    I love how different cultures have their own versions of rice as dessert! My mother (Mexican descent) makes the most delicious arroz con leche, rice with milk (I believe it’s dairy, cow milk) with cinnamon sticks and it comes out just as sticky as this recipe. I love it and can’t wait to try it my mother’s recipe with some fruits. Thank you for sharing!

    I'm so happy I stumbled upon this recipe. It was so delicious and a quick fix for my craving! It tastes just like when I order in the restaurants. Now I know I never have to buy sticky rice just for this dessert lol. Thank you!

    This is great! I noticed there is a difference between the amount of water in the video (1/2 cup) vs the amount of water in the description (1 cup). It seems like the ratio is 1:1 rice to water, which means it should be 1/2 cup, but I'd love to know what you think!

    • @foodlover4240
      @foodlover4240 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ah because she said the description is 1 cup rice to 7 cups milk to 1 cup water!
      She cooked 1/2 cup rice so it's 1/2 cup water so it's correct :)

    Why would you use Khao Suai in Chiang Mai? Mom makes Khao Niew every morning anyway.
    You can cook sticky rice in the rice cooker. Just wash and cook. It is not quite as good as the traditional way but I don't have to cut any wood.
    I am thinking that they use condensed coconut milk at the night markets. Have you played with that at all?
    I want to try this as a one pot recipe when the mangos ripen. Rice cooker, add a can of condensed coconut milk and maybe some regular Aroyo, let sit on warm for a while and throw on some fruit. The longans, lychees and rambutans get ripe about the same time in August.

    • @NinisCooking
      @NinisCooking  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know for the other, but for me, I eat jasmine rice and sticky rice, depend on what I will cook that day (and, I don't stay with my mom anymore 😁)
      oh, I've never heard about condensed coconut milk before, very interesting and sounds tasty
      what is Aroyo?
      I love all the fruits that you just said, they are very delicious and even better when eating them all at the same time 🤤
      Thank you for watching Cole, Have a nice day! 🙏

    I tried this recipe but I couldn’t get the core of the rice cooked through . And the texture tastes like rice pudding. Not ideal…I think they use sticky rice for a reason.
