Honestly never gave it much thought but Johnny saying “remember the pitching machine, don’t get hit” at 2:05 really shows that he was actually a good sensei because he was teaching him fundamentals of defense even tho it would always seem he was all about offense all the time
Thing is, Johnny's mentality of teaching defense is "more offense" that's why he says to go get in. He is a really good teacher regardless of being taught by Kreese.
He showed mercy even after the injury. His character is such a sweetheart that’s why I hope he wins at the sekkai tekkai. He’s humble and learns after screwing up. I’ve grown to like Robby over time so I was cool with him being captain he earned it and does have the makings to be a great teacher and strategic like a leader but I still think Miguel is the better fighter of the two. All Ik is everybody hawk, Miguel, Robby they all need to get back to their cobra Kai ways for this tournament.

She was spoiled and naive thanks to her daddy’s one sided view on life until she seen for herself she needed a little cobra Kai in her too (when she trained with Johnny she improved a lot). She could’ve easily moved out the way and later explained what happened, and actually the moment she knew she was coming to the party she could’ve called him and said she’s bringing a friend instead she pops up with another boy who she was also flirting with prior to him seeing them at the dinner. Sam was a hot mess. She’s getting better now because she finally is learning herself but early seasons she was annoying like her dad

Damn that 1st season was really what I needed at that time, hence I love the whole series and the dynamics of the whole Karate Kid/Cobra Kai universe.
