Eli has had the most complete arc of what the series is trying to say about being a teenager. He went from being bullied to become a bully saw the error of his ways and found his true self and won a tournament clean and fair. What a great character

Eli is so very lucky to have a friend as great as Demitris. He annoyed me so much the first 2 seasons but he really is a good kid and very kind and forgiving. He may not be as great a fighter as Eli but he has twice the heart. I do admire Eli for admitting to Demitris that he got what he deserved. It takes a lot to admit when you were being a piece of shit and got your cumuppance.
Watching Kyler lose never gets old, especially against people he's picked on. Miguel has beat him plenty of times now, Hawk beat him, now all we're missing is Demetri.

Also, johnny almost got himself beaten to a pulp by Silver to avenge him, he cares but he probably understood that eli wanted to leave karate. Daniel didn't make a move either on hawk, it's all thanks to Dimitri that he came back, not even Miguel cared enough to check on him
I can't even describe how happy this scene made me. I've been rooting for Eli since they introduced him at the school cafeteria. It's safe to say he's the character I relate to the most. He 100% deserved to win. Way to go, Hawk!

I swear to God, Jacob Bertrand is such a talented actor- the way he can switch from being someone super depressed with low self-esteem, to someone hyper-aggressive with the Hawk persona, and finally integrating all these parts and saying that he knows himself now. Character arc development - we love to see it!

Honestly it makes sense why Eli won. He had the benefit of being trained in all three styles. He was cobra kai/eagle fang, cobra kai under kreese, and now miyagi-do.
It did make sense that he won, but to me it has more to do with the fact that he was the only character entering the final match with no unresolved personal issue. He was completely at peace and focused on the fight. That made the difference.

Right? Season 1 - Flips the script and becomes Hawk. Season 2 - Flashback to his Mum inadvertently causing the announcement about his bullying for his lip, flash forward to having his tattoo changed, spending time with Moon and having Cobra Kai disciples. Season 3 - The redemption. Season 4 - The confidence. And all to either Quiver or Call of the Cobra.
This is one of my favourite scenes in this whole series. “The guy who’s gonna win this whole f**king thing.” This line is so good and then the way he jumps up on the mat, looking so confident and focused. The quiver background music makes it so much better. This series is absolutely incredible.
I was so happy when Moon kissed Hawk. Because I honestly love them as a couple. :) The fact that just a kiss from her boosted his confidence really says a lot! ❤️

I love everything about Hawks journey this season. I love how proud he is of his friend Demetri for getting the win. I love how he’s finally found himself and embraced the Eli as well as the Hawk parts of himself.
This was so damn satisfying!!! Eli finally realizing that he doesn't need the hair or the arrogant attitude to be a badass. And when his theme started playing...chills!
Just on major movie flaw there. Would we not expect for at least one parent of Eli/Hawk to come and visit him at his/her son's tournament? And if they were present, would they not see that he has a gigantic hawk tattooed on his back? So much for learning a shirt until he is grown up. ;-)

The thing about hawk is you can’t truly hate the guy. There are a lot of Eli’s in this world And if you Been bullied then you understand what it’s like. It’s just good to see him getting his redemption.

I hated him for what he did to Demetri since season 2. To go after the best friend because of a negative comment about the dojo, trying to beat him really badly. Doing the same thing 2 more times. Fortunately he wasn't successful on this. But breaking his arm.... For me he was a piece of sh*t then. But he changed for better.
You gotta give it to Kyler. He got his ass handed to him by all these characters yet manages to remain confident and retain a decent number of sidekicks loyal to him.
Yeah, and even his other previous victim in Demetri was finally able to kick his ass during the last battle in Season 5 for that matter also! (L.O.L.!)

Eli/Hawk’s character development and redemption arc is probably one of the best parts of Cobra Kai to me. Glad he got his friends, his confidence, and even his girl back because he deserves it all
I apways admire actors that plays such great transformation in their character, but Jacob here has played HUGE character developement in every single season S1: loser to winner S2:winner to bully S3:bully to hero In S4 he had to face the consequences of s2 and 3, almost became a bully against kenny/cobra kai, then revert back into a loser, and the transform into a champion. That's some huge dedication to the characters, great writing but also great effort by the actor. I also admire that his highest point is highlited not by his fighting prowess, but by the fact that he's only at his top when he's got his best friends in his corner. He loses himself once he loses Dimitri, he started being "great" again not because of a haircut, but because he put in the effort. I know Moon gave him a boost, but she would've never came back to him if he didn't out the effort anyway and redeemed himself, so i count that as his and dimitri's win

From the looks of it, we may get Johnny's and Miguel's Karate Kid 2 moment together. Going back to the roots and having to fight not for points, but blank survival. If things go well, Miguel's father could be an aid to fight Terry Silver, as he may also be a wealthy criminal. However, who knows what putting himself on the map of his father will do to Miguel, his mother or her relationship with Johnny. So much potential there and everywhere.

My gut says he's gonna be what Chozen was for Daniel in KK2, but I could also see him being more like Sato. Hell, Robby might also join in, to make amends with both Johnny and Miguel.

I also have a weird feeling that if Miguel's father turns out to be dangerous, if we end up seeing a gun in the show(really random I know but wondering).
After this, if Kyler is not that stupid, he might just start thinking about laying low for now. Still, I believe Kyler will have his moment, the authors are not so cool in having simple villains.

When I was growing up, the bully would stop being the bully after being exposed like 14 times in front of everyone. But I see this Kyler kid is still at it.
Eli went from a character I despised to a character I loved more than anyone in one season. Seeing him in Miyagi-Do just felt right. From the guy who stole Miyagi’s medal and vandalised the dojo to the guy who embraced it and showed a lot of respect to Daniel.
If I were to count how many times Kyler was all bark and no bite, I have to say four times in a row. He was definitely not cobra Kai material to begin with lol.
It's kind of amazing that by this point, people haven't started bullying Kyler. He's been punked out so many times, you'd think he'd definitely get made fun of.
Eli might be my favorite version of a reformed villain I’ve ever seen. Every character in this show is some form of morally grey but Eli has the most development by far, his arc makes the most sense, and it comes full circle. I’m so glad he’s the one in the end to win it all. 🦅🦅🦅
Jacob bertran is a great actor,, seeing him look all shy and like he had lost his entire energy , to seeing moon bring it back into him where his whole body language changes and he looks fired up that is a really great range of emotion
Indeed this is Hawk's best moment. All this time he was struggling to find his own identity. Now he finally has. I enjoyed how his character arc finally goes full 360 circle now. His physical deformities does not define him. He is a badass with or without that mohawk haircut. Most of all, deep down inside, he knows he is a good person.
I particularly liked this scene, it is always someone in real life like Dimitri that can rise up above expectation, use their hidden intellect and surprise people with their real ability, and with Eli resurrecting himself with the mere show of support by an ex girlfriend, such great choreography and spirit in the script.
Even without the Mohawk, Eli still has his wings, Im glad Eli evolved so much in the series. This redemption arc is going crazy!!! I went insane when he fought Robby Keene
LOVE how how Sam and Demetri didn't even acknowledge their friend Moon cuz they KNEW who she was actually coming to see. Kept their backs turned to give them their moment, even.
The beauty of Hawk's growth is his new humility. Eli always knew his own weaknesses, he constantly beat himself to death over them. Hawk was his way of pretending they didn't exist, to show people he wasn't as weak as they thought, which was true. The problem was, it was still just running away from his own insecurities, pretending they didn't exist. The Hawk/Eli we see by this point in season 4 is 100% the full package so to speak: he's accepted his mistakes and flaws, and worked to atone/improve on them. He's understood the parts of himself he's proud of, and the parts he's had to overcome. So when faced with the prospect of facing Kyler, he looks at it realistically and is understandably nervous: he's not the indestructible Hawk anymore, his self discovery has unfortunately shaken his old rock hard self confidence. What moon shows him is that despite what he thinks, his new willingness to accept and overcome his faults gives Eli more reason to BE confident than Hawk ever had. He earned that the hard way.

He never showed any signs of regret breaking into Sams house, vandalizing her property, assaulting multiple people including Demetri, stealing Daniels Medal, and treating his best friends like trash. Even when repercussions came his way (i.e. He started losing friends and moon) he still refused to learn from his mistakes. Then completely out of the blue he all of a sudden shows remorse from breaking Demetri's arm. Even though a couple minutes ago you was trying to full on beat him and members from miyagi do. I don't have a problem with him regretting doing this Demetri. I have a problem with the fact that the show is now telling us that Demetri' has changed. He's a good guy now? But why? We are only giving one moment that Hawk shows he regrets his actions. ONE!!! I dont know who wrote this but you can still be an asshole and regret some of your decisions. I don't expect that one instance to change his entire character when he was litterally on doing very evil things for 3 straight seasons and no qualms about doing it. What was the lesson you learned here? Not to hurt Demetri? Well you hurt Demetru multiple times before that and you didnt care at all. Now that a limb is broken its an issue. When you coulda put him in a coma multiple times you tried to jump him before miyago do stepped in.
Best moment in season 4. Honestly, as much as I like Miguel, I don't think he would've beaten Hawk this time if they'd fought. Miguel's head was all screwed up and his heart wasn't in it, while Hawk was on a mission at this point. An absolute MACHINE.
This is Hawk's best moment, and the pinacle of his character development. Also, seen him beat the most hated character, at least for me, is delightful.
Fantastic scene…Hawk/Eli really showed off his dramatic range…the little bits of body language where he straightens up, fixed his chin and smirks shows he’s back in business

He was the only other male fighter other than Robbie to have direct, ongoing training from Miyagi-do and Cobra Kai. he was the most complete fighter Though if Miguel had taken a page out of sams book and trained with Danny is secret, he definitely would have been a more complete fighter
I love the way the show played this. After he became Hawk, Eli became absolutely furious at the mention of anything that evokes memories of his past life as a nerd, and flew off the handle whenever he fought. Now, hair or no hair, he fully understands that he will never be “Lip” again. He’s Eli Moskovitz. What more does he need to be?
At heart, he's all three. "Lip" is the shy nerd who's afraid of his own shadow but has a good heart. "Hawk" is the fearless, confident badass who takes no shit. Finally, "Eli" is the balance between the two - a smart, confident badass with a good heart. Of all the kids, he's matured the most because he knows where he's been and where he wants to go. Until they get their heads right, Miguel and Robby can't hold a candle to him.

Honestly it makes sense why Eli won. He had the benefit of being trained in all three styles. He was cobra kai/eagle fang, cobra kai under kreese, and now miyagi-do.
It did make sense that he won, but to me it has more to do with the fact that he was the only character entering the final match with no unresolved personal issue. He was completely at peace and focused on the fight. That made the difference.

I apways admire actors that plays such great transformation in their character, but Jacob here has played HUGE character developement in every single season
S1: loser to winner
S2:winner to bully
S3:bully to hero
In S4 he had to face the consequences of s2 and 3, almost became a bully against kenny/cobra kai, then revert back into a loser, and the transform into a champion.
That's some huge dedication to the characters, great writing but also great effort by the actor.
I also admire that his highest point is highlited not by his fighting prowess, but by the fact that he's only at his top when he's got his best friends in his corner. He loses himself once he loses Dimitri, he started being "great" again not because of a haircut, but because he put in the effort.
I know Moon gave him a boost, but she would've never came back to him if he didn't out the effort anyway and redeemed himself, so i count that as his and dimitri's win

From the looks of it, we may get Johnny's and Miguel's Karate Kid 2 moment together. Going back to the roots and having to fight not for points, but blank survival. If things go well, Miguel's father could be an aid to fight Terry Silver, as he may also be a wealthy criminal. However, who knows what putting himself on the map of his father will do to Miguel, his mother or her relationship with Johnny. So much potential there and everywhere.
The way I see it, it’s not gonna be easy for Miguel trying to find who you truly is. But at the end it’s all up to him. Here’s to season 5

My gut says he's gonna be what Chozen was for Daniel in KK2, but I could also see him being more like Sato. Hell, Robby might also join in, to make amends with both Johnny and Miguel.

Indeed this is Hawk's best moment. All this time he was struggling to find his own identity. Now he finally has. I enjoyed how his character arc finally goes full 360 circle now. His physical deformities does not define him. He is a badass with or without that mohawk haircut. Most of all, deep down inside, he knows he is a good person.
I particularly liked this scene, it is always someone in real life like Dimitri that can rise up above expectation, use their hidden intellect and surprise people with their real ability, and with Eli resurrecting himself with the mere show of support by an ex girlfriend, such great choreography and spirit in the script.

The beauty of Hawk's growth is his new humility. Eli always knew his own weaknesses, he constantly beat himself to death over them. Hawk was his way of pretending they didn't exist, to show people he wasn't as weak as they thought, which was true.
The problem was, it was still just running away from his own insecurities, pretending they didn't exist.
The Hawk/Eli we see by this point in season 4 is 100% the full package so to speak: he's accepted his mistakes and flaws, and worked to atone/improve on them. He's understood the parts of himself he's proud of, and the parts he's had to overcome.
So when faced with the prospect of facing Kyler, he looks at it realistically and is understandably nervous: he's not the indestructible Hawk anymore, his self discovery has unfortunately shaken his old rock hard self confidence.
What moon shows him is that despite what he thinks, his new willingness to accept and overcome his faults gives Eli more reason to BE confident than Hawk ever had. He earned that the hard way.

@@MH3Raiser Hawk spent almost 3 seasons being an absolute dick to almost everyone. He never showed any signs of regret breaking into Sams house, vandalizing her property, assaulting multiple people including Demetri, stealing Daniels Medal, and treating his best friends like trash.
Even when repercussions came his way (i.e. He started losing friends and moon) he still refused to learn from his mistakes.
Then completely out of the blue he all of a sudden shows remorse from breaking Demetri's arm. Even though a couple minutes ago you was trying to full on beat him and members from miyagi do.
I don't have a problem with him regretting doing this Demetri. I have a problem with the fact that the show is now telling us that Demetri' has changed. He's a good guy now? But why? We are only giving one moment that Hawk shows he regrets his actions. ONE!!!
I dont know who wrote this but you can still be an asshole and regret some of your decisions. I don't expect that one instance to change his entire character when he was litterally on doing very evil things for 3 straight seasons and no qualms about doing it.

Best moment in season 4. Honestly, as much as I like Miguel, I don't think he would've beaten Hawk this time if they'd fought. Miguel's head was all screwed up and his heart wasn't in it, while Hawk was on a mission at this point. An absolute MACHINE.
This is Hawk's best moment, and the pinacle of his character development. Also, seen him beat the most hated character, at least for me, is delightful.
Fantastic scene…Hawk/Eli really showed off his dramatic range…the little bits of body language where he straightens up, fixed his chin and smirks shows he’s back in business

Watching Eli fight his demons and finally see his arc come to a close was one of the best things in this series. Didn’t even care that he started losing in later seasons. I’m just like, “Bro had a whole Arc and found himself…I’m good”
Had a feeling Hawk was gonna take this all valley. He was the only other male fighter other than Robbie to have direct, ongoing training from Miyagi-do and Cobra Kai. he was the most complete fighter
Though if Miguel had taken a page out of sams book and trained with Danny is secret, he definitely would have been a more complete fighter

I love the way the show played this. After he became Hawk, Eli became absolutely furious at the mention of anything that evokes memories of his past life as a nerd, and flew off the handle whenever he fought.
Now, hair or no hair, he fully understands that he will never be “Lip” again.

At heart, he's all three. "Lip" is the shy nerd who's afraid of his own shadow but has a good heart. "Hawk" is the fearless, confident badass who takes no shit. Finally, "Eli" is the balance between the two - a smart, confident badass with a good heart. Of all the kids, he's matured the most because he knows where he's been and where he wants to go. Until they get their heads right, Miguel and Robby can't hold a candle to him.
