I’m glad this kid spoke up. I’m so sick of this “he was bullied” narrative. It can’t be true for every single school shooter. Some of them are bullies themselves or are just bad people. It’s so disrespectful to the children who were horrifically killed to try and justify why someone would do something like this. There is zero justification.

Finally someone who sees his actions as what they were: evil. Bullying has nothing to do with it. I was bullied HORRIBLY in school and developed PTSD that I still struggle with. I’d never even think of doing something like this. All that narrative does is punish children who struggle with mental health issues, not the people who are actually, truly evil.

Yeah I get what ur saying BUT everyone's brain is different. You don't understand the mental aspect of what can make someone snap. I had my run Ins with bullies but that doesn't mean another tesn or kid will be able to handle it properly. There's also head injuries that can be a major cause of these school shootings. Issues with the temporal lobe of the brain can result in explosive anger. There is treatment usually anti seizure meds help alot. Check out the work by Dr amen who does brain scans he's actually correlated alot of violence to damaged regions of the brain. It could be from falling off your bike, diving into a shallow pool, anything where you really hit your head and caused enough damage

Come on…we all know what Christine meant by her post. Livestock and game animals are killed for human consumption. Predatory animals (grizzly bears, mountain lions, etc.) are killed if they pose a threat to human life. However, she was referring to domesticated animals such as pets (dogs, cats, etc.) and other small creatures that are neither food nor a threat.

Our system fails those kids by not being able to provide the help that they need so that they don't grow up and do things like this. He posted videos of himself holding up dead cats that he killed! How in the world was this overlooked?! He was also known to threaten girls, saying that he will sexually assault them. It seems that he had very poor parenting as well. There were so many red flags that should have tipped people off. 1. He shot his grandmother because she was complaining about having to pay a very high phone bill he had racked up the month before, and it irritated him
      2. He actually waited for his grandfather to leave first
      3. He then impulsively decided to "go shoot up an elementary school."

      Yes, obviously a psychopath.
But if we desire a healthier society for tomorrow, we won't stop with that assessment. We would ask _how_ a person becomes a psychopath. What causes their psyche to split away from normal empathy.
Just because he was not bullied by his classmates does not mean that he was not severely abused in some other way.
I knew a kid who hurt animals. He was severely beaten by his parents. So why did he act this way to dogs, cats, frogs, etc? My guess is that he wanted to experience having superior power over other sentient beings.

That is not true. While traits like arson and torturing animals are seen in serial killers it is also seen in people who suffered abuse as a child and who do not turn out to be killers. There has been a lot research on this and you cannot assume someone who does this will be a killer in future. Psychology is way more complex than this.
