My affirmations are that i am "fearfully and wonderfully made" and "You wove me together in my mother's womb" from Psalm 139. Knowing the creator of the universe chose your DNA is very confidence building. I agree, when you have confidence in your own strengths and gifts, you are more able to celebrate others.

My husband and I will ask each other “what are 3 things you’re grateful for” in the mornings.
Then in the evenings we share a picture of something that made us smile- it’s a trick I learned to help you look out for the good things in your day.

Yeeeesss.. I'm grateful for so many little things!! Indoor plumbing, absolutely, clean drinking water, a sound mind, being able bodied, nourishing meals, so much! Ability to breathe independently, having all my senses, shelter.. I write but also just speak it.. love this! 🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️

sometimes at the end of a day, i‘ll write down things that i worried and things that i’m grateful for. i think sometimes the jealousy or competitive mindset or wants may arise from sort of insecurity in my heart, so i just write down things that’s bothering me, and compare them with the good things and soon i’ll discover that, those things worrying are uncontrollable or ridiculous or minor. and by doing this i feel much content and that i’m worthy, i deserve to feel good about myself, to feel comfortable and good looking at the same time. and i’m not going to meet other people’s standards for style if that’s not making me feel good, no matter how chic it looks on others.

Such a deeply meaningful discussion today! Gratitude makes the day better, it makes everything better.
For context, I’m 58, diagnosed at 53 with a very rare autoimmune disease, had 3 lifesaving massive surgeries, live with chronic pain.
And I had to give up a very rewarding professional career.
I found all 3 of you on TH-cam in 2021 and found the values you were repeatedly encouraging aligned not just with my wardrobe but how I walk thru my life.
Learning to be grateful for the big and small things adds up to a more peaceful and meaningful life, and that can definitely be applied to our wardrobe and how we choose to dress.

So much yes! I started practicing gratitude each morning to cope with grief. It truly changed me and allowed me to heal. Applying this to my clothing is still a work in progress. Thank you for this and addressing wearing what you want despite the comments of others. ❤

Gratitude is the most powerful daily spiritual practice. It grounds you in the fullness of the present moment, and turns everything you have into more. What you appreciate truly appreciates - in every way ❤🙏🏼

There is nothing silly about indoor plumbing. You are allowed to be grateful for anything no matter how every day. Gratitude is closely liked with JOY

I am so grateful for your podcasts, ladies! I really look forward to listening to them. I know I will listen to this podcast more than once. I think I'm like Christina in that I practice gratitude in the moment, such as admiring the leaves on a tree, or seeing moments of kindness, humour, or connections between other people, or with me. Thank you for this unassuming discussion!

This was such a lovely conversation between the 3 of you. . I have been practicing gratitudes for a number of years now. Probably going on 10. I used to record them in a journal but during the pandemic my husband and I started sharing our gratitudes together at breakfast and we've continued the practice. It's become a really special time we share.

Gratitude is remembering! Re-member. Returning to what is true. I love the way that Christina approaches gratitude. It's very similar to mine. It's noticing and remembering what is true. Of all the things we allow to 'become matter', gratitude allows us to come back down to earth to the one true thing that matters. Its the one truth, the one spirit, the great l am. Its the....😌. Its the peace that surpasses all understanding!!!

I tried to keep a gratitude journal every evening but I quit because I was writing the same things over and over again 🙈 Now I practice gratitude everytime I need to switch a negative behaviour, like scrolling for new clothes. I pause and think about my travel adventures or plan a next one with my family. I also unfollow a lot of influencers that make me want to buy more things and follow more travel pages and photographers.

It’s a practice that does take all the effort and time you express. I’m meditating and valuing the focus of gratitude regularly- through different methods depending on my head spaceanwhat what my body needs. Absolutely agree with how gratitude has allowed me to shop what I already have and create my own effortless and contented twist in my wardrobe.

  • @evalindell2757

I have practiced gratitude for many many years, but only in mind. I had a coolegue once who asked me howcomw I always looked happy. I answered that I am just so happy I was not barn in China or India where poor girls are not considered worth anything. The whole team sittning around the table started saying you can’t think like that! And I argued that beeing happy for what you have instead of unhappy about what you don’t have is a choise! And I choose happiness! Now I am older and in bad health so I journal most days and write down what I am grateful of. I need it more today to cpmbat pain etc. So my advice is to start practicing gratitude Young. You might really need it from time to time through life or at least when you get older and loose your health! ❤ Loove the three of you and your pod ❤️

This is such a great subject as gratitude, how you feel about your body and how you dress is closely connected! When it comes to comparing yourself with others and dressing for a long time I didn’t wear the cloths I feel most cofortable in as I was afraid they would think”who do she think she is”. So I took old jeans and a sweater to look like the rest of the unstylish friends! Nowadays I do not care at all and it is freeing 🥰

I so much appriciate the idea of practicing gratidue, however I still have not got it to include it in my daily routine. I once started to write it down, but I recognized that I don't like writing too much. I much more like talking to myself. But anyway, after some days of doing it, I always let it be gone again. I really miss my consequence in that... unfurtunately!

Something I've been hoping to hear more on and am having a hard time finding resources on is how the heck do you navigate style changes as you become a new mom. Not only does my body not feel like mine, but I'm committed to breastfeeding my kiddo for as long as they'll let me. And let me tell you, breastfeeding friendly wardrobes are hard to navigate on their own, let alone how they mesh within a personal style that has already shifted drastically with the life change.
I'm just struggling and would love to hear more conversation about this particularly nuanced life milestone.

Honestly lipstick is it for a lot of older women - most bang for the buck!!! Some of us have forgotten the past when we had better vision to put on eyeliner -- and face products didn’t settle in creases😅 i am grateful ☺️ to just use moisturizer w a sunscreen in it, a few specks of concealer and some clean powder on a big brush, ending w some lip balm -- i accept my age- my needs are simple- my make up application did take lots more time back in the day ❤ Did i look “Better”? 🤷‍♀️

I think it’s about feeling better rather than looking better, & taking time for yourself, no matter how long that may be. So long as it’s not harming anyone in the process, I don’t think it is a place for anyone to comment on or judge.
