Just did this last night with Tatars against Persians and it worked out great! Opponent expectedly went scouts and towers and had to give up at 6 CA! I had a great map for it too though

Another question, why do people play the Huns in 2023 when the Magyars exist? Magyars have FU Paladin and Heavy CA with + 1 range.
Huns have a strong indirect eco and military bonus in not needing to build houses. It takes 25 seconds to build a house with one villager and 19 seconds with 2, immediately they save an entire minute of villager work time not needing to build houses and an additional 25 seconds in dark age for an additional house. Additionally they save an additional almost 12 minutes of work time later not needing to build additional houses later on in the game. This, combined with incredibly cheap cavalry archers and an otherwise highly flexible army composition, allows them to basically freely spam out their units incredibly fast without ever having to worry about being pop capped, allowing for focus on other aspects.

that's assuming the game goes late. granted yes Magyars have very good scouts in feudal but I think in castle age is where Huns really shine with faster working stables and cheap CA you can field a very overwhelming army composition of say knights and CA which is pretty gold intensive but still, such a composition is can be very hard to stop cause it almost counter everything

It works but not making houses for 45-50 pop saves you 1000 wood so you can train more ca with that
i tried this and tbh i was decimated by the AI with skirmishers and pikes lol, it probably didnt help it took 20 minutes to get to castle and by the time i had enough CA they were in castle age too and i couldnt find any damage lol owned
just make more ca :D counter units cant ever fight them if you dont want to.

Why do the huns lack Ring Archer armour?
Why not?? What question is that?? The cheapest cavalry archers in the game, fully upgraded would be broken af
bc it would make their CA too good. same for Mongols. Parthian Tactics is designed as an Armor upgrade that applies to CA but not foot Archers/Skirms.
It's the same thing with Goths/Poles. Berbers and Mayans are the only ones who are the odd ones though.
@@srijitmajumder99 Berber and Mayans have a discount, which is a big advantage in midgame but not in max popsituation. which is why they get full upgrades.
