We'd love to see a video on how you cast. So accurate and consistent. Also, how you utilize different techniques. Pretty impressive. Thanks for the videos!
Yeah I think I only covered about a third of the lake. I think it would be a fun place to take my daughter in the future, clear water and lots of fish swimming around, a couple eagles nests, and lots of islands to fish around and explore.
I’m sure I don’t speak for everyone, but I’d rather watch you catch twelves all day long versus some jackass with three hundred sponsors catching lunkers off his 100k+ boat. It’s not necessarily about catching the giants. It’s quality videos with no music or flair. Keep em coming, bud.
Fresh coffee beans going and another awesome fishing trip we get to come along to. Saturday is off to a great start. Thank You for taking the time to share!
Thank you for helping me with my severe depression. You are BY FAR my fav channel on TH-cam. The beautiful scenery and your soothing voice are better than any drug that any doctor could ever prescribe to me
It's always beautiful to be on the lake just as the sun is coming up. With a smooth flat surface. Nothing better....thanks for taking us with you 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much, Matt, for another enjoyable, relaxing Saturday enjoying a cup of good coffee while spending time with you on a beautiful lake with no interruptions just casually catching some very healthy bass! Take care and be safe!
I picked up the new BassX rods and I’m looking forward to trying those this summer! They feel more like the old ones I had here rather than the previous generation.
The thing that we all take for granted about your channel... Is that you find these amazing fishing spots.... And you're the only person I ever see fishing!!! Except when your fishing with the person .. but wow. Like this video. Don't other people like awesome fishing spots??
I finished my 71st trip around the sun and I fish in an 8' PondProwler with a trolling motor but I have saved myself a fortune with the ability to cruise into shallow areas and retrieve jigs and lures and sometimes flies! Pretty lake and I love that mirror finish on the water.
I know you said you didn't show your small fish catches on your footage, but us fishers like to see All your Misses, small & big catches on your videos. It's what keeps us interested.
My favorite time od day "up north"...that magic time just before sunrise, water dead calm, no human sounds, just nature. Then, finally, in a far off part of the lake, the distant report of an outboard motor, another early riser out to get the early bite. I love it.
That lake is very much like so many around here. Lots of bass, but most are 1.5lbs or so. When I do find a "honey hole" I keep it secret. Twice in my life I have seen trophy bass waters ruined. The last time, as "luck" would have it, as my friend was photographing my PB 8.6lb bass, a reporter was secretly photographing us from hiking trails along side the lake. I ended up on the front page of the town paper, and by the next weekend not a parking space was to be found at the launch. Invasive weeds were introduced, and over 2 decades later the place is still choked out and fishing is poor at best. I appreciate the fact you still post videos of less than impressive catches, it speaks volumes to your character. Hats off to you man. Tight lines and happy fishing.
Plenty of positives even if the fish were on the small side. That is a beautiful lake for sure, and the mist rolling up when you arrived was very serene....and it looked like you had it all to yourself.
I ran into a lake several years ago that was slammed with 12-15 inch bass that were so fat. That was one of the most memorable days of fishing. Your commentary is great.
Those smaller fish fight hard if they’re well fed! This was a fun lake, I might take my daughter back there once I get her into a tandem kayak with me.
Next time it may be a good idea to bring an Ultralight rig for having fun at Lake Dink. At least your catching fish & it won't be long till the next vid & bigger fish . Minnesota is a fantastic place & you never know what you may catch but the time i went for 2 weeks with friends we had a blast & not one day we didn't do well for Pike , Walleyes , Large & Smallmouths , Rock Bass ,Bluegills & great Black Crappies. Every lake is a challenge & beautiful as can be.
Keep exploring new lakes man. You've got so many to choose from, and you know eventually you will land on better waters with big fish potential. It's fun watching you challenge yourself yet so rewarding seeing success, despite fishing new water.
2:30? AM? - Dude... that's my normal bedtime. You're one dedicated man. This is simly a beautiful video on a new lake. This is why fishing new places can be so exciting! ..I would also suggest that you include a few quick shots of some of the small fish you catch. You know.. prove that you really are human, not an alien! Same thing with some tree and bush casts. Seriously.. totally enjoy your videos! You are truly blessed!
I’m a night person myself, those days I get up at 2:30 I might get a couple hours of sleep before I’m up getting ready to go. If I’m catching fish I don’t get tired while I’m out fishing though!
These videos and outings are an absolute treat. I love the explorer mentality and although it didn't produce monsters you said it best. Might be a great return lake for you to bring your daughter. That's the good stuff after fresh ground beans and brew in the pot. Any of us would take a good numbers lake trip. Blessings this Easter brother
After seeing so many videos of you throwing the 75 Whopper Plopper, I finally went out today to get one and try it out. Ended with 3 fish and 3 missed bites in less than an hour. Such a better size than the 90/110.
NDY! You've inspired me to also share content here, Thanks! - You ever make to the East coast, let me know, I'd enjoy taking you fishing (I have 2 kayaks).
Love watching your videos. I wish it didn’t drag me into the fishing algorithm though. Fishing influencers are easily some of the worst influencers. Thanks for being genuine!
@NDYakAngler I love the scenery of this lake! Can you please tell me where in MN this is at? I live in MN and would lover just to go kayaking there. If not I understand.
Last year on the bone colored super spook junior I had my first double ever. A 4lb 9 oz smallie on one hook and about a 2 lber on the other. Big one came off right at shore but I managed to net it.
Love the simplicity...love the Zillion21 standardization. I've found myself over there past few years picking two the three presentations and living or dying by them on any given day.
Great video as always. Having been raised in East Texas, it's VERY odd to hear that ANY day up there would be too hot to fish...lol. Glad you had a great time on another new lake. Really liking these new adventure in new locations.
Wacky Rig is awesome on a dropshot. 1 of my go tos. If there's minimal corrent with what Matt's dealing with, you can fish it weightless. With the gear I have to use a circle hook 3/0 because I have an ultra light spinning rod
I can relate re: "good looking lakes that are often hard to fish due to the amount of structure." There's one here in MI-and w/low traffic too. Because it looked so "fishy" I kept going back-I finally found the big ones [3-5lb+ large mouth], on the breaks next to the deepest water that held cover in depths ranging from approx 16'-24'. After multiple attempts I found a blk 3/8 oz. Stanley jig/plastic crawfish w/floating pincers; or the same jig with the rubber skirt removed and a 5" paddle tail swimbait the most affective. Best color plastics: fluorescent blue or chartreuse. I always cut back the jig skirt and weed guards and spread the weeds guards out. Hope it helps. God bless.
I might hit this lake again some day but looking at the last couple DNR surveys the biggest bass they found were 18.4 and 16.7, and a ton of 12-14” fish. I think it might be one of those lakes where there’s just so many smaller fish the population gets stunted. I saw a ton of fish swimming around and didn’t see any that looked much bigger than 16”. I can’t remember if this was another catch and release only lake but I might start avoiding those lol.
Do you have a video showing how you load and unload your kayak? Maybe what you have to do to get it ready to load...like stuff you put in it or your vehicle. That would be interesting for me when considering kayak fishing. Thanks for the videos!
I don’t have a video but I think the biggest thing I do to make loading and unloading easier is have two milk crates. One that goes in the kayak with rod holders and tackle, and the other I toss all my batteries dry bags etc that goes in and out of the kayak every time. It makes it easier to carry stuff from my truck to kayak or back. Carrying one crate level takes two hands, but setting two side by side I can grab them both in the middle where the handles line up and use the other hand to carry my paddle and net. It cuts down on a few back and forth trips at those spots I can’t load up right next to my vehicle.
@@ndyakangler That sounds practical with the milk crates. So does your kayak sit in the back of a pickup? I'm was wondering how long it takes to load up the kayak at home and unload it on the lake, put everything in it's place and get fishing? Thanks!
@@Hlpus1nall Most of the time I use a bed extender and my truck bed for the kayak, although I have a trailer I’ll use if I need to haul more than one. I put a towel over the back seat of my truck so the crates don’t chew them up and the rods lay over the passenger seat when I’m alone which is the majority of the time when I’m filming. All the miscellaneous gear goes on the floor in the back.
