- Let's FINALLY start ORGANIZING and UNPACKING these kitchen cabinets!! I also got a really inexpensive and cute shelf liner to elevate the cabinets/drawers. I think it made a huge difference in how the kitchen looks and I am so pleased with how much we got done!!

Lüften was correct😊, to be more precise you can do "Stoßlüften", its when you open the windows of a room completely for a few minutes so that as much of the air in the room as possible is exchanged with the air from outside (hope i translated it correctly)
Great Video. Your kitchen does have a lot of storage. Don’t get tricked into trying to fill up every space. It’s just you and Kelly - maybe you can get away with less of some things - like mugs. ❤ Decluttering is your best friend.
You could put your baking bin contents in that empty bottom drawer. Enjoy watching you! You are so funny and intelligent and insightful. Never forget you are beautiful and special. 😊
Or overflow from your pantry could go in the drawer.
You need a basket for your snacks on top of the refrigerator so you can just grab the basket down instead of moving all the snacks every time you need the bowls. You also can install 1 or 2 shelves above the coffee shelf. That deep drawer can hold so much.
Yes,a single basket looks better too,less visual clutter.👍
yes a basket for snacks and a clear plastic shoe bag for inside the pantry it can hold all the small bagged spices such as taco spice or onion soup mix and you can find them easily cuz of the see through plastic. good job.
I can’t wait to see you and Kelly enjoying h your living area and a comfortable sleeping area-getting closer! I would pull out your favorite mugs, including at least one for each season. Leave the rest in the box. They will already be packed the next time you move, and if they remain packed for a long time, ask yourself, “Do I really want to keep them?” You might! That’s okay.

Or if you absolutely LOVE all of your mugs, make space by getting rid of items you don't love as much (extra blender, extra crock pot etc).

It is " luften" in Austria, too! Opening all the windows and let the fresh air in and blow all the bad air out 😊! I am a fresh air junkie 😅

I was taught to use a candle for that type of drawers. The tip I have for you is to rub it on the bottom rim instead of the top rim. Because that is where the weight is on.

Just a suggestion. Put your heavy stuff on the lower shelf and the lighter stuff on the top. Always enjoy watching!
I live in an old house too, it can be gross at times. I ended up putting my cassarole dishes in the drawers and the serving / cooking utensils in jars on the counter.
It will be good exercise for you and you are right in your own kitchen!
In swedish is called "korsdrag" = cross strokes or cross breezes. It´s very nice and fresh! 👍 Your kitchen looks great!
Invest in a 2 or 3 step stool foldable . So you can reach upper cabinets easier n safer. Just and idea. From an older short lady lol

Libby, You could put your baking pans with your pots in the bottom cabinet
Libby, you can cut some cardboard to fit behind your silverware holder, and that will keep it in place every time you open the drawer ❤
It's looking soooo good!! Suggestions - from the dollar store, get those wire racks for the top cabinets so you can store your mugs. It'll make two levels for your pie plate below, mugs on top. You could also see if you can get some S hooks at the hardware store to hang mugs on your bakers rack. Also, invest in a taller step stool. You could probably find one at a thrift store, if not walmart. Especially when bringing down that heavy crockpot. Don't want you falling over! :)

I grew up on a farm with 900 acres and a grandfather who was a butcher and I can honestly say I love Aldi's beef especially their grass fed. Never had an issue. My issue with Aldi's is their seafood, lol...Also if wax doesn't work then use WD40. It works great on a ton of things around the house!

I had to WD40 my front door. It was not opening and I had to kick it to get in. Now it only sticks a bit.
Hi Libby, potentially you could buy command hooks and hang them on the kitchen wall to hang all the mugs you want to keep. They could serve as decoration for the kitchen 😊

Everything is coming along nicely! Loved the camera angles inside the drawers - felt cozy to be in there! LOL Organization suggestions: when you pick up bins for your pantry, look for a couple tall-ish ones to go on top of the fridge for the stuff up there. It's a great storage space and matching bins with tall-ish sides to "hide" what's in them will be pleasing to the eye and feel less cluttered. Also at the dollar store - get several of their loose plastic place mats (the ones that hold their shape, not the flimsy ones) and slide them between your cookie sheets/muffin tins. I did this recently and wish I had thought of it sooner! They slide in and out from one another SO much smoother now! If you keep the majority of your kitchen linens in your linen closet, put them in that deep bottom drawer to free space in your linen closet. If you don't - then think about using that for things like the vases, candles, wax melts etc. Thanks for sharing your journey!! Sending love and hugs from Virginia Beach! Shalom!
If you have a look between your top drawer and your bench top next to the stove, you have a slide out shelf for extra bench space. It may not work but I can see the tiny handle in some of your camera angles☺️
Well done on emptying the box and two totes. You are reclaiming your space. The none slip roll has a lovely design on it. Don’t call it a ‘junk drawer’ cause you wouldn’t throw everything out (I’m also trying to train myself to say this) instead call it the ‘miscellaneous drawer’. If you have some wall, space you could get cup hangers, and hang your cups up just a thought❤
Take three or four of your favorite mugs and put them on the shelf where you have those styrofoam cups. Leave the other mugs in the cabinet above the refrigerator and change them out every now and then
Use the bottom “stubborn” drawer for overflow mugs and cooking items.
You’re doing amazing with organizing! It’s challenging to organize in small spaces. I have limited cabinet space as well and still don’t know where to put all the things lol
Love this! Good work. I've got old drawers just like that. Aren't they a joy? One thing I do to keep the silverware tray from sliding backward is just stick an empty box in the wasted space at the back, like a tea box or something, since it's too far back to store anything I'd use regularly.
Me too! Random empty boxes in the back of drawers so things stay in place.
Great job! You've done fantastic organizing the kitchen and putting like items together. Have you ever watched Dana K White on TH-cam? Sorry if you've already mentioned her. I really think you'd like her declutter system. It's for those of us who aren't naturally neat and who get overwhelmed very easily. She's my new favorite! I highly recommend you get a DIY lead test kit for the lower cabinets to make sure there isn't lead paint chipping into your pots and pans. Amazon sells them. I think you use different types of kits depending on the paint color so you can research that. I love the dog photos you have up in the living room. So cute!!! I also love those drawer liners!!! The white styrofoam cups can go in the bottom drawer that needs only light stuff. Maybe candles , or some light mugs. Or Tupperware you don’t use a lot.

just kept 4 , because everyone that comes over here they bring there own drink . I always do that to when I go over to peoples home . Put them away if you haven’t touch them in 3 months get rid of them . Good old Timmy’s up here in Canada . 🇨🇦 ☕️😮
Put those silicone molds into the bottom drawer since you use those less and its light weight and you could add cookie cutters and similar stuff too

I am making chili 🌶️ right now. I make a huge batch of chili 🌶️ so I can freeze several small batches to heat up at times when we are wanting chili 🌶️ or need something quick. I like to make large batches of things we like to eat and freeze on days we are coming and going a lot. You did a great job on the unpacking and organizing today. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

FYI Aldi actually had a policy to source its meat products locally and regionally if not available locally. That’s part of why the cost is so low, it’s not shipped from somewhere else, it’s local.
Suggestion put two long shelves above your rack to put your mugs.

I think the wax or soap is supposed to go on the bottom of the drawers. Thats where they are rubbing.
Add barnwood shelves up on the wall.
Next time cut open brown paper bags and line pan shelves
Libby those pieces of wood you need to investigate underneath the cabinets and the other cabinets. Those are signs of a mouse .. look for any holes 🕳. If you see any holes. stuff the hole with hard steel pad and plaster it ..Asap. That’s not a good sign at all. Hope this helps. 😊
I can’t see that well but you might put in a sticky trap in that lower cabinet - the pieces from the wall might be from a mouse or something. Ask me how I know 😩

Are you waxing the bottom of the drawers? That is the sliding part. Use that bottom drawer for your extra mugs, or somerhing else you don't use regularly. If you have sliding hardware, make sure the plastic circle is in good shape. You should be able to get them at a hardware store. You are doing great!
Idk but those drawers are probably the same length. Since you cut one near perfect use it as a guide to cut the others.
Rub the wax on the bottom of the drawer where it actually slides.

I'm the same with Aldi meat. The chicken breast and ground beef are ok but the rest is just not good.
