One major issue I had with the Pixel 6 (and went through three phones) was that when you have the screen set to very low brightness, grays weren't consistent. One phone the entire bottom half of screen was red. The second the right half of the screen was green and the third the left side green. How's the Pixel 7?
This years google pixel 7 is a good and clean design and a clean UI now android need only to focus on optimization over the years so that they dont become slow after a few years iPhone does that best of performing good even after a few years.
Hey Matthew, any chance you could provide some samples between the 4x on the 6 Pro and 5x zoom on the 7 Pro? I'm also very curious about the 3x on both phones as Google claims to use the telephoto and main lens interpolated now, where as the 6 Pro was just the main lens.
Hey Mathew? Do you think they added that aluminum for rigidity around the camera? My 6 pro's lens cracked inside. Google probably knows this as an issue since other people have experienced this.
I have a Pixel 6 Pro, the selfie photos are often missed focus. It usually focuses on the background. Very disappointed. It would be great if the 7 had eyes auto focus like that of Sony. The photos are also processed a little more sharpening in most cases.
I am using a pixel 6 pro and I have not experienced any mentioned issues, I think google did a good job in addressing the problems that came with the pixel 6 and 6 pro on launch. Now, its pretty dang good.
Title: Pixel 7 Pro vs Pixel 6 Pro! Meanwhile Video: Pixel 7 Pro vs iPhone 14 Pro Why would you even compare to iPhone any model, while you made title about comparison of the two Old vs New model? Bruh..
I wish Google would make a professional camera with all of the lenses and settings (for good star photography, waterfalls, landscapes, etc) built in. Their AI is amazing.
You have to understand, smartphones photography and pure camera photography are very very very different. Professional cameras have higher quality optics that smartphones simply cannot match. The phone would be huge. But smartphones face such ridiculously powerful processors (cpu, GPU, TPU or ISP) and software that their computation photography can't be heat by a pro camera. So it doesn't make sense for Google to make dedicated pro cameras. They're a software company.
@@jakublizon6375 Yep. I have a nikkon camera. That's why I'm wishing they would team up with someone and put those optics into a full on camera. The AI does some amazing processing that many mid-level cameras (non cell phone) don't do.
I still cannot believe that the 6 pro has a bad modem. I literally stand here with a one plus, my pixel, and a pixel 4a5g and this is by far the BEST signal I have had on a phone, I live in the middle of nowhere and no one in my house can get signal unless they go outside, I get LTE and 5G UC IN DOORS when even verizon owners who come to my house can't get signal indoors.
My Pixel 6 Pro had some things I didn't like. The battery outside of battery saver just wasn't enough. My S21+ gets me battery all day as to where the Pixel 6 Pro always needed a charge at some point during the day. The screen sometimes wouldn't register touches if there was an X to close something on the curve. If it at least had a longer lasting battery I would love the phone. The speakers definitely weren't my favorite. Never had any major issues other than that. Hoping the Pixel 7 Pro fixes that stuff.
@@brokenSnake I'm now getting a full day of battery out of the Pixel 7 Pro as opposed to the Pixel 6 Pro. No more accidental touches or dead spots. The extra brightness is nice too. The bit of extra width to the phone makes it much more comfortable to hold. I'm much happier with this over the Pixel 6 Pro.
I put my apple 15 on the shelf & bought a used Pixel 6 Pro. Besides the brightness issue, loving the Pixel 6 Pro. iPhone 15 option to return in December is looking good.
I'm so incredibly excited to hear you had a good experience with the modem. I dumped my 6 back in feb due to the call drops, quality issues, cell disconnects, wireless disconnects and just absolutely terrible use as a PHONE. This sounds like it improved on everything that made me dislike the 6 enough to get rid of it. I'm going to give the 7 pro a shot.
Sorry to burst your bubble. I got my pixel 7 pro yesterday. I installed 2 sim cards and they seemed to work fine with the wifi on. Today however I had no signals for the whole day on either sims. It didn't work even after restarting and resetting the mobile network as instructed by Google chat support etc. I eventually noticed there was an unfinished android update and so I went ahead to finish the update. That seemed to fix the problem now. This put doubts in me so I checked the mobile network signal strengths in setting/about phone page against my p6p. I can say in my case the P7p mobile signal strength is almost exactly the same as my p6p. So I'm quite disappointed as I had a real problem with my p6p network connectivity. I'll have to wait until I get to work tomorrow to see if P7p is any better because my p6p's network connectivity is at its worst at work. Hopefully, I'm dancing just in the shadows.

This device looks really nice if you don't mind google collecting all of your data and listening to you 24/7 (let's be honest, that is probably happening to us all anyways). Apple has always been ahead in the video department but behind the android flagships in terms of photo quality and it looks like it's the same story here. I guess it just comes down to "iOS vs android" as always.
@@malcomM96 LOL no one should trust the government. Not sure what that has to do with Google spying on people, which they repeatedly do and get caught doing. Yes, Apple does the same thing as Google; they both have the policy of "Your data is private except from us".
How is the overheating issues while using camera or using video. I used my pixel 5 in Puerto Rico and it shut off 5 mins of video filming on a 78 degree day. Thinking trading it in but not if it's still overheating issues.
On your video the Pixel 6 pro it has a pure black screen on the phone, whereas the pixel 7 pro seemed more grey than Black, perhaps you had max brightness on P7pro and over saturated Blacks.
People who don't know crap about technology tend to blame the phone. I have the P6P and never have a single issue with it. If you play games for 30 minutes, of course the phone will overheat and drop calls are not because the phone, is the carrier....If you factory reset your android phone after an update, you'll not have any problems.....
Hola, el sensor Sony del p6 pro es mejor, en video con las ultimas actualizaciones y quitando los 10 bits HDR es igual, pero el sensor Sony siempre estará un paso por delante en fotografías. quizá el procesado sea mejor en el 7 pro.
Appreciate the unbiased review !!! The over-sharpening of subject was one of the main reasons I returned my P6P, so that still exists on the P7P, but I really like the new zoom and macro features, so may give it another try.
I'm upgrading from my 6 to the 7 as best buy gave me a trade-in worth gold ($480 + $100) in the US. Also sort of a future proofing if I had to trade-in the 7 for the 8 pro next year ;)
@@MatthewMoniz yeah I'm going from the base 6 to the base 7 that was the only deal that made the upgrade possible for $40. I enjoyed this video, thanks!!
Was attemting to do the same here in germany buying a pixel 7 and getting the pixel buds pro and selling that for 500-600 Euro on ebay kleinanzeigen. Getting an upgrade for 50-150 Euro. But honestly i don't see where it's worth it to spends 150 euro right now. But for 40 bucks without any additional work i would have done it too.
I'm with T-Mobile and traded in my Galaxy S10 plus on Sunday and got $800 for it. Got the pixel 7 pro for just $99. So far, zero regrets. Adios Samsung!
I watched other reviews on the 7 Pro and it didn't seem like a very convincing upgrade from my Pixel 6 Pro UNTIL I saw this review. After seeing you compare the two phones together this seriously makes it sound like it's worth the upgrade, especially considering I've been on the more buggy side with the 6 Pro.
I would have upgraded from 6 pro but I'm locked in a contract. Not end of the world seeing my pixel is mostly buttery smooth. Guess I'll have to wait for pixel 8...
pixel 6 was my worse choice of gadget especially with that huge price point, the software keeps lagging, the battery sucked in half a year, phone easily gets heated, the parts are overly pricy to get fixed even pricier than apples , the phone itself keeps lagging over one year and the whether you like the hardware or not, it’s not that strong or durable , shocking the volume and power button came off wtf it was a ride using that phone 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ apple always seemed overrated but it’s undoubtedly the best you can have i would never ever recommend another pixel phone to anyone
I had the OG Pixel XL. I have been waiting for years to come back to Pixel. Finally I get to. Google has finally provided a great device (upon first impressions anyways).
Hey Matthew, any issues with 7 pro while wireless charging on in Tesla ? Wondering if camera bump lifts the phone enough to not work with Tesla wireless charger?
Thanks for the vid! the on thing I did NOT like about this video is that you name it Pixel 7 pro vs Pixel 6 pro... and you just kept comparing it to the Iphone 14 leaving the Pixel 6 pro totally out... which is misleading. I get you but, for example I have the Pixel 6 pro, so I want to see how it compares to the Pixel 7 pro, hence look for your video... but, you compare it to the Iphone instead, you should just name it Pixel 7 pro vs Iphone 14 pro.
Finally a video!!!! Awesome video. After watching it I'm glad I pre-ordered the Pixel 7 Pro. I'm impatiently waiting for it to arrive right now. I'll be upgrading from the Pixel 4 XL. I think I'm going to miss the Soli sensor.
How is the reception on the P7P vs the P6P? That's my biggest grievance from upgrading to the P6P from the P2 XL -- my reception was a huge downgrade, and it seems to be a common issue with the P6P. Hopefully that was resolved this year!
Being in IT and having used Samsung phones in the past when I went with my first Pixel phone 6P & Google Fi Ive never felt any of the new phones that I have owned have been anything but great devices.. 6P (though the battery issue toward the end was a bummer). Now I have the Pixel 5 and it has been a great phone. Simply put it works. Looking forward to the new 7Pro, if it is anything like the Pixel 5 I own now it too will be a great device.
I had to return my pixel 6 due to constant signal drop. Apparently the Samsung modem they used was awful so I'm still very sceptical. I'd love to buy the pixel 7 but I'm not sure. Has anyone had any issues with pixel 7 reception?
I have the Google pixel 6 pro and I've noticed after dropping the phone there's a noticeable rattle in the back cameras, I'm considering to get the pixel 7 pro as it has more better features and hopefully no rattle if I drop it
Ah, i got a great deal on a pixel 6 pro some months ago. $480 for what was the top end phone at the time. The P7P dosent seem to add $900 worth of extra features to me so im probably just gonna wait for the P8P
You can trade that phone in with Best buy and get $545 towards the pixel 7 pro. So for around $350 you can upgrade and you also get a $200 gift card on top.
I contacted Google Support through Google One because there's a lot of users like me having darkening processing issues when taking pictures. When taking pictures, the processing adds a darkening layer onto the picture. This has caused me to edit the highlights and shadows in Google Photos to make it look presentable or at least Google Pixel's expected level. Google Support informed me to clear the cache of Google Photos as the first action item. I am not sure if that totally fixed the issue, but the difference after clearing the cache seems to be there. Let's see how this goes. I upgraded from the Google Pixel 4a to Google Pixel 7 Pro. I am trying to get used to this phablet.
The intro is literally the opposite of my experience with nexus and pixel. I have yet to have an issue with any of my devices from google. I think the only issue I did have is I pointed my nexus 6p at a solar eclipse and the camera broke for some reason...like...just stopped working, I have had every pixel, and even my 6 pro has no issues.
Could u revisit the 6 pro? I heard from mkbhd and other reviewers dat all or most of those bugs are gone now, is dat true? How good is the battery now?
Great video as always, Matt. Awesome job! By the way, hope you could help me. I'm torn between the 14 Pro 256GB ($1020) and the 13 Pro Max 256GB ($895). All I do is the following: Social Media, Email, Video streaming, point and shoot picture and video, then game CODM. I'm planning to keep a phone for 3-4yrs and wants something that can last a day with my usage.
Thanks Drew! Honestly they're both more than capable for the stuff you listed and will both last 3-4 years. I mean it seems you want a bigger screen so I'd probably lean towards the Pro Max.
@@MatthewMoniz awesome. Thanks, Matt and you are welcome! Are the dynamic island and the 48MP camera worth considering or the 13 Pro Max as is is a great buy for $895?
most of the improvements mentioned are just software updates, the extra zoom is at the expense of a smaller sensor and the new visor design is more refined but missing the unique look of the 6 as for actual improvements i guess it would be the AF on the ultrawide and 4k60 on all cameras, which could be a software thing also... and the brighter screen, chances of this even being a minor revision of the same panel are slim to none
I have heat issues with my pixel 6 Pro. I bought a dbrand skin to put over the phone instead of using a case but the heat is unbearable I ended up using a case. I wonder if there are any heat issues with pixel 7 pro?
Moniz! The everyday man's reviewer. I personally am an iPhone user, currently the 14 pro max, but I have to say that Google really kills it with the hdr. The thing is -- when a regular guy like me looks at a photo, we are looking at the subject. We aren't analyzing too much what's happening in the background. So although having a beautiful blue sky is preferable, it seems more important (to me anyway) to have the subject's skin tones accurate and for the subject to be appropriately lit. Google is alllmost there but still seems to fall short a bit in that area (based on pictures I'm seeing in reviews).

So the 7000 mAh is great, but the rest of the phone is really outdated.
One major issue I had with the Pixel 6 (and went through three phones) was that when you have the screen set to very low brightness, grays weren't consistent. One phone the entire bottom half of screen was red. The second the right half of the screen was green and the third the left side green.
How's the Pixel 7?
How long do you spend on your phone.. get a life
@@aliengineeringinc LOL
This years google pixel 7 is a good and clean design and a clean UI now android need only to focus on optimization over the years so that they dont become slow after a few years iPhone does that best of performing good even after a few years.
Ya im really happy with pixel 7 pro / pixel 7 even though this is what the pixel 6 pro should have been
Hey Matthew, any chance you could provide some samples between the 4x on the 6 Pro and 5x zoom on the 7 Pro? I'm also very curious about the 3x on both phones as Google claims to use the telephoto and main lens interpolated now, where as the 6 Pro was just the main lens.
Any over heating. How’s signal strength compared to other phones? Thanks.
I really like how you approach the review, tx for it
I had to watch your video first Matt! Great video and I think this is the year of the Pixel. They finally put it all together.
Thanks Danni I appreciate it! I agree they did a good job this year.
@@MatthewMoniz you’re welcome! I love the photos with the Pixel. The video was a
Little bad if you’re moving a lot. Was it usable with static footage?
Hey Mathew? Do you think they added that aluminum for rigidity around the camera? My 6 pro's lens cracked inside. Google probably knows this as an issue since other people have experienced this.
I actually love the look of the phone. As a device, it ticks most of my boxes at a good price.
Ya i mean its personal preference in terms of design but for the price its great
I think the pixel6/7 pro and galaxy s10 plus have the best designs definitely my favorite phones when it comes too looks
Hi , how's the overheating with the pixel 6 pro ?
@@becamb7339 it does overheat I'd say but its not to the extent of it being a bother....
Title: Pixel 7 Pro vs Pixel 6 Pro!
Meanwhile Video: Pixel 7 Pro vs iPhone 14 Pro
Why would you even compare to iPhone any model, while you made title about comparison of the two Old vs New model?
I really can't see the difference between 6 pro and 7 pro. Maybe 7 pro is slightly brighter, but is it better, more natural? Don't think so.
P7 is basically the p6 on Android 13 with an okay battery
@@brokenSnake I'm now getting a full day of battery out of the Pixel 7 Pro as opposed to the Pixel 6 Pro. No more accidental touches or dead spots. The extra brightness is nice too. The bit of extra width to the phone makes it much more comfortable to hold. I'm much happier with this over the Pixel 6 Pro.
The updates fixed the battery 🔋 issues
@@zakibey7 I wound up getting rid of the P6 Pro and got the P7 Pro on launch. Much better experience.
I put my apple 15 on the shelf & bought a used Pixel 6 Pro. Besides the brightness issue, loving the Pixel 6 Pro. iPhone 15 option to return in December is looking good.
Great video .Let's compare it to the Iphone 14 Pro Max to the Pixel 7 Pro.
Thanks Phillipe!
@@kianvoonyau3390 ahhh dont do this to me! I want to believe they fixed it!
@@greganson3627 I know right! I'm sooo disappointed it happened! Google really needs to get their shits together! I really hope it'll be fine when I get to work in an hour or so.
@@kianvoonyau3390 Please let me know if you don't mind...this issue with the 6 is what is holding me back. I really hope it's not something that will continue with the 7
@@greganson3627 Phew! What a relief! I believe the network connectivity problem yesterday was due to a mishap during the update. I turned off the wifi and still had signals all day at work. The connection did appear to be better than my p6p. Hopefully my little hiccup hasn't put you off pixel 7 pro. 😄
I had zero issues with pixel 6 pro. connection on my 6 pro was fine. why the heck does youtubers allways mention Iphone in theire rewievs 😡😡 just to be clear: pixel 6/7 pro is waaaaay better than Apples medio core overpaid phones

I'm thinking of trading in my OnePlus 10 Pro for the pixel 6 pro, but i'm not sure about that, as i never used a Google phone before, any ideas ?
This device looks really nice if you don't mind google collecting all of your data and listening to you 24/7 (let's be honest, that is probably happening to us all anyways). Apple has always been ahead in the video department but behind the android flagships in terms of photo quality and it looks like it's the same story here. I guess it just comes down to "iOS vs android" as always.
agreed!
You've got to be insane to think apple isn't doing the same
@@bearwynn I just said that is probably happening to us all anyways (meaning it happens on an iPhone too).

You got me sold on the Pixel 7 pro. Absolutely fantastic review for a phone I've been yearning to purchase. Keep up the great work my man!
Thanks Asjad I appreciate it. Let me know how you like it if you end up buying one. Also the Pixel 8 Pro is being announced this week.
People who don't know crap about technology tend to blame the phone. I have the P6P and never have a single issue with it. If you play games for 30 minutes, of course the phone will overheat and drop calls are not because the phone, is the carrier....If you factory reset your android phone after an update, you'll not have any problems.....
Google is doing it big 2 years in a roll. #teampixel 🔥🔥🔥
I have a pixel 6 and am very interested in cameras. Is there an improvement in the cameras in the new pixel compared to the previous one?
I wanted to know too, but instead to compare pixel 6 to pixel 7 in this video, for some reason he compared pixel 7 to iphone 14
Matt, would you recommend me switching to the Pixel 7 Pro, from a S-21 Ultra?
I mean the S21 Ultra is still a good phone. I'd probably wait another year before upgrading to any phone.
@@MatthewMoniz thanks Matthew!
I'm upgrading from my 6 to the 7 as best buy gave me a trade-in worth gold ($480 + $100) in the US.
Also sort of a future proofing if I had to trade-in the 7 for the 8 pro next year ;)
Niceeeee obviously not a massive upgrade BUT you will enjoy how it feels in the hand compared to 6 Pro

I got extremely lucky and found mine on Facebook Marketplace for only $500 in around January.
pixel 6 was my worse choice of gadget especially with that huge price point,
the software keeps lagging, the battery sucked in half a year, phone easily gets heated, the parts are overly pricy to get fixed even pricier than apples , the phone itself keeps lagging over one year
and the whether you like the hardware or not, it’s not that strong or durable , shocking the volume and power button came off wtf
it was a ride using that phone 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
apple always seemed overrated but it’s undoubtedly the best you can have
i would never ever recommend another pixel phone to anyone
After any updates you should soft reset your device or research.

The pixel 4xl is a beast I loved that phone , I switched to the pixel 6pro and I've been happy with it
How is the reception on the P7P vs the P6P? That's my biggest grievance from upgrading to the P6P from the P2 XL -- my reception was a huge downgrade, and it seems to be a common issue with the P6P. Hopefully that was resolved this year!
Is the "magsafe" really that stronger than magsafe? I didn't see anybody else cover this
Bruhh just changed the title to Pixel 7 pro vs iPhone 14 pro.....

I'm happy that pixel got the fundamentals right.
I've had zero issues with my.pixel 6 pro
Could u revisit the 6 pro? I heard from mkbhd and other reviewers dat all or most of those bugs are gone now, is dat true? How good is the battery now?
I think MKBHD already made a video on that I doubt it would get many views if I made the same.

How is the pixel 7 pro now 9 months later?
Should have titled this "Pixel 7 Pro vs iPhone 14 Pro."
Love my G6P! Not giving it up yet! It is incredible!
I have only one question: Pixel 6 pro battery is trash, is the 7 pro and a big improvement? Roughly how much, like 20%
most of the improvements mentioned are just software updates, the extra zoom is at the expense of a smaller sensor and the new visor design is more refined but missing the unique look of the 6
as for actual improvements i guess it would be the AF on the ultrawide and 4k60 on all cameras, which could be a software thing also... and the brighter screen, chances of this even being a minor revision of the same panel are slim to none
Why are you showing anything iphone.. It's supposed to be a comparison between the two pixels

I am one plus 8pro user although the phone is really very good i always wanted a pixel and i am buying 7pro 🥰
