Everything depends on the AI for these games since they are mostly single player. If the AI is brain dead and needs tons of cheats to be competitive then the game is worthless.
The short timeline harms it for me, also the family tree part seems to be the only new thing, making it feel like "Civ Light" or a mobile version of Civ. Yes, yes, it is early access, but it needs a more unique feature imo... total war style battles? xcom style battles? even more depth into the governing/family side with spying, backhanders, assassinations, plots, coups, marriages to unite sides, affairs to break sides... Looks like someone was trying to mash Crusader Kings and Civilization together.
R3GARnator good plan.
So, basically is Crusader Kings 2 in ancient history
Wot.. have you not been paying any attention
@@omgfackdehell I mean, in broad sense
@@marcotemperini5467 well.. no. More like civ + ck2
My question is...
CAN IT BE MODDED?
Great game, but memory leaks make it crash regularly as the game progresses.
CK2 x Civilization 4
Well this game sounds inter...
>Oh yeah, and the game is on the epic gamestore.
It is time to sail the seas again, then.
How can I get an ambassador? I never have any to sue for peace.
You need to get someone in your court that has the ability, an 'orator' I think. You can get them from random events (often triggered by scouting) but you can train one of your heirs up for it.
@@James-vd9hg I have heirs with orator specialisation. I can not "make" them to be ambassdor. Is there a specific option I need to click?
@@nagyzoli There is actually a random science that is midway up the tech tree that you have to have so you can have ambassadors. It's pretty strange but you can start a war right away but can't make peace for ages because of science, it's probably the biggest flaw I have found with the game.
@@James-vd9hg Oh :(. And how does the AI get so advanced in military? They spread and build much faster than me
not on steam ok later
you angry brother can actually assassinate your heir, although this seems to be a less frequent thing. And in order to make certain you have to have a spymaster to look into it
It just happened in my Rome game xD
Looks good and a lot of things that could be developed to make it better, going to wait to see what humankind is like before choosing one
It would be better compared to Crusader Kings or Europa Universalis, it seems
Mmm kinda not really - that aspect of the game makes up about 20% of the gamplay - the rest is traditional 4X building on a hex grid.
Looked good till 13:01 :(
Everything depends on the AI for these games since they are mostly single player. If the AI is brain dead and needs tons of cheats to be competitive then the game is worthless.
Not buying in the Epic store, but thanks.
Own it. not good at all play civ till this gets ironed out in updates.
The game looks interesting.
It's on epic.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
I know that this is an embarrassing question but how can you have kids in this game i can't figure it out
They just have them randomly when a man is married to a woman.
The list is endless, but, imo it needs a "something" to make it stand out and be it's own game, and not "Civ Light". (and I hope it does!). :)
it does have spying, assassinations, plots and political marriages and affairs.
everything sounds great.
but its a hard pass on epic game store.
Hard pass?
omgfackdehell Rock hard pass.
@@Tubalcain422 why?
omgfackdehell because i don’t have epic game store, and I am not downloading and setting up an account for a few games I can live without.
i personally prefer civ games because there's just a different level of satisfaction starting with warriors, then rifleman and finally aircraft carriers, missile cruiser and nukes
Epic store exclusive? Hard pass.
Their previous publisher went bust so the game was going to fail if they didn't take Epic's offer.
@@GodlikeGamersz This is valid. I applaud struggling developers for securing the funding they need to fuel their passion- and talent-driven projects; even if it's from Epic. But I, personally, won't so much as install EGS until some big changes happen.
I just hope the devs can bring this up GOG soon.
@@GodlikeGamersz they could have gone with another publisher. There are always other options, this one was best for them, not for their costumers.
@@jorisbongartz I replied to you before but as I said, they tried to find a publisher for over a year. If it's between going with Epic and having your game likely not see release at all, you know which option they're going to take.
@@GodlikeGamersz The option that is most profitable for them. I don't blame them, that is how business goes. But i am under no illusion that it is worse for me as a potential costumer.
One feature that Civilization has that is an automatic win - is that it's available on Steam!
Can't stand the UI. There are lineages, eh? And were is that little feature hiding?
With the family screen and legitimatcy which passes from ruler to ruler
Soo poor...
So the game is on the Epic Games Store? That's great, i buy all my games from there.
Epic exclusive? that's gonna be a no from me dawg
I am always demolished by the AI after about 100 turns or so. Some random even causes war and the AI has like 3 times the number of soldiers. HOW?! "The able" difficulty. Also they have a shitload of cities ( I usually have 3 or 4, just like in CIv 6). Production takes ages
100000 features in civ 6 not in old world next =p Game feels so bare and stale after 20 turns.
Well its is in super early access and this build is more a proof of concept and not representative of the final product.
its a good point. with a game like this, development resources can be kinda crucial for longevity...
Gotta ask, what's all the hate for the Epic game store?
They purchase exclusivity for games rather than improve their store and Tencent, a chinese company has shares in epic and China is a bad word to gamers.
@@RepublicOfPlay Yet they also pull dead games off the scrap heap and assist them (like this game, it wouldn't exist without epic) and also allow Developers to keep a larger percentage of the profits.... sooooo.
Xanthira222 larger share and less game support and other features
I hope that you can pick only male leaders and kings, then i might give this game a chance.
That’s kinda weird
What, no Julianna Caesar? Lol
@@Tubalcain422 Well he's saying he wants to pick only male leaders, so he doesn't want an Egyptian Queen for instance, or Dido of Carthage. So yeah, pretty odd.
@@RepublicOfPlay I want games with many options, that's what i'm essentially saying. I want to be able to pick only maps without any snow, would like to play only male characters and would like to with a big POV, fast animation ect. I've got some prefrences when it comes to my video game, and that's not "kinda weird", it's normal to have some prefrences when it comes to games.
heard the game is full of sjw nonsense and feminist revisionism so will be a skip for me
I havent seen any
@@RepublicOfPlay well you are a shill who will literally market anything on youtube as long as it means you don't have to get a real job so your word isn't all that trust worhty.
Ok, enjoy your bubble
@@RepublicOfPlay well did you get a free copy in exchange for positive coverage or not shill?
Nope, I’m blacklisted by most companies, and most people think I’m a hater, which is funny that you’ve stumbled onto this vid and think I’m a shill.
Sounds to me like Imperator Rome but much worse...
Mmm completely different game really, just same era, this is more comparable to Civilization. It’s a turn based hex strategy game.
@@RepublicOfPlay Same family system and the way you expand is very similar
@@command_unit7792 Totally different gameplay. Both use historic civs
Garbage. Im waiting for Humankind.
What has you excited about Humankind
@@RepublicOfPlayTiny tents and wide steppes.
