I tried this with chinese fairly recently. Seemed ok but was easily countered with skirms and mangonels. Was a defensive castle rather than a castle drop though as it was 13:35 in game
Why do you need the market instead of just keeps villagers on food? The strat is good, I just don’t see the need to have everyone on hold and a market instead of just keep villagers on food?
This is why my own builds (not youpudding builds) are properly refined and dont rely on market abuse. My romans knights in to scorpions build is a great one
@@MorleyGames1 I’m asking though, what’s the benefit of going all on gold and a market instead of horse collar and farms? I’m new and love Sicily they are all I been playing
There isn’t. Market is worse than a proper build. The market abuse builds are where people havent figured out how to make a proper build for the strat.
@@MorleyGames1 I haven’t played ranked yet but I agree, I tried this and I like my strategy I was doing before (I’m sure it’s not optimal but it feels good). Basically I start dark age exactly the same, except I just do a normal feudal start and drop the donjon first and a blacksmith. Then I just start pumping some Serjeants and harass. Then after a few good harassments I drop a donjon near the enemy base and a stable. Just keep casually harrassing till castle and get a ram. I’m a complete noob but I just love how Sicily functions. The donjon requirement for stables makes me forced to have at least a good defense having a strong tower in my base that can drop spears to counter scouts. And Serjeants are so strong in feudal I can push villagers off resources and stall and get ahead, especially with a few scouts running around as well
8 on wood is actually totally unnecessary after trying this strat myself, you end up floating a lot of wood. You don't really need wood aside from selling it and forward siege workshop, so you're better off putting the extra vills on stone or gold. There's also room and enough wood floating to put them on farms as well, just so you don't have to buy all your food.
Nah it doesn’t. Scouts are the worst thing to do vs FC strats like this. As part of these strats, you wall your vills in at the resources. I climbed from 1250 to 1700 with FC strats (proper ones, not market abuse versions)
@@The_ZenTex oh maybe he doesn’t. I came up with the actual build based off of an old one i made for sicilians. But the concept is the same. I just knew he did a fast castle with this timing where as you pudding has a little bit of feudal aggression.
I have mixed results with it. Those who know to buy up to castle age then buy a castle normally win. Those who don’t get wrecked. It’s no where near as strong as lancer rushing imo
first time I faced it I didn’t know about it, but I was doing lancer rush with mongols and it was absolutely fine.. you just make sure they don’t get donjons up by beating them down with vils!

Wood was due to making siege instead of donjons

i think the imbalance of youpudding comes from the Siege rush
