Love the second house! It reminds me of my very first house so much 🥰 bought it when I was 21 and we completely updated it! My dad built the prettiest gas corner fireplace I’ve ever seen and we put it on the market 7 years later and it sold in two hours. I still drive by it every once in awhile to reminisce the good ol days!

I'm not sure what you mean? We don't plan to fix anyones house. We want to rent as a trial to see if we can carry the load of two owned properties. Once we rent and we get a feel of how much work it is to look after two homes than we will know if buying a second property is worth it. We love our mobile home. Nothing wrong with having two homes. I'd rather rent as an interim than buy straight away and get over our heads in work. I personally know I can manage but I still want to do a test run first just to be sure. That's why renting makes the most sense.

I love house hunting even if I'm not moving. Get lots of ideas on what you want in a house when you see more than one. The first one seems like you need to do a few little fixes here and there. I did like the second one, especially the basement room. Both were nice and seemed like they had nice rooms, closets and washer dryer hook ups. You both are right about the first house, that the sloped yard would be a problem mowing. Hope you can find the house of your dreams. There are a lot of houses out there. Happy hunting.
Leasing means that you sign a contract to rent for usually a year at a set price. If you leave before the term is up, you will still have to pay for the time that the lease states. It's a legal contract guaranteeing the owner that they get all the money that they are owed on the lease.😉

Aaron reminds me of my husband checking floors. The second one is a traditional split level. Beautiful. I owned one. If you go forward, take a urine flashlight in to check for cat urine. It's very hard to get rid of.

Are yall really looking to move or just looking at what out there. Yall have worked so hard fixing up your place and ownership means a lot in today’s world. All these homes are lovely but your renting is just paying someone’s mortgage as I’m sure you both know. It’s fun to look though 😊
We are looking because we're moving. We will have our mobile home and rent for 1 year to see if we are able to physically keep up with two houses. If we can than we will switch from renting to buying. Since we know we'll always own the mobile home we want to make sure when we own a 2nd property we can keep up with all the load that comes with two. Renting for 1 year is a good trial and will prep us for buying

One thing to check is if the house has an HOA (HomeOwners Association). We are landlords and have 3 rental properties and 3 different HOA's and none of them will allow trailers, boats, wave runners, etc to be parked in the driveway or in the yard. I am not trying to bring you down. I just want you to know to ask the landlord all of that before getting to emotionally attached to any house. We are empty nesters now. We moved out to the country. Have you considered that or right now do you prefer a subdivision? I do hope you find your hearts desire.
Generally Leasing is another word for renting unless it is worded lease to own.
LVP (luxury vinal plank) flooring. First house. Make sure it's waterproof for pets. Most are. Way better than carpet.

I liked house number 2 was very beautiful, I always encourage buying rather than renting because it’s wasting money but if that’s what you two feel is best for you at the moment then I say go for it! I know y’all both will be smart on the decision

a lease is just a rental agreement between two parties saying that you agree to all terms and usually they want you to lease it for a year or more meaning if you move out before your lease they can still make you pay for the full term of lease .

2 hands down ❤!!! My biggest concern was when Aaron smelled a foul odor,and the stairs because if you have back issues, you will get tired quickly of the stairs. We went to visit our son, and he had stairs in their home and we had a very hard time because it was hard on our backs and knees.😊. The second home was definitely a nicer home. I’m a big fan, but I’m really confused. Your channel has primarily about living on a lower income budget, and you frequently discuss having to live on a very limited income since Aaron quit his job. So, to suddenly see you house hunting & looking at large newer homes is a shock. Then you mention many just under a 6 figure salary, which is a LOT of $$! I wish you all the best, but it I do understand why some of your subscribers are questioning this sudden change.
I'm a little confused as we haven't been low income for over a year and have been doing pretty expensive home updates this year. Our channel is not a low income channel as we aren't low income. There was a time that we struggled but that time is far behind us we just didn't inflate our lifestyle when our income changed. We live in a mobile home and want a bigger home idk why this is confusing for anyone. One of my biggest regrets was sharing our low income story because now some people continue to see us that way even tho I have worked so hard to move us out of poverty and I will continue to work hard to keep moving forward in life.
In the 2nd house I would have your main bedroom in where the fireplace was that would be so cozy ❤

Make sure to have your 1099 from 2023 taxes when you go to apply to rent if you are using TH-cam as your income source, that is how they can verify that your TH-cam income is stable and that it is verifiable. Good luck with your home hunting!

That’s a wood fireplace in the second one. The house is cute and has a few things your house doesn’t have but you will still be restricted on what you can do. I mean you just bought a nice shed for your house.

The 2nd one looks nicer. Check make sure they accept pets most rentals don’t. Also check bc again some places won’t let you have anything extra out there like boat , shed, extra cars etc. you may not be able to plant your veggies. Hope you find exactly what you want.

I'm not into the open floor plan either. i love all the space, even Aaron's man cave, men need their own space. We women get the whole rest of the house. I like the second house. It's almost like the home I use to have. The right amount of space and a flat yard. You should keep looking for one like this. Split/Ranch.... How exciting. Love looking. 🥰👏👍💚💚
Before you sign a lease, always take pictures of any damage you see...then present pics and written list of damage ro landlord. Keep copies so when you move, you wont be blamed for the damage.
I say get what you and Aaron want you have to live there, we just visit through TH-cam. Although if you are looking for something more for new and different content to grow channel then you probably need something bigger and newer. Lease/rent agreements are usually year to year with a clause if you leave early you will owe so much. I know you will decide what is best for you both and I wish you well in your house hunting! I will watch no matter what. (I am with Aaron living near water is the best!)❤
I really liked the 2 nd one best. Also be sure to ask if they allow pets a lot of places won’t allow them inside or out. They also sometimes wont allow any outside sheds or boating gear

Lease and rent are likely the same thing. It would only be lease or rent to own if the paperwork states it is to own. I absolutely love looking at houses though! So exciting!

I talk a lot about this in tomorrows video but since we are keeping the mobile home a lot of diys to the mobile home will continue and I can do thrift diy flips in the new house, homemaking, shopping and decorating. I can do affordable recipes etc. the content would definitely increase with filming in two houses
Kimi, try to get a 1st time home buyers loan from the bank.. your payments on that house thru a bank would only be about $800

@kimicope_ you mean the trailer? It's not the same as buying a house. A trailer has a title like a car or truck. A house has what's called a DEED.
Please look into a first time home buyers loan. Your payments would be $500-$800 instead of paying $1500-$2000 rent. I bet you would qualify for one.❤

I prefer the second house. Funny thing, I have those quartz countertops with the sparkly bits in them in my upstairs bathroom, I love them. I also have the same bannister rails. Kimi, the windows in the ceiling are called skylights, 😂😂, you crack me up.
