Mike and his GET ECU Maps for the big KTM dirt bikes are legend. I have been running Mike's maps on my GET ECU for almost a year now on my 23 KTM 500 Exc-f. I also got the Traction Control knob (cheating), the ECU Map switch (1or2) and wifi module. Yes, the software runs very well on my Samsung S22 Android. Mike quickly responded to any questions I had and helped me understand some error codes unrelated to the GET. I live and ride near sea level on Vancouver Island and often ride high into the mountain trails well inland (Nelson, BC). The GET ECU has been flawless. On Map 2, the Enduro Map (Old Man map!), the 500 is very controllable in the bush, never flames out and still has tons of torque. On Map 1, Mikes Open Desert Racemap, the KTM 500 is a monster. Map 1 and TC on low are tons of fun but can tire me out after a few hours, as full race and TC off require constant attention, at least at my skill level. Map 2 and TC >5 is still tons of fun and is great for also enjoying the scenery and riding with others.
If you are going to be running in Baja or anywhere, the quality of gas could be a concern. Mike also has a bad gas map that you can have on our phone and install at any time (if you have the Wi-Fi module) on your GET ECU. You can load the bad gas map on Map 2 and switch it on and off as required. Or pull it out of the ECU and reload Mikes's maps until the next time it is required.

I love my GET (gen1) and FMF with two significant issues. First, there's two 'stock' maps that you can customise but no intuitive way to switch between two custom maps on the switch. It's always Stock + Custom, not Custom 1 + Custom 2. The second issue I have chased for months is the backfiring on deceleration. I've replaced the copper header seal, SMOG delete, set it slightly richer at 0% throttle. Super annoying.

    Hi
I’m debating in between buying an L or an RL and doing all these upgrades but I don’t know if it’s worth it to spend the extra buck on the RL model since I’m going to modify it anyways.
Been looking for comparisons all over and I’ve found none.
Anyone here like to give me some advice ?
    Thank you 🙏

@@JohnTYoung i know you have that big nomad tank on, so you're probably not worried about it too often. i'm at around 41mpg with the vortex and the ims. that low fuel light seems to always come on a little sooner than i'd like. i'm looking at the nvbdr and it has some long sections up north without fuel stops that i wouldn't risk without carrying more fuel, but it would be great to better mileage.

@alecharrington let’s say it drops to 38MPG. That’s 3 miles / gallon you’re going to come up short. Times 3 gallons, that’s 9 or 10 miles. Nothing in the great scheme of things.

I have the first version Runs so good. I'm at 2500 ft ele. But when I went to Silverton CO. @ 9300 ft. bike would not idle, idle knob would not work either.
Long story short take your WiFi dongle with you so you can make adjustments. Ran so good at lower altitude did not even suspect I would have any issues.
On a side note my buddy's 450L has Vortex got worse gas mileage but ran better than my bike.

More gas in, more horses out... I live at 7400 feet, I get it.

@@JohnTYoung I understand you live at high elevation. I'll be interested to see how this ECU works across a wide range of elevations. Like @johnhudson571, I live at low elevation, and the GET RX1 wasn't capable of running the same tune at 9300' that it runs at 2000', which was disappointing. I assume you've now used this from your 7400' up to about 12k or so--does it do anything strange with that range? And great video!!

The stall issue is why I didn't get a Honda. I got a 690. It is worse 😂

I am not. The combo makes the throttle too mellow.

Mr Young, are you enjoying life so much that you don’t have time to post anymore? Seriously John, are you OK or is the orange mean machine giving you too much of a rough time?😉Cheers, Ernie
