Thanks for the time you took to put this comparison together. Now I'm even more satisfied that I got the AIM [from Tokyo Mods (they are just a mile from my house) for less than retail]. I thought my idle was a little high after installing it last week but the manual does say idle should be at 1800 so that seems right. I like the 1 and done install with no switches. Just sold my old XR650L. I have a 2019 CRF450L I picked up with 700 mi. I rode it and it was real twitchy from 0-on throttle, and would die when chopping the throttle. I’ve never had a problem with the Vortex on a 2020 or 2021 450RL. It will be interesting to see the long term Get review. Thanks for the video.
@@TACOMOTOCO - Great doc. Thanks for the time & efforts of everyone involved. These boxes have a very exciting future.. I bought my bike used w/ Yami full pipe and Vortex already fitted. Am sure it made a big improvement in ridability as compared to stock. Also, I was thinking on the lines of Taco as it almost appears sometimes the flameout “could” be an electrical glitch. Would be a heck of a thing if we were on a wild goose chase and actually had a bad connection at the kick stand, etc. At least this is addressed in the doc. The bike is definitely worth fixing.
Considering ditching my CRF250L for the 450RL & have watched a lot of vids on 450 problems & mods. This is one of the best I've seen regarding the ECU's. The one thing I haven't seen anywhere, is a video that compares the original Honda ECU to any of the aftermarket options. Many people mention issues with the OEM parts, but I haven't found one vid that shows them. Need to see the baseline data.
Thanks John, I have a vortex and I'm staying with it cause I have it and I'm used to it, sure its plug'n'forget just like the bike, isn't that why we bought a CRF in the first place, its old school, simple and solidly reliable
Extremely informative, objective and well done video, thank you! You answered dozens of questions I had and dozens more I didn't know I had. I owe you a beer!
Wow, that’s rough.. Was gonna pull the trigger on the full GET setup today. There is another vid out (sure you’ve seen it). It runs rougher for that user as well, but the traction control is impressive as he gets moving up hills that are pretty challenging. My number one priority is fixing the scary flameout at the worst time. If that can’t be fixed, then I won’t trust the bike. I’m an older fart (speaking for myself) and spend a lot of time just putting over obstacles and keeping the slow speed abilities up. Fun right? There is the older more standard flame-out that was notorious in big thumpers in the carb days when it sort of was sucking air and just not enough fuel at just the instant you roll on the gas, and they would sort of fire backwards back through the carb and kill the motor. We got used to that, whatever remained from tinkering with jetting, shape of the slide, washers under the needle, going to pumper carbs, whatever. We dealt with it. This ‘19 450L seems to suffer from something a bit different, but more costly because theres no warning. Sometimes in a very slow turn, it’s just like the kill switch was activated and it just dies! No bloop, nothing, just turns off. Then its rescue mode to keep from dropping her. Seems “different” from the older flameout of the earlier big thumps. Could deal with that, I can’t with this. It’s not fun anymore. So, I WAS focused in the GET. But after your vid and seeing how the motor blips off idle so clean with the AIM, I’m almost willing to give up a bit of top end (highway cruise). Question is, how does the AIM run on the highway? That might be my next research item.. The GET with wifi and trouble code reader is a nice plus. Dang it, time to do more research. I wanted the GET, but already have the vortex also. It is good, but hasn’t completely solved then flameout. Sorry so long, just thinking out loud.. Your vid was very helpful. I hadn’t even considered the AIM until seeing yours run so finely tuned off the bottom like that. Looks like it would be a pleasure to ride. Thanks again - great job..
@@JohnTYoung - Ordered! Got the multimode map switch to tinker a bit. Then maybe put a mini-toggle switch in the future control board to use the two favorites. Will let you know how it works out. Thanks again!
I hear you on the flameout. My 86 XL 600 was prone to that, but my 21 450 RL is savage on the flame outs….dad bought me my first bike in 72 when I was 5…so 50 years riding this year…love my CRF 450, but it makes you look like a new rider at best with its flameouts at stop signs, worst case it could get a guy hurt in traffic…..Im up near Calgary Alberta, so heres hoping the vortex works well in the Rocky Mountains lol.
Looking forward to your review after bringing the GET to the pros and running with it for a while. Thanks for the video! Running on the stock European (+ power mod from Honda), I would have loved if you included the stock for the test as well. Yeah we all know it, but would have given a reference point.
So do I Have to change the exhaust to make any one of these ecu to work properly? I ask that because I appreciate the quite stock exhaust, and not looking for the ultimate HP. Riding dualsport and trails with my bike. Thanks John for your time, and I appreciate your knowledge.
You do not. The Vortex has a stock map setting as does the AiM I believe. I liked how quiet the stock exhaust is too, I do not miss the weight if the thing, however.
Great video, I like your practical viewpoints. Will you be making an update review on your bike after the 20,000 miles and some news on your motor wear? Thanks!!
Hey Faster, thanks! I am in the middle of making the 20,000 mile review. I wanted to get some measurements for it before I finish it, but I'm almost ready.
sounds like the GET needs more fuel. a richer mix will help stop flameout and bogging when the throttle is wicked open at idle. a good tip is before you start swapping ecu, or tunning, run it stock with a way to monitor engine temp, I used a heat strip on top of the left radiator on dirt bikes. get a fill where the temp will run on your test loop then start swapping ecu's or tunning it and you may see as you start turning up the fuel mix the engine temp should go down and when you get to the point its stumbling or fills like you are dragging the rear break its Too Rich. make note of the temp. it should be way down if you don't have a thermostat. A thermostat will mess this whole method up. and back to carb 2 strokes when changes main jets you will see a big swing in temp by swapping the main from say a 165 to a 175. let the temp get too low because of a rich mixture and it will foul a plug or just run really crappy, too lean and the motor will start to get hot and do all sorts of weird things. if you are having flameouts chances are the motor is too lean at idle to about a quarter throttle. thanks for the comparison of the ecu's.
I ordered the AIM ecu from taco moto. It will be here in the next few days.. I’ve ram the dynojet for 6000 miles well 7100 now.. can’t wait till my aim gets here..
Talk about lean.... The header on my 2022 450RL will glow after a few minutes warming up. I've only put 21 miles on it stock because my dark-imaginings have me wondering about the wear and tear on the drive train due to the jerkiness of the engine, stock. No worries. I've got a GET, ready to install from Taco Moto. I got the GET due to it's wifi programmability, but I'm starting to think the AIM might have been the better choice (I'm 60, my bones don't heal like they did when I was 30). The AIM seems like it idles better.... Plus, Im 60. I can get the AIM, you youngsters!
Not related to ECU as I have a Vortex. What header and pipe did you settle on? I have the Vortex and full Yoshi system, not pleased it’s the sound (too loud) for my taste. The engine sound on the ECU video is quieter than the Yoshi. Thanks
i haven't even picked up the bike yet, but i would choose the get because the general area i'll be in is utah nevada and arizona. sometimes would need power to get around, but also need to change up things for some of these rock hill climbs and of course for the longer road trips.
Thanks John, very good review and nice audio. You mentioned testing these ECU's with a normal/power map. I've been riding/learning with a Vortex in Enduro Map. Do you think the AiM ECU would be good upgrade to my Vortex for technical and really slow speed ridding or should I stay with Vortex in Enduro Map? Also curious if you like using the CRF clutch better with or w/o the 'Judder' spring, gonna try removing that as it never felt very precise to me.
I think the AIMs torque is great for slow as long as there's no flame out. The latest round of Taco Moto AiMs I think has fixed this. I've never run the clutch without the spring, so I couldn't say.
Great video John, best comparison I have seen yet. I run the AIM ECU and did the upgrade back in July 2022. Maybe I missed it, but what was your opinion on the AIM TC? I've tried it but honestly didn't notice much difference, and the one-pager instruction sheet didn't say anything about it. I'm also just puzzled because there are no wheel speed sensors, so I'm unsure about how the TC would really function. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
The TC was OK. I tend to turn them off. The wheels speed sensor is on the front wheel. Or did you mean something else? Your CRF is looking pretty clean Pat!
@@JohnTYoung thanks John. On my other bikes the TC compares the sensor speeds between the front and rear wheels, but on the 450 there isn't a sensor on the back. I guess maybe our simple TC is comparing front wheel sensor speed to engine/gear speed? I like the TC on my GS, but on the CRF I just leave it turned off.
Do you think GET will come out with an update to adjust idle? Forgot to mention the barometric pressure sensor in green, that’s one of the main reasons I’d get the GET, that and the app and bar controls. Love your videos! Great beard btw
Great video! I purchased the GET, and was going to keep the bike stock, minus a graves block of plate for the AIS. Do you still think the GET is the winner?
When you said that the AIM is softer in the mid range, compared to what? Softer than stock? Softer than the GET? Just something that you noticed, but really not material or whoa, it's really flat on the upper end?
@@JohnTYoung Thx John... Wringing hands over the Taco moto sale on the AIM and want to make the right decision. Most of my riding is off-road from 5-40mph and it looks like the AIM is powerful and smooth in this range. I do ride roads up to about 70mph, but I don't really haul anything but me and gear for the day. Sounds like team pink is best suited. One last question (thx for such a fast reply on a holiday weekend!) how's the engine braking on the AIM vs stock? I ride a lot of sand and the stock engine braking is more than I'd like.
John or any other followers, I am a big fan. I have enjoyed your videos and advice and have modified my 2022 CRF450RL with many of your modification . I installed the GET ecu and Yoshi exhaust and have a lot of deceleration popping (back fire). Mike at Tocomoto gave some mapping advice, but still the same. I am running 91octange, recalibrated the throttle, and adjusted the FI, up and down. Any suggestions?
Hi John, in the vid you said you were wondering how the GET would handle once you were all loaded up on a camping ADV trip. Have you tried it and how’d it go?
IMO the AiM is the best of the three. The vortex is actually ancient tech inside commanding the high price as they need someone to continue to produce the CPU. The AiM is made by a company who manufactures tech for Formula 1, and is actually pretty techy inside. You can actually tell the AiM has programmed Anti-Stall from the blip test and how it catches itself when you rapidly cut throttle. The GET had some form of ignition abnormality, sounds very retarded with the elevated exhaust note over the other two and it's ability to keep running at a low RPM.
i'm getting into dual sport. question is what is the pitfalls of the ecu and aftermarket exhaust with street use? riding mostly NM and CO so no smog checks. but are you harrassed or have to switch back to stock for inspections?
Is there a reasonable source to program the GET ECU? I can obtain the unit for a fairly reasonable price, but the markup most retail outlets are putting on this for programming is a bit insane. Typical price I have seen for the unit is $780-$850 with wifi and map switch for the RX1PRO. You can order direct from Italy for $825.
@@jeffmunro7638 The one you can afford and is your favorite. There's not enough difference to matter. Graves Light but expensive. Yoshimura Heavey but cheap. FMF in the middle.
My bike ran rough with the GET as well. The vortex seems to be doing just fine. Since you are going to be using the GET what are your plans to get it to run correctly?
I don't know any other way of contacting you so I would like to ask your opinion here. I have been riding the street and dirt out here in Oregon for the last 40 years. Your videos have inspired my brother and I to try adventure riding. We can not imagine riding a bike that weighs over 400lbs in the dirt. I ride a KTM 300 xc-w now. I have a chance to buy a new Honda CRF450RL or a 500 KTM EXC for the same price, both 2023 models. What would you do? I see that you ride a 300 too. Great bike. Is there any way to contact you by email?
Hi Ken. My email is john.grumpy.young@gmail.com. But I don’t know what I could tell you in an email that I haven’t said over and over again in these videos. Buy the Honda. Be happy.
Your bike may be stalling because you might have a crack in your vacuum lines with your closed loop fuel container system. Use some diesel quick start but just very little of it around suspected hoses to see if the RPMs rise as long as you don't put those that fuel around your intake
The Honda revs super sluggerish with all the ecu's imo, I didnt know they rev'd up so slow compared to the ktms. But I appreciate all your reviews of out of the box ecu's with out any specific tuning for your config. I run a vortex, but its a tuned vortex, Aim and Get , can they achieve perfection, maybe dont know.
what you are trying to do with the Throttle blip stall, I test this, by just turning the throttle by like .5mm to see if there is a stumble lean area in the early throttle. If it exists, its normally in that .5mm to 1 mm throttle pull area, so all you have to do is, take 2 fingers and just barely turn the throttle into this area, RPMS should only raise, if they dont raise rpm, stay the same or stumble, then its going to be a pop stall area. Ive had this with stock ecu's, that even have fuel tuners on them and Tps tune combos, simply cant be 100% fixed. However I found the Vortex 100% Fixes this issue, in my case. I run the test like mentioned above , and the rpms only gain, had a vortex for 2 years and its never pop stalled.
@@brianricoh3242 Same thing... looking for that stumble or even an outright stall. Under load it will stall the bike fairly easily - hence the bounce off a log test.
As a man with a new 23 crf450rl and a master's in baiting i can attest that i cant decide on what ecu to buy.... My fisrt frozen 100 mile ride wasn't bad. It Didn't flame and the throttle response wasnt bad..... This was mostly asphalt canyon miles......
Which one would you recommend for a supermoto build (faster street riding + wheelies)? I was thinking about the AIM, but you said it's good at lower speeds, but it's supposed to be smooth on the throttle, which would be good for wheelie control.
@@manchesterroofingsystems8016 I have the 3.5 from Nomad tanks, but I have not installed it yet. I'll get around to it, but just because I have a 5-gallon tank does not mean I have to fill it to 5 gallons every time.
I'm wondering if your swapped stator and extra electronics have anything to do with the GET not running the best. Could also be that your bike has all the smog equipment removed. Other videos I've watched like @BornAGoon don't seem to be having that issues, but he's in a warmer climate and lower elevation.
Sorry if I missed this in your video, but I wanted to pick your brain a little. I have a 2023 CRF450RL. I want to keep a stock exhaust probably forever. I'm really a stock guy at heart. But I want to eliminate the twitchy throttle mostly. I am comfy with the power. Are there any of these you wouldn't get if you were going to keep everything else stock?
They all have stock settings but if you're never going to mess with it then the Vortex is easy. Unless you want better traction control... oh here we go again
@@JohnTYoung thanks John! I got a G2 throttle tamer on it this week, and frankly I'm more than happy at this point. I can probably live with it as is. Even my brother noticed an extreme change in the throttle response. I guess the ECU at this point will still open the bike up a little more so I'm still considering, but I'm thrilled at the moment.
Hi John Can you tell me whether your fuel usage and fuel range feature still displays on your dashboard when using the Athena GET ECU? Mine does not seem to work?
you need to find Get ecu tuner who can fix it, its low speed performance not acceptible to me . I dont buy the Get processor speed is producing all your extra power (that just runs all those add ons, wifi , traction knobs, its just the map set up, which seems it has flaws in the early throttle, yet great elsewhere. The tune on your Vortex box is suspect imo
Im just wondering, other bikes who tested both the vortex and the Get at the same time, who say the Vortex was crazy fast and the Taco map less so. Even taco mentioned that on his 2020 500 video. Vortex power 1 too crazy for stock suspension, Get more relaxed. seems alot of craziness, and 100% its all about the map set up. Pick one and Get it Really tuned right.
I agree with you but not everyone is willing or able to have their ECU custom tuned. And in reality, they shouldn't have to, it should just work. Which is why I mention how the boxes did not work on my bike. I can not speak to others' experiences with each ECU, only my own. Thanks for joining the conversation! You've really given everyone something to think about.
Great content as always John. If your bike runs fine with the Vortex and the stock ECU but has problems with the Get and AiM, I would be inclined to say that there's a problem with the ECUs and not your bike. You mention that you use the "same" maps on each ECU to compare apples to apples. I have a 22 CRF450RL with a Vortex ECU and full Graves Ti system. After many hours of trying different settings I found switch position 4 (power Map 2 -Best power on dyno STD engine + Yosh system +2.5% richer) to be the best with initial trim setting at 5, 5, 5. HOWEVER, the bike was running way too rich. Today I set the trims to 3,4,4 and it transformed the bike. Way more power than before, silky smooth, zero herky jerky throttle and about 47 MPG. I encourage you to try this setting on your bike. I could not believe the improvement over the original 5,5,5 setting.
@@JohnTYoung 12 o'clock got back to me. They said the AMG works with the GET. I received the ECU yesterday and will try to get to the installation soon. There are a few install videos out there, but none specific to the Honda CRF450L... I hope the plug-n-play everyone talks about is true because I don't understand electronics when something goes wrong. Question: Despite your conclusion that the GET was the "winner", did you in the end stick with the Vortex on your bike?
How mind blowing it is that the manufacturers like Honda, KTM, Husqvarna can't figure out how to correctly map bikes like the CRF450RL/L , 350 EXC-F, etc.. I am suspicious that Vortex and other ECU manufacturers are in bed with moto brands to make extra dinero off of consumers that don't want flame outs, jerky throttle response, etc..
Any issues or reason for Fans not turning on 2021 crf450rl after vortex ecu and full yoshimura? Is the bike just simply not getting as hot like the lean factory setup?
@@JohnTYoung I thought that would mitigate the flameout problem, but I guess it doesn't really have an effect on that. I really want that 450, but my 300L runs so buttery smooth that I'm afraid to upgrade. With the slipper clutch and that engine it's like riding a toy. It's just not great on the steep mountain grades I have around here.
Not that I know of Tim. Taco Moto would know better. I rode my bike without resetting the TPS for two years before I bothered with it and there was no difference in how it rode afterward. I think it's like the difference between riding with 20psi in your tires or 19.5psi.
I'm not sure how many videos there are out there about the whys to upgrade your ECU but here's the shortlist; more HP, more torque, less twitchy throttle, runs richer with an aftermarket exhaust, runs richer with the airbox cover removed, runs richer with an aftermarket air filter, can have traction control, can be programmed to your style of riding, the colors look better when your seat is off, etc...
Vortex all the way, sorry but my friend has the GET in his 22 CRF450RL, mine is a 21 and my bike is smooth as hell with a nice hit mid to top speed, he's been tinkering with his GET to have it as close to mine as possible. We have the same pipe and other mods as we did them together, the only difference is the ECU, i'm a A rider with my AMA license, I ride both bike's side x side a lot because he wants his bike set up like mine. No issues with the Vortex whatso ever, braaaaap
@John T. Young I didn't get that between both bikes side x side, not too mention both were on the dyno, the only difference was the curve of the power, HP gains were the same
I don’t understand how there can be such a difference between the AIM and GET. If they both contain maps from the same tuner, where does the difference come from?

Am sure it made a big improvement in ridability as compared to stock. Also, I was thinking on the lines of Taco as it almost appears sometimes the flameout “could” be an electrical glitch. Would be a heck of a thing if we were on a wild goose chase and actually had a bad connection at the kick stand, etc. At least this is addressed in the doc. The bike is definitely worth fixing.
@@TACOMOTOCOthank ya sir. Have a 2021 450RL and have to get one some day soon. Just unsure which at the moment.
Ah. I'm sure I have the original ECU buried around here somewhere...
Thanks for another great review John, The AiM unit sounds like the best fit for me.
I really liked how smooth the bike felt on it.
Thanks John, I have a vortex and I'm staying with it cause I have it and I'm used to it, sure its plug'n'forget just like the bike, isn't that why we bought a CRF in the first place, its old school, simple and solidly reliable
All true. I have not sold mine yet. I still have it.
Good job. But it would be even more helpful if you told us what maps and what settings were being used in each ECU.... 👍
The Dyno Power or Max Power map in each.
Extremely informative, objective and well done video, thank you! You answered dozens of questions I had and dozens more I didn't know I had. I owe you a beer!
Belgium White please!
Sounds to me like the AiM is your new ECU.
@@JohnTYoung - Ordered! Got the multimode map switch to tinker a bit. Then maybe put a mini-toggle switch in the future control board to use the two favorites. Will let you know how it works out. Thanks again!
I'm happy with my AIM and it does fine on the highway but I don't ride above 65 mph.
AIM Verdict: 👍🏽👍🏽 Smooth, with plenty of power everywhere. It didn’t matter what map I used. Hard to not like it.
Thank you for comparing these
My pleasure!
Looking forward to your review after bringing the GET to the pros and running with it for a while. Thanks for the video! Running on the stock European (+ power mod from Honda), I would have loved if you included the stock for the test as well. Yeah we all know it, but would have given a reference point.
I wanted to do that but I can’t find my stock one anywhere. Last I saw it, it was in the back of my truck bouncing around
Great video, thanks. I am a little surprised you went with the Get over the AiM, I thought in the video you were happier with the Aim.
I was/am happier with the AIM. But then again, the GET is nice too....
Great video, I like your practical viewpoints. Will you be making an update review on your bike after the 20,000 miles and some news on your motor wear? Thanks!!
Hey Faster, thanks! I am in the middle of making the 20,000 mile review. I wanted to get some measurements for it before I finish it, but I'm almost ready.
sounds like the GET needs more fuel. a richer mix will help stop flameout and bogging when the throttle is wicked open at idle. a good tip is before you start swapping ecu, or tunning, run it stock
with a way to monitor engine temp, I used a heat strip on top of the left radiator on dirt bikes. get a fill where the temp will run on your test loop then start swapping ecu's or tunning it and you may see as you start turning up the fuel mix the engine temp should go down and when you get to the point its stumbling or fills like you are dragging the rear break its Too Rich. make note of the temp. it should be way down if you don't have a thermostat.
You're welcome Randy
I am not interested in changing anything but the twitchy throttle and flameout. What would you recommend? Great video and thanks for sharing.
Throttle Tamer throttle tube.
I ordered the AIM ecu from taco moto. It will be here in the next few days.. I’ve ram the dynojet for 6000 miles well 7100 now.. can’t wait till my aim gets here..
You're going to love it.
Jordan, 1 year report? I have 7K miles on my 501 with a PCM5 and am looking at the AIM. Primary BDR and forest stuff here in the PNW - thanks
I'm not that far behind you Michael. And while my bones don't heal as fast, I have better insurance than most kids...
Thank you thank you!!! Excellent information you provided!
Glad it was helpful!
Not related to ECU as I have a Vortex. What header and pipe did you settle on? I have the Vortex and full Yoshi system, not pleased it’s the sound (too loud) for my taste. The engine sound on the ECU video is quieter than the Yoshi. Thanks
I am running the graves now but if someone gave me an FMF to try I would for sure do it. And yes, the Yosh is VERY loud.
i haven't even picked up the bike yet, but i would choose the get because the general area i'll be in is utah nevada and arizona. sometimes would need power to get around, but also need to change up things for some of these rock hill climbs and of course for the longer road trips.
Sound reasoning Cyber
The vortex has been awesome on my 22RL
Worked on mine as well.
What software do you use to edit your videos. Your videos are amazing! Thanks John.
Thanks Ken. I use Adobe Premiere.
You werent running the torque map on the vortex, on this 3 box comparison were you?
Shoulda been on map1

Nice!
Do you think GET will come out with an update to adjust idle? Forgot to mention the barometric pressure sensor in green, that’s one of the main reasons I’d get the GET, that and the app and bar controls. Love your videos! Great beard btw
It's all about the beard Alex. LOL. I think retailer may come out with updates... don't know about the manufacturer.
It was explained to me that the barometric pressure sensor is already on the bike feeding info into the ECU. It is not on the ECU itself.
@@ericyoung1973 interesting! Good to know, thanks! :)
Great video! I purchased the GET, and was going to keep the bike stock, minus a graves block of plate for the AIS. Do you still think the GET is the winner?
GET for the Oomph!
When you said that the AIM is softer in the mid range, compared to what? Softer than stock? Softer than the GET? Just something that you noticed, but really not material or whoa, it's really flat on the upper end?
Man I am bad at reviewing things. Softer than the GET. Equal or a tiny bit better than the Vortex.
@@chnl2commentisdumb Oh, I hadn't really noticed any difference, but I wasn't looking for one. Great question tho!
Check your header bolts and pipe joints and make air isnt getting into the system.
Does the vortex have more up top than the AIM but less than the GET? Could you give a little more feedback from the butt dyno how each one feels?
So so sorry. The Vortex has the least all round. AIM second. GET the most from bottom to top.
@@JohnTYoung awesome. Thanks!
Hi John, in the vid you said you were wondering how the GET would handle once you were all loaded up on a camping ADV trip. Have you tried it and how’d it go?
I have not yet.
Copy.
i'm getting into dual sport. question is what is the pitfalls of the ecu and aftermarket exhaust with street use? riding mostly NM and CO so no smog checks. but are you harrassed or have to switch back to stock for inspections?
Nope, not where I live.
That’s a question for the manufacturer. Their software is EXPENSIVE.
John is replacing the exhaust mandatory with the vortex, or just highly recommended?
Highly recommended.
@@JohnTYoung which exhaust in your opinion is a good match with the vortex?
@@jeffmunro7638 The one you can afford and is your favorite. There's not enough difference to matter. Graves Light but expensive. Yoshimura Heavey but cheap. FMF in the middle.

I'm going to take it to a pro and let him/her tell me what's wrong with it. The GET you tried, was is a new new one?

Be happy.
Hi Ken. I'm in central OR. and have 2023 450RL on reserve, hopefully by April. Maybe see you in the OregonBDR on your new bike!
Your bike may be stalling because you might have a crack in your vacuum lines with your closed loop fuel container system. Use some diesel quick start but just very little of it around suspected hoses to see if the RPMs rise as long as you don't put those that fuel around your intake
It's acted this way from new, but I'll take a look. Thank you.
What does your butt dyno say the difference is power wise? If you had a Vortex already and are happy with the power, would you bother switching?
It's enough extra over the Vortex that I am definitely switching.
I think the L,RL, and X all have a little extra mass compared to the R and the KTM 500.
what you are trying to do with the Throttle blip stall, I test this, by just turning the throttle by like .5mm to see if there is a stumble lean area in the early throttle.
I also run a 10% faster throttle with a vortex , extremely smooth in early throttle.
GET SX-1.
Which one would you recommend for a supermoto build (faster street riding + wheelies)? I was thinking about the AIM, but you said it's good at lower speeds, but it's supposed to be smooth on the throttle, which would be good for wheelie control.
The GET is better in the higher RPMs tho.
I got the Vortex and am debating going back to stock.. I miss the fuel range!
That may be a first!
@@JohnTYoung haha probably it just caused a big drop in fuel mileage. Maybe an excuse to just get the tank you have lol 😂

Could be, but the Vortex runs perfectly and has for 20,000 miles.

I like the FMF too
What are your settings for the
Twitchy throttle for the vortex Ecu?
I only every ran 5,5,5 for the most part.
you need to find Get ecu tuner who can fix it, its low speed performance not acceptible to me .
Notice you have on the Gearne boots , nice review

I’ll give it a shot!

Has more to do with Euro and EPA regs than anything else.

Any issues or reason for Fans not turning on 2021 crf450rl after vortex ecu and full yoshimura? Is the bike just simply not getting as hot like the lean factory setup?

Why not use an the crf450X ecu?
I'm not sure how many videos there are out there about the whys to upgrade your ECU but here's the shortlist; more HP, more torque, less twitchy throttle, runs richer with an aftermarket exhaust, runs richer with the airbox cover removed, runs richer with an aftermarket air filter, can have traction control, can be programmed to your style of riding, the colors look better when your seat is off, etc...
Where one would even begin to troubleshoot such issue, regarding the engine not performing well at high temps? Frikking gremlins 😵
