Great guides. I think it's super important to note that with too many + levels into projectiles the mana costs start to skyrocket. You are going to need a combination of mana on kill, leech and a larger mana pool (1k+) for that to be feasible.
Okay bro, have my sub. You do the works. You do the maths. You present it credibly and empirically. Have this comment an upvote as well, friend. The bible states, the worker is worth his reward. Go hard, boss. Started a Deadeye after your crit vid. Am now level 41 and just got my Ball Lightning. To equip it at my level though, I needed to put all my passives into int and dex nodes :D And it's only shooting one (SINGULAR!) 1 tiny useless ball lightning haha. And it takes about 5 packs to load up once. It's definitely not there yet, but I enjoyed seeing your build in action in the vid. Hope to get there. Have fun and God bless you and y'all others out there doomblasting this alpha early access.
This is an endgame build. It will not proc anything at lower level, and especially meta skills will be basically only procing on bosses anyway. That's why for mapping you have heralds.
The non crit variant is for leveling and getting to t15 basically. Before that there is the leveling guide under fubgun for pre mapping. You can find it on mobalytics pretty easily. It works great for leveling purposes
Based on your last couple of videos, it sounds like the non-crit build can be used as you level and start out endgame, and then once you have the means to get really nice gear, then you switch over to the crit build. Does that sound about right?
Once you have the gear. 100% Note that it is quite rough switching over if you don’t have good gear. You really need to be hitting enough to freeze and shock on 1 hit (maybe 2) to replicate what you see here.
You can see the spirit from the amulet and armor via the maxroll link in the description. I think it was roughly 15+40 from two mods on the amulet and around 40-50 from the body armour. That's what I'm struggling to build up now too, and I think is far more limiting to this build. Getting spirit to roll on both items in addition to good defense/res is pretty hard given you can't use essence to add spirit. However, this does a ton without ghost dance and you can boss without herald of ice (herald of thunder included a +1 lvl support gem to all lightning skills).
Thank you for this guide, i have been rocking your first lightning arrow build since you made it, and tweaked it based on all that I have learned, i have no crit and no frost, and after this video I made some changes and allocated the storm skill and a few more changes, imraised my LA DPS from 105k to 138k after these changes 😀 I still feel that bosses are my weakness compared to for example crit or frost setups but i kill T4 bosses really comfortable so it's not really been an issue. Anyway, I made a Frankensteins monster based on all your guides for ranger and I think my version of a pure lightning non-crit build is amazing, altho expensive 😅 for example I have both ghost dance and grim feast ontop on top of wind dancer, herald and cast on crit 😬
I'm not proccing herald of ice with herald of thunder. I notice my herald of thunder isn't doing as much cold damage. I have it set up exactly as in the video. Anyone know how to increase herald of thunder cold damage?
Same. Let me ask this because this might be the answer- Do you have those gloves? I do not . And I’m thinking it may be the main factor bc it ramps the damage up so high
Switched to this build at 60, My shock chance seems insanely low but is what it is. Was running Gas arrow with Harp Dualstring unique and the Lace Hood unique, Bow makes it fire multiple projectiles while the hood would insta ignite the gas cloud, Was fun as hell. You should make us a gas arrow build. There any way to make that melee poison build explode the poison or does that only work on Gas skills?
I mean.. non crit on boss is 25-35% more dmg. Crit version has 100% crit,so it gets 400% more dmg lol. Edit: I know lucky increases the average, so 5k-20k with lucky is about 13k on average on hit. Crits average before 400% is 10k,with crits on non bosses(so 40%crit) is about 19-24k, on bosses though its gonna be the 13,000x 400% or 52,000 per hit.
Can you test Cast on Shock Bow with an Invoker Monk and a Stormweaver Sorc? I think both of those would be better than Ranger but I could be wrong. Invoker has 35% more Energy Gained, as well as 10% extra damage as Cold and Lightning. Stormweaver has all damage contributes towards Shock and all damage contributes towards Chill. Both of those options seem OP. You can always get a bow with a corruption that fires an additional arrow too.

Would this non crit variant be considered a budget friendly build? What’s wrong with running the crit version or does it require more costly and better gear?
Definitely more budget friendly. He mentions gearing is infinitely easier on non-crit. Ideally you'd probably start non-crit and build out to crit eventually.
Great guide, I'm running something similar except I use coursing current and lightning exposure on Orb of Storms. The extra shocks and - lightning res increase both clear and single target damage a lot in my experience.
Having issues getting mobs to explode with herald of ice... I have the same "alternate" tree - and slightly more cold damage than you... yet they aren't popping :O

your physical damage is being converted so the best way to scale it is stacking phys. the cold on these builds is just for easier freeze build up but with enough raw damage it works the same
What should i invest in first? The gloves for around 4 div or a good bow for the same amount? Or should i get a bow for less (like 1 div for example) and the gloves afterwards?

herald of thunder is 30, herald of ice 30, wind dancer 30, ghost dance 30, cast on shock 60. thats total of 180 spirit. you have 100 from campaign, so if u get 40 on body armor and 40 on amulet u alrdy have enough
Critical is going to do more damage because nothing is immune to it. Any element with critical damage is going to cook. I’m new to path of exile, the lightning critical build in your other video is my current build and I feel powerful. Thanks.
Struggling to understand how you're getting 40k+ DPS on Lightning Arrow. I'm at a similar place, a few levels lower, but mine is at 20k and I don't see a way to literally double that with items. What am I missing?
i would say if your herald of thunder is freezing you should try cast on freeze w/ eye of winter, snipers mark, impetus, energy retention for your crit build its a bit of a mana whore but i like my clear speed now doing breaches
I don't understand how you have enough intelligence to use this gear. I am a 74 ranger and I have like 40 intelligence. I only see int on one of your pieces of gear. How do you have 180+ int?
Correct me if im wrong, inspiration doesn't support skills that reserve spirit, it is specified in the skill gems describtion. And yet Moxsy, u have it on cast on shock that reserves 60 spirit, i cant put it on cast on crit. How?
i don't believe you actually need too much lightning pen. iirc, normal mobs tend to not roll resists (unless your map explicitly gives them resists), and bosses in most cases will not cap levels of resists. Additionally, since poe2 doesn't allow enemy resists to go below zero, you don't really gain anything from stacking a ton of it. Some is necessary, but maxing it out is not. At least, that's what I was told. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
Are you sure enemies can't go below zero resist? There's a Doriany's build for minions that focuses on stacking yourself with negative lightning resist to apply it to enemies.
Ok im a t a loss here... What exactly is giving the " INSANE " mana reg on bosses.. i can place 1 Ball and boom OOM. Im missing something but cant for the life of me figure out what. Still on the " ICE Crit build btw ". Thx in advance.
I think the verbiage on this video is a bit confusing. getting the lucky node doesnt really increase the damage, it doesnt do more damage, its more of the average damage goes up. your damage average will be more consistently higher. where you'll most likely have rolled the top end damage instead of the lower end. while with crits, you still have to deal with that huge damage range, where you may get crits with the lower end damage, which could be less damage than what you would have gotten with the lucky non crit damage, but you can also get top end damage getting crits will be extremely high more than you would ever have with a non crit lucky hit
Not sure what you're on about. It just does flat increase your damage statistically. If you roll between 1 and 5 once, or one in five twice, you statistically hit a higher number on the double-roll more often. Which is simply an increase in damage. It does not increase your 'maximum' damage, but it does increase your damage, objectively. Not sure what is confusing about that. No matter how you spell it, your damage will be 20-30% higher with Lucky than without, a single map run will show the damage increase as the amount of rolls you're making is more than enough to be a sample size that will -always- show an increase in damage across what is effectively a ten minute test. Now perhaps if you fired.. ten arrows total, it's unlikely, but possible that the two rolls of 1 in 5 would be beaten by 1 1 in 5. But every time you fire, statistically that gap widens, and widens, and widens until it reaches that approximately 30% increase.
And this is only noticeable because lightning has crazy damage ranges (like 1-10 or 3-100, and other crazy numbers). So if your lightning damage is 100-6000, and your first roll is a 150, but your second roll was a 5400, then the 5400 is the damage you deal instead. The max never exceeds 6000, but you roll the higher numbers more consistently when you have 2 dice rolls instead of 1.
Your argument contradicts itself, you say “it doesn’t do more damage” then immediately follow that with “it’s more of the average damage goes up”. If your average damage per attack goes up and everything else stays the same then you do more damage. Also, you can get a better understanding of the effect of “lucky” hits by looking at 1-100 dice rolls and the difference between standard 50 average and a “best of two dice” roll each time. Of course that best of two dice doesn’t happen every time since you by default have 5% Crit chance on bows so 5% of the time you don’t get the “best of two roll”.
@@sethryan1010 I think he meant that lucky doesn't increase the "max" damage. No matter how many times you reroll a d20, you will never exceed 20. But yes, the average goes up, and the numbers will be better if you have more chances.
PoE prices scale normally over the new season and level out after a while. Leveling probably taking longer than normal due to more population. Pretty standard.
Or heres an idea, don't use the trade website and get the loot yourself. Absolutely shocked how many people are doing themselves out of the fun part of the game to go on to a website and just buy gear...ridiculous
@@Kefka2010 Nonsense, going on to a website outside of the game itself to buy the perfect piece of gear or gear set is borderline cheating. For 10 exalts you can become a god instantly. herald of thunder is 30, herald of ice 30, wind dancer 30, ghost dance 30, cast on shock 60. thats total of 180 spirit. you have 100 from campaign, so if u get 40 on body armor and 40 on amulet u alrdy have enough
there’s a node on the passing tree that makes the herald skills cost less spirit
I’ve figured it out now my gems for wind dancer had a lot of spirts on them needed to take some off thx for the help guys
Fubguns build is the best deadeye build for clear speed and bossing
What are your cosmetics?
Have you tried lightning arrow poison ?
so how many Divive for this build ?
200.
Critical is going to do more damage because nothing is immune to it. Any element with critical damage is going to cook. I’m new to path of exile, the lightning critical build in your other video is my current build and I feel powerful. Thanks.
There is literally an immune to crit modifier on rare mobs..
How he get 3 arrows ?
Struggling to understand how you're getting 40k+ DPS on Lightning Arrow. I'm at a similar place, a few levels lower, but mine is at 20k and I don't see a way to literally double that with items. What am I missing?
Bow, gems?
i would say if your herald of thunder is freezing you should try cast on freeze w/ eye of winter, snipers mark, impetus, energy retention for your crit build its a bit of a mana whore but i like my clear speed now doing breaches
How do you get such high damage on lightning arrow?
You play 17 hours a day
Gloves. Quiver effect gems.

how lvl cast on shok?????
pls try to fix the double lightning infusion and socket it to the optimal choice ty @Moxsy
Fixed
But non-critical version can fit in Thief’s Torment?
I have thief's but honestly I only use it in ubers. The damage for everything else is fine if you have a decent mana pot
Tank build from monk tree variant?
Where is the crit video at ?
I don't understand how you have enough intelligence to use this gear. I am a 74 ranger and I have like 40 intelligence. I only see int on one of your pieces of gear. How do you have 180+ int?
The passive tree
how many total spirits you needed for this.build?
200.
tldr of that video is go to the cast on crit video and play that build :D
Correct me if im wrong, inspiration doesn't support skills that reserve spirit, it is specified in the skill gems describtion. And yet Moxsy, u have it on cast on shock that reserves 60 spirit, i cant put it on cast on crit. How?
it doesnt support cast on shock itself, but it works with lightning ball it shoots. So just put it after the ball, thats it
@troffmad i see, thanks!
can you make an updated iceshot build please as I love iceshot so much more lightning Arrow
i don't believe you actually need too much lightning pen. iirc, normal mobs tend to not roll resists (unless your map explicitly gives them resists), and bosses in most cases will not cap levels of resists.
@ I believe that does work, but that’s from interaction between doriyani’s prototype… pen won’t go into the negative
@@habib6863 I think exposure can reduce res below zero? Not sure tho..
@@JK-jw3po came her to mention the exposure mechanic. thats literally what it does.
@@JK-jw3po that's what I thought, since a lot of builds utilize it. That's why I was asking if he was sure they can't go below zero.
Not sure why my dps is less than half of yours. Bow and everything is pretty close. Lvl90
Do you have Emerald ? with increased bonuses gained from Equipped Quiver ?
Ok im a t a loss here... What exactly is giving the " INSANE " mana reg on bosses.. i can place 1 Ball and boom OOM. Im missing something but cant for the life of me figure out what. Still on the " ICE Crit build btw ". Thx in advance.
thief's torment ring swap for bosses
@slothmanjay5029 Ah yeah. Thx. Forgot about that.
Do I need a 6l gems
not-cri / cri Which is better?
I think the verbiage on this video is a bit confusing. getting the lucky node doesnt really increase the damage, it doesnt do more damage, its more of the average damage goes up. your damage average will be more consistently higher.
where you'll most likely have rolled the top end damage instead of the lower end. while with crits, you still have to deal with that huge damage range, where you may get crits with the lower end damage, which could be less damage than what you would have gotten with the lucky non crit damage, but you can also get top end damage getting crits will be extremely high more than you would ever have with a non crit lucky hit
Tbh I feel like it was explained pretty well but that's just me
Not sure what you're on about.
But yes, the average goes up, and the numbers will be better if you have more chances.
if ure interrested u can search - best la tree - in community builds ;D
Prices atm are getting ridiculous so many people new to poe just scaling prices like crazy
Its not the new people it's the endgame people lol
PoE prices scale normally over the new season and level out after a while. Leveling probably taking longer than normal due to more population. Pretty standard.
Or heres an idea, don't use the trade website and get the loot yourself. Absolutely shocked how many people are doing themselves out of the fun part of the game to go on to a website and just buy gear...ridiculous
@themelon7112 SSF is fine but the game isn't less fun just because you buy or sell gear. I think it makes the game more fun.
@@Kefka2010 Nonsense, going on to a website outside of the game itself to buy the perfect piece of gear or gear set is borderline cheating. For 10 exalts you can become a god instantly. Like a mobile game and just paying to go straight to the top except this doesn't cost £1000's. But to each their own
Dunno why, i am running out of mana on all bosses with your Ice Crit build :(
Do u have thief's torment?
I am as well I also need mana Regen on hit though
Might be using lower level spells for some things costing less mana?
@@monkeysoulz Nope.i Have that Brotherhood ring and Amethyst ring with resistances
I ended up dropping the build from the carpel tunnel of spamming mana pots. Went back to lightning and got thiefs torment
