Look at the positives on that Alex. Firstly the scenery was incredible, secondly you got that nice Pollock to save the blank and finally you now have the Navionics app. Better luck for the remainder of the trip and look forward to next week's vid.
Good video man. Sea urchin, almost certainly otter been at it. I got completely pestered by them spiny starfish last time i went to Armadale . All the best.
A grand day ,beautiful mark, nice pollock and a spiny starfish. Not bad. Common sea urchin shells. Probably eaten by otters by the looks of them. Cheers for taking us along .🧔 👍
Lol..... Went out to copper Hall, in Pembrokeshire a week ago first ten minutes. Had three fish. As it's my birthday today thought I go back last night.. An nothing.... An the temperatures dropped.. Strange for this time of year,. Thanks for sharing buddy have a great time 👍😎
Great to see that spot on video - fished there many times over the years (first time in 2012), but during recent visits haven't bothered as unlike most spots in the area, attracted fluff chuckers and tourists as close to a footpath! If you are heading back feel free to drop me a line - lost count how many trips i've had to the Beara so happy to share some knowledge and spots (mostly around lure fishing for pollack and wrasse). Also, look for videos on here by Beb Lee -- lots of great spots around Dursey Island for lure fishing.
Du###y is tough work. Last few visits have been blanks except for some good pollock on the lures. If it is Bull Huss you're after go up to the pontoon.
In place like this I found that low tide much better for fishing, also easier to cast from lower rocks if you can access. You should try, I was surprised first and second time, now only going fishing 2 hours before water gets lowest. Thanks. Have a good day.
A beautiful place to fish and quite similar to some parts of Wales. You did nothing wrong fishing wise but if the fish aren't there you ain't going to catch any but well done on the blank saver. Looks like a nice place to do some overnight fishing and maybe it comes alive after dark.
Sorry if you're Welsh, bit I'd honestly compare it more to parts of Western Scotland. Part of the reason I was expecting it to be much deeper and a lot more fish. Better prepared next time though
Get yourself over to inch beach in Kerry ..tope.smoothies .bass all types of Ray. Way better chance of catch rate bud . Rossbeigh beach also very good .I'd have a 2 hook flapper put also .they catch everything including Ray. It makes your catch rate better too with an extra hook in the water .I'm from cork but stay in kerry innthe summer ..try get some sandeel also .a great bait down south and west Good luck 👍
Great minds think alike. Broke off twice on Friday, after having caught half a dozen oyster toadfish (nasty, slimy toothy things that swallow your bait and hook), so then it was time to go home. Also very hot and I forgot my bug spray...
Oh Alex, I wish I’d known you were going there. I’ve been there a few times and could have given you some tips 🤦♂️. There are otters there, probably what had been eating the urchins 🐟🎣
I'll be going back at some point and solo. I saw so many good looking marks but hard trying to combine that with somewhere the dogs can roam and Jack can play
Try looking on the fishing in Ireland website for other places man. No point ruining your holiday constantly looking for places to fish. If you see other people fishing, just ask them where else to go. Most of them will tell you. Local knowledge is key in Ireland. I once saw four visitors wasting eight stone of groundbait trying to catch bream in a place that was barren.
I did a bit of that mate, got some good info, got some duff info. I do enjoy the challenge of fishing marks I know nothing about though, just makes for slow videos for you guys that's the downside 😅
@@theawfulangler Your videos are grand to watch man. Nothing wrong with them. I'm looking forward to watching your trip around the coast. I want to do that myself one day. I hope you have a great time doing it.

Always positives mate, I'd rather be out fishing and blank than be in the office any time 😂
Difficult day, scenery & video quality is great. At least you caught which is always a win. 👍
Thanks mate, a bad days fishing still beats a day in the office!
Good video man.

Not sure I've ever been pestered by starfish. Armadale though, that's a mark I'd like to go back to!
I could sit there all day without catching anything Alex, lovely place, nice one!
Often that's exactly what I do David 😂🫣
Hi Alex cracking video in a stunning location I absolutely love Ireland used to have a weeks fishing with my dad fishing in and around county cork
Awesome place, I'll definitely be going back!
those rounded shells with spikes are called in Scotland sea potato - Echinocardium cordatum
Nice one mate thanks 👍🏼 not that I'll remember the Latin name, but sea potato is a bit easier to remember.
Great effort as always Alex
Nice pollack to save the blank
Good luck for the rest of the week
Thanks Dave!

Thanks mate! I'd love to have spotted an otter gnawing on one
@@theawfulangler next time you're this way there's hounds and some smaller bass showing at Pensarn and Colwyn. Low + & - 🧔 👍
@BobDouce awesome thanks mate. I'm out Friday but not sure where yet 🤔
Really helped me on a bad day. Thank you Alex👍
Glad I could help mate

Honestly, fishing this year has been as unpredictable as the weather, and that's really saying something coming from a lad from the midlands
Always going to be your best option chucking a lure untold fish to be had with that method
100%

Just Googled those toadfish, they might be slimy but they look cool 😎
Thanks for sharing, brian in nz.
Thanks Brian! NZ now there's somewhere I'd love to fish again 😍
Oh and yes there sea urchin shells 🐚 👍👍
Thanks I think that's unanimous

"I'm trying, I really am trying". Is that Sarah I can hear muttering assent in the background?😆😆😆
🤣🤣 I'll have to go back and check, then dish out some corrective measures if that is the case 😂😂

At least you tried and didn’t blank. Try playing with the relief shading feature it adds an awful lot more detail. 👍
Relief shading feature? You will have to explain that one to me in a bit more detail. In the meantime I'll start searching Google

Exellent video mate. Lovely pollack!
I'm glad to see Jack is doing ok. 🗿👍🏻
(Stick a link to that lure up if you get a chance)
He's doing great, thank you. If you search amazon for 60g metal jig lure, it should come up.
Hi Alex. Is that the boating app.? Cheers.
Navionics is yes, mate
You need to contact Paul Harris from Dromgowlane house, he's a fishing guide for that area, he'll put you on the best marks!!
He’s not there anymore 😢🐟🎣
I messaged a few folks but local knowledge is as hard to come by as tackle shops/bait
It’s just Ireland mate.
Not sure I'm convinced! I need another trip over just to be sure 😅
Sure, what else would you be doing. You didn't blank which is the main thing, like i seem to be doing lately🙄.
I mean I know have a name to live up to, but fishing has been hard work this year!
no offence mate but there is not such thing as southern ireland... only Republic of Ireland...
By southern Ireland, I mean the southern part of Ireland, not that's the name of the country.
Your an idiot😂 how can you not tell he means south of ireland....
Southern Ireland... 🙄
A few have mentioned this, and by southern Ireland, I mean the bottom part of the Republic of Ireland 👍🏼
