Deadeye ranger is probably strongest or atleast one of the strongest endgame classes. You might need to make some adjustments to this for endgame, but it is super strong
Please rax, I’m level 75 and I have no idea what I’m doing using this as a base, new to Poe, but need some guidance for skills and passive points beyond your original guide . Thanks
i was struggling with my ranger and didn't know if i wanted to keep playing her but my buddy sent me your video and now i love her! defiantly my main now thanks for the video!
Raxx, I love the build guides! I did the comet sorc till it got nerfed and now this one. One thing i noticed that I think is sneaking past you is; you recommend level 2 support gems when players won’t have access to them yet. It would be even more helpful if you gave early suggestions for the level 2 supports. Thanks for keeping this game fun for all of us!
Your guide is so good man.. but not just that you break it down in such a way it makes it easy to understand how to build, what to look for and what to prioritize. 10/10
Complete noob to poe2 world. Tried to avoid guides but felt like I might be missing something so checked your video out. No joke, I'm now melting things in Act 2. Just in general your video helped me a lot with understanding the game and game sense. Thanks dude!
Hey Raxx, just curious are you going to make a guide for an end game version of this build? I just got past the campaign (level 63) and don't have a very good idea of what I should be building into past what you put in the planner. Love your videos btw man, keep up the good work.
Awesome video, you said it best I was struggling with this game until I came across this guide. Thanks so much nice work and will follow you for more content!
Appreciate all the help to the community! Was playing SRS infernalist witch and got to cruelty difficulty but the fire animations was just frying my eyes out and blinding my buddy as well who plays warrior with me lmao this is definitely what I’m switching to
Yea visual clarity with the SRS Witch is definitely a problem currently. I had to build really tanky on my Witch just because seeing on death effects, projectiles and even some telegraphed attacks is really challenging when half my screen is fire. Doesn't help that Flame Wall's effect appears to overlay every other effect I've seen. Maybe if GGG made it have less priority it might be better.
TYSM Rax, just got back from holiday's and started playing poe2 been struggling with killing things this will solve the issue for me. I love how you explain everything very simply so that even if you don't follow the exact steps the general idea will still work.
thank you rax im new to arpgs and i picked monk first and used it for 40 hours and im about to pull my hair out im struggling so at this very moment i tried to switch to ranger and bam u just uploaded it thank you
Weird. Maybe your gear isn't too great. Monk kinda slaps the entire game from the looks of it. I played through Act 1 with it and it was great imo. TH-cam is also full of clips of different monk builds all destroying every stage of the game. I've seen Act 2 boss killed in a minute, Act 3 in like 30s and tons of even later content too just obliterated by the different Monk builds.

Love the guide and this bould is fun until I got to the forst trial and I only have like 495 honor. I get to the boss worh full honor but doe halfway through the fight. Should I invest in more strength to get more life to get more honour??
@adamiveson295 You just need to dodge a lot and movement speed boots. Once the first trial is beat it becomes easier. Because after that you can farm honor resistance and maximum honor and life relics. The main thing is to avoid the slam from the boss. But yeah couldn't hurt to have at least 600 honor.
Thank you Raxx. I'm a first time PoE player and I was trying to make this build work on my own. Took a couple of simple tips from this video and have improved my character considerably. Thanks again!
Rax ty! This build rips! I switched off my merc cuz I wasn't having fun and I used ur build guide and now I'm in act 3 cruel and still rippin! Been following u for a while much love!
I just started yesterday with sorc and seen everybody complaining. I went to the best TH-cam channel for advice . I switch to this I haven’t died yet ,I’m loving this ranger
I've been playing mostly relying on lightning rod for dmg and scaling lightning dmg. I also went to 43 int to grab orb of storms, so now I put it down and then when I cast lightning rod I immediately chain it, it's pretty nice. I'm new to the game so discovering these things felt rly good. I don't think my variant is stronger than yours. Another thing to mention is how strong life on hit is with ranger, as you have sooo many instances of hits with rod and light arrow that you fully heal on each cast almost, that will be enough survival for non boss fights.
I modified this this quite a bit to fit this build to my playstyle (poison is super fun), but I wouldn't have made it without you. I took your 'if it's dead, it cant't kill you' to extreme. I'm blasting through campaign on negative res and it's so much fun. Thanks for the content, man.
You’re already beating it, bud. I can’t even get to Act 2-got killed by the freaking wolf like 100 times as a Sorcerer (FYI, Still cant kill the wolfs)
@amhowaye1605 I had same issue with witch and sorc . But keep trying that boss isn't too hard once you've got his pattern down also get some cold res will help
I was stuck against the Act 1 boss with a poison Ranger/Hunter and couldn't kill him at all, been hard stopped there for a few days and was getting frustrated with the game. Going to respec my character with this guide this afternoon
For those asking me how, there is literally a rune under "all runes" not class specific to ranger that is cast on shock. Its a spirit gem. Thats how. I run cast on shock and have Voltaic Mark, Conductivity, and precision slotted in it. Works pretty well.
Funniest character i've played so far. Thank you so much for this awesome guide. Keep up the good work. Your videos are very fun to watch. Everything is clean and easy to understand.
Great video as usual. Just wanted to let you know, @10:04 when you said you couldnt move your mouse while hovering the bow, if you hold alt, then it locks the tooltip in place and you can hover over it to read what everything does! (or point at things for the viewers)
I hope he updates this build for end game. This is perfect leveling guide. I’d like to see what rax does with end game build guide. I like this setup make leveling guide. Then make end game build guide for maps etc.
I'm close to level 80 with this build, and it absolutely flies through the campaign until Act 6 (Act 3 Cruel), but that's where survivability becomes a real problem. Once you're in maps, it feels like everything just insta-kills you. The fix? Start picking up evasion nodes. The DPS you've been using since Act 4-5 is still more than enough for endgame maps, so you can skip offensive nodes from here on. By now, you should have a decent bow and quiver, so the focus shifts to grabbing gear with evasion and stacking evasion nodes. The real game-changer is the 'Acrobatics' node-it makes you dodgy against everything except DoTs. It does come with a big evasion penalty, but you can counter that with evasive gear and nodes. Once you’ve got that set up, you’re basically unkillable and can shred through everything.
@@vorhandklaus I just copied the setup from the video, only added in the Heft gem for LA. This build is so brain-dead easy I never even thought, “What else does it need?” The bow is literally 50% of the build. Get a decent one, and you’re chilling. But the real carry is the damage rings. That’s the secret sauce that makes it pop, plus the evasion thing. :D
@@Nevernyi Would be really helpful if you could help us in the endgame, any way you can provide us with a detailed breakdown of all your gears and skills?
Love you so much for this Raxx. I had got my Sorc to Act 3 and was having heaps of fun but lightning was becoming slow going, with the nerf to cast on freeze I couldn’t do that. Found this and I’m having an amazing experience. Thank you!!!
Raxx. You're a lifesaver!. Was struggling to keep a witch infernalist alive throughout act 1 and this pathfinder has made everything silky smooth. Thanks for another great and informative guide.
I was nodding my head many times in this build guide. I struggled a lot with my minion witch in act 1 and 2, spent several farming runs changing out my build trying to be more survivable and my take away was: damage, damage, damage. I never felt like I was doing enough damage. Having like 1k shield at level 25 meant you might survive 1 more hit you otherwise wouldn't, but bosses pretty much still 1 shot you with certain moves anyway. I always felt like the less time you spent in the boss fight(your damage), the more likely you are to survive anyway.
Raxx saving the ARPG genre again! I rolled a sorc, witch, and mercenary, having difficulty with each and every one of those classes until I tried this build and now I'm just having a blast. Thanks Raxx!
Full damage on the passive tree is the way to go right now. I've done this on my Merc and dude is melting the campaign bosses. I've not even been following a guide, DPS just trumps everything.
This is me thanking you later ! Just got done making your monk build and have it in maps it is a blast. I love seeing how fast and efficiently I can bring online the builds you create. 🎉
I don't like that rangers can use quivers for extra stats buffs and mercenaries can't. This makes absolutely no sense to me feels bad every time i see a quiver with good stats
@@Matt-lp1xp I'm having a "blast" playing merc. It's very fun and effective so far. I just don't understand why having skills be ammunition can't just represent ammunition types and have a quiver of bolts to equip.
It's 100% logical crossbows use bolts not arrows and thier base stat is just higher. It's kinda logical that weapon that don't use arrows don't have bonuses from quiver full of arrows.
@EGOISTA99 no sorry you're way off. Arrows are the same as bolts, both used quivers. I would rather have a unique quivers added mods than a slightly higher base damage. The game they copied the most from (d2) had bolt quivers for crossbows. No reason not to have them in poe 2.
I was level 34. Roughed it thru the final boss of act 2. Decided to switch my spec up to this. My DPS quadrupled. Went back to kill the act 2 final boss again. Took like 2 minutes instead of 6-8. Awesome guide!!!! Super new ARPG player too lol.. coming from WoW
I'm weird I guess, but people were raving about PoE, and I was really looking forward to my first experience with it in this EA of PoE2, but I got to say I'm kind of disappointed. Its fun, don't get me wrong, but people were chanting D4 bad and that PoE was just so much better. Which really doesn't feel honest. I think they're both pretty cool, but I think they're just different experiences, I personally feel like D4 has a some areas where it feels better.
Raxx turned me onto PoE (although I never played it) and thus PoE 2 and can’t thank you enough. I get it’s a different pace from the usual D4 or other comps but I enjoy it and it’s great to be apart of a game community where feedback and criticism is requested with a developer that actually listens. Ready to ride this wave for years to come
Your comments on building damage have helped me so much. Stuck in Act 2 first ascendency, swapped my passives over and doubled my damage without changing my gear. Flew through the trial.
hey rax, gotta say, huge props for dropping the guide. been following your deadeye ranger run from the streams step by step, and while it’s been fun trying to keep up with the live decisions, it’s clear the official guide is way more polished. i made it to act 3 just rewatching the streams, and i could tell some of the passive choices were more experimental in the moment. feels like the build is way more focused and efficient with this version. really appreciate the effort you put into making it beginner-friendly too! great work, man, this is very helpful. cheers!
Made a new character after Sorc got super nerfed. Decided to try this because youre my favorite ARPG creator, and I have to say your reputation is safe. Im having a blast with this build. As a sorc i was getting frustrated with the long long boss fight. This build actually give you a proper fight making it about properly avoiding attacks, and not death by 1000 cuts. I got to Act 2 almost twice as fast as on my sorc, and took way less deaths because I didn't have to slap the enemy to death. Great guide!
While I enjoyed a couple other builds more than this one, frost spells and minion builds clutter/discolor the ground so much it's impossible to know if you're standing in bad. This feels really smooth, doesn't require skill or spell juggling, and the effects are crisp and on the less-is-more side. I appreciate this a lot. Thanks!
Thanks man :D Been leveling my new ranger and it feels so much better than my merc. I gave up on my merc at lvl 7. Now I'm lvl 10 and did it in 1/3 of the time. (getting lucky with a craft on bow...got 45% phy really helped too)
please dont forget to add "Permanent Buff Section which best to pick for this build" seems others content creator doesnt add the section. much appreciated for ur content raxx, keep up the good work
My Ranger is only lvl 12, but just following the first couple of skill/support recommendations has boosted my DPS by 5-6x (based on kill time, I didn't check the numbers). Always appreciated the build guides you & Rhykker did for Diablo - glad you're around for POE2.
Super casual player here, and if you’re in that boat, this is a great build/starting class for getting into the game. I had a ton of trouble starting with the Monk, and then tried this class. Progression has been so much smoother since.
Level 40 and this build is really coming together now with the level 2 skill gems. Still need some jeweler orbs which seem to never drop but man, great build dude! Thanks!
I literally stopped playing and went to bed early last night so I could animation cancel into todays morning to watch your video and re-build my ranger, thanks for the help Raxx
Thank you Raxx!! I had a pretty similar build as yours but not quite, especially with the support gems was I struggling. But thanks to your video I could optimize it & now my Ranger plays like magic ❤
haven’t even played the game yet & stoked to see this. Crazy how lightning pans out to be far better for Ranger long term than Sorc, & Sorc meta is all about being ice queen. We love that
That is because PoE2 is just DPS checks... I struggled with Act 1 bosses... quit on the last boss seen the update about loot and crafting mats. came back and have beat all bosses in 1 or 2 goes... Once you get your gear inline with level the "difficulty" goes away.. I wish ppl calling this Dark Souls like would stop, you can't beat bosses with starter weapon and gear like you can in them games. DPS race bosses ect.
@@TheHairyGorilla yep, act 1 boss was a roadblock for my first character/sorc because my dps was too low and the adds overwhelmed me. Rolled another sorc and specced 100% on offense while upgrading my weapon via crafting, then took this boss down in two tries. Personally, I'd just go full offense on campaign and worry about defense in endgame, unless you're playing HC.

@@sherwintomas4458 I'm just started to watch this person Moxsy, he is playing dead-eye too. He do t15+ maps
Rax ty! This build rips! I switched off my merc cuz I wasn't having fun and I used ur build guide and now I'm in act 3 cruel and still rippin! Been following u for a while much love!
What venom choice? mana or elemental thresh?
I just started yesterday with sorc and seen everybody complaining. I went to the best TH-cam channel for advice . I switch to this I haven’t died yet ,I’m loving this ranger
How do you see what attributes were chosen on the passive tree or any passive in general in the maxroll guide?
On the Maxroll website, you can hover over the nodes on the passive tree tab. Works on PC can’t verify if works on mobile
I had just been looking for this build this morning after I saw it from your stream. Very timely posting Rax!
Another thing to mention is how strong life on hit is with ranger, as you have sooo many instances of hits with rod and light arrow that you fully heal on each cast almost, that will be enough survival for non boss fights.
lightning rod and orb. Awesome idea. This is what POE is all about.
Wait, does each orb of storms hit trigger the lightning rods? That's nuts
@InfiniteMonkeysSA it looks like it yes, I'm not sure how many times it chains, I have to check, but with the chain support I think it's about 6 times
What supports you using for orb of storms?
I modified this this quite a bit to fit this build to my playstyle (poison is super fun), but I wouldn't have made it without you. I took your 'if it's dead, it cant't kill you' to extreme. I'm blasting through campaign on negative res and it's so much fun. Thanks for the content, man.
Without Raxx ... I'd still be stuck in act 2 or rage quitted. Much love Raxx
That’s sad lol
You’re already beating it, bud. I can’t even get to Act 2-got killed by the freaking wolf like 100 times as a Sorcerer (FYI, Still cant kill the wolfs)
@amhowaye1605 I had same issue with witch and sorc . But keep trying that boss isn't too hard once you've got his pattern down also get some cold res will help
@ Fresh update. Leveled up a fresh ranger and get that MFer down in one attempt no sweat. 🥹🥹🥹🥹
I was stuck against the Act 1 boss with a poison Ranger/Hunter and couldn't kill him at all, been hard stopped there for a few days and was getting frustrated with the game. Going to respec my character with this guide this afternoon
Thank you for making this
Change Voltaic Mark to "Cast on shock" and add mark there. Its great.
Wait how do you do that? Im making this build today and will take any tip u can give
How?
For those asking me how, there is literally a rune under "all runes" not class specific to ranger that is cast on shock. Its a spirit gem. Thats how. I run cast on shock and have Voltaic Mark, Conductivity, and precision slotted in it. Works pretty well.
wouldnt that make this build a lot more mana intensive? Would probably need to grab some mp regen stuff for comfort, right?
Or mana mods on some items
Funniest character i've played so far. Thank you so much for this awesome guide. Keep up the good work. Your videos are very fun to watch. Everything is clean and easy to understand.
Hello. Is this build going to be completed? What after lvl60/79 points? what last ascendencies?
Great video as usual. Just wanted to let you know, @10:04 when you said you couldnt move your mouse while hovering the bow, if you hold alt, then it locks the tooltip in place and you can hover over it to read what everything does! (or point at things for the viewers)
theres a setting under "game" that is titled "always highlight" toggle it on
I hope he updates this build for end game.
@@Nevernyi thanks for the tips, u have discord?
@@Nevernyi what are your links for lightning arrow and rod ? struggeling to get a decent 5 link running i swap all the time :D
Please finish the guide
Raxx. You're a lifesaver!. Was struggling to keep a witch infernalist alive throughout act 1 and this pathfinder has made everything silky smooth. Thanks for another great and informative guide.
Please update the build for end game content.
Great guide Raxx! Starting playing this one today, absolutely blasting. Fantastic fun.
POE 2 looks really good both visually and gameplay.
Man I appreciate you dude. I'm super casual and your guides save me so much frustration and get right into having fun which is perfect for my life.
Raxx - any chance you can create a lightning arrow leveling guide? I'm level 18 right now ready for the final Act 1 boss so I could sure use one :)
This is it though...?
Are you high?
Ranger and Merc absolutely blasting EA, Im gonna try this ranger build. Always appreciate your work Rax!
Full damage on the passive tree is the way to go right now. I've done this on my Merc and dude is melting the campaign bosses. I've not even been following a guide, DPS just trumps everything.
Grenade build i take it? I wanted something that was not grenade build, and bosses are melting me
Thanks for the tips, I was struggling a little bit, now i'm doing way better. Thank you!
Lightning Arrow Gang 👊
hows ur mana doing?
Hey..Raxx thank..!I been blasting the campaign with your build , It feel amazing so far I been unstoppable.
I started monk, got to the ascension trials, laughed. Rerolled a Ranger, ROFL. Easy mode engaged.
th-cam.com/video/U9vxyoMrDjg/w-d-xo.html
I finished them as a monk, it was torture. Now I just add bow in second slow and now it's easyyyy xD
Frost strike on monk makes everything easy mode when combined with bell
@@yournamethere123I don't agree being in melee range of everything sucks
@@Siddy641 well you don’t have much of a choice as a monk.
I like how you always explain things in a very clear way
Update pls 🙏
This is me thanking you later ! Just got done making your monk build and have it in maps it is a blast. I love seeing how fast and efficiently I can bring online the builds you create. 🎉
This build is next btw. Im not even going to bother rerolling a ranger. 😂
Yuuup
Bounced around a few different builds, this one just hits different. Thanks for the video.
I don't like that rangers can use quivers for extra stats buffs and mercenaries can't. This makes absolutely no sense to me feels bad every time i see a quiver with good stats
Sell it!
Mercs just straight up aren't as fun as Ranger
I would agree. Imagine a game with the best of both worlds 🤯
Why you letting it all out on a poe2 yt build video man leave a review or sum😂
Tbh Poe 2 is like elden ring while d4 is a arcade game
I agree, I just can't get into the game
@@complex3297 It does feel like different games which i don't mind !
Ready to ride this wave for years to come
You are pushing out that content so fast man, i love it!
Your comments on building damage have helped me so much. Stuck in Act 2 first ascendency, swapped my passives over and doubled my damage without changing my gear. Flew through the trial.
TKS I WAS WAITING SO MUCH FOR THIS!
Oh my God! This is an amazing build! Thanks for the guide and explanations! Amazing damage. Thank you for your hard work and efforts!
I've played all of the classes except for Warrior and this has by far been the smoothest leveling experience, great build.
hey rax, gotta say, huge props for dropping the guide. been following your deadeye ranger run from the streams step by step, and while it’s been fun trying to keep up with the live decisions, it’s clear the official guide is way more polished. i made it to act 3 just rewatching the streams, and i could tell some of the passive choices were more experimental in the moment. feels like the build is way more focused and efficient with this version. really appreciate the effort you put into making it beginner-friendly too! great work, man, this is very helpful. cheers!
Yo Raxx - your build guide got me to maps. Appreciate it.
The passive tree advice was a lifesaver Raxx, thanks for putting this together.
ty Raxx :) ranger is insanely fun so far, also mercenary, other's haven't tried yet, but I'm sure I'll enjoy them all, such an amazing game!
Thanks!
lets gooo!! Ive been waiting on this! Ive been playing Lightning Ranger and was waiting for someone better than me to show how to tune it lol
Youre the best man. Trying this build rn and its so much fun and easy to follow
Thanks for this guide! I was a bit worried after bouncing off my monk starter, but switching to this feels very comfortable for a first build.
Thanks man :D Been leveling my new ranger and it feels so much better than my merc. I gave up on my merc at lvl 7. Now I'm lvl 10 and did it in 1/3 of the time. (getting lucky with a craft on bow...got 45% phy really helped too)
please dont forget to add "Permanent Buff Section which best to pick for this build" seems others content creator doesnt add the section. much appreciated for ur content raxx, keep up the good work
Man having lots of fun with this. Thanks Rax!
Thanks for the clarity and effort! Any plans for an endgame lightning build? Thanks in advance!
Rax explains so well that even I, with my poor English, understand him perfectly 😎
You saved my ranger class. Im only lvl 39 but this DRASTICALLY changed my character. Not getting my ass kicked anymore on act 3.
Amazing build guides, they help so much. Keep up the good work
Level 40 and this build is really coming together now with the level 2 skill gems.
We love that
Thanks Raxx, this is a very strong build, i am having a lot of fun.
I’m having so much fun with this build. Everything dies so fast. A bit low on life and defence but that’s what gear is for. Thanx Raxx!😎
this is the best poe2 guide I've seen yet for ranger. hilarious, simple and extremely effective. DAMAGE
Can’t wait to see your Witch build. Been having fun with infernalist and minions
Once again shows why your are a Beast and a Gem 💎 to this community. I can’t state this enough, I really appreciate you.
Thank you Raxx, with this build guide I went from cryin' to flyin'.
Luvs ya,
