largemouth but may switch it up some. I don’t expect you to give up your spots but can you recommend some areas in the river where the water is calm enough for kayak fishing? I've seen some areas where the current would definitely take you down river

There’s lots of good places to kayak the French broad depending on where you’re at. I’ve heard the Tennessee section has some good smallmouth in it but the North Carolina section I’m more familiar with. This time of year the flow isn’t too bad so now is a good time to explore. I mainly fish around the Asheville and woodfin section. Hopefully this helps some and if you got any other questions if you’re on facebook join the western North Carolina smallmouth club. There’s a lot of good information there and I really appreciate you watching!
