  • Ideas are the currency of life in this day and age and most people aren’t ready for the moment when their brains run dry and nothing new pops out of their minds. As a professor, Kandarp excels in teaching MBA students how to approach negotiations from a creative frame of mind, bringing his previous training as an actor into the classroom. In his talk, Kandarp advocates several strategies for overcoming creative blocks and developing a sense of humility in the idea generating process in order to unleash creative potential.
Kandarp Mehta is a Senior Lecturer at IESE Business School. His research has focused on creativity in organizations and negotiations. His teaching focuses on these topics across several management education programs. He has also been actively involved with theatre, as a director, script writer as well as a performer. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Number 2 made me think of Bassist, Marcus Miller. He talks about in his improvisation how he'll pull ideas from what's happening around him and feels that it makes the performance seem more organic.

They looked forward to that moment with joy, but without haste, not pining for it, but seeming to have a foretaste of it in their hearts, of which they talked to one another. But when they looked at me with their sweet eyes full of love, when I felt that in their presence my heart, too, became as innocent and just as theirs, the feeling of the fullness of life took my breath away, and I worshipped them in silence. Their children were the children of all, for they all made up one family.
