He didn't study opera. He's from an orthodox Jewish family and trained as a cantor. He uses his experiences to write some amazing songs with some very sensetive subjects (inside the fire is incredible for that)
One of my favorites by them but Dave studied opera. He's perfection. He's got a control over his voice that I've never really heard quite the same before. I appreciate that he took his voice and brought it to rock and it shows the influence of different genres on other genres.
Nope, Draiman has said that he wrote this in response to losing his grandfather as a conversation between a man and God. How in the end because of God's actions/inactions He makes the man "... turn away" from him.
The chain of events is actually 3 separate accidents that kill each of the band members. Then the lead singer begins the break down and draws them back from death.
ok ill help you, and your viewers with the real message in this song, and what inspired it. The book of Job is a book in the Bible where God gives the devil free reign over Job's life to do anything he wants, but he must not kill him. in an attempt to make Job turn from God because Job was such a devout man turning him would be a major coup for the devil, and would be a shock to others. God believed in Job's devotion. Basically the normal verses are the devil talking about all the misery, and chaos he creates in your life. just give up and turn your back on God. Which the chorus is essentially his response "oh yea, well this is how I pray. living just isn't hard enough. Burn me alive inside. living my life's not hard enough. take everything away" basically it's an Eff you to the Devil. If a man Prays like that what could the devil possibly ever do to this man to make him turn his back on God.
Songs about being/feeling trapped here spiritually/physically, reveling in the misery now. Prayers gone unanswered, now loving de-gress instead of Progress. 👹👼
You are right we were created free moral agents. We are free to make our own choices. You are one of the few reactors to voice this. I also appreciate your breakdown of the song and the fact that there just wasn't just screaming with no rhyme no reason. Tone and rhythm was kept true throughout. Stricken, the Night, some newer ones Are You Ready, No More, (and acoustic but still gut wrenching) A Reason to Fight, and Hold On To Memories are a few you really should check out.
Got my subscription just from your disturbed reactions..haha Also .. not sure how far you dive into Disturbed and David Draiman.. he also headed another metal band in 2012..releasing one album in 2013.. 'Device' was the name of the band. Industrial Metal
If you do Disturbed 'Hold on to Memories' have tissues close. Haha.. not heavy more 'Dad rock' as they call it..but wonderful as David Draiman always is
He is Jewish and was trained as a priest? I think. He lost a gf to suicide and i think that sent him into a down spiral. Basically hes saying why does God allow suffering.
This was the first song I heard from them when I was twelve. Twenty three years later it's still my favorite band
This is one of my favourite disturbed songs. When im angry at the world this is my go to song

I dig his back ground!

Same here!
Thank you for being non-bias. Great break down of the message. It's a strong message that is so corrupted and misinterpreted.
It's about the book of Job, from what I understand. ...sure take it all away, but the load I carry, is how I pray.

@@GeirGunnarss Yeah he also stated it was about comparing himself to Job.
love the conversation! super interesting!
@@AngryConservative I tried.
I've always heard the book of job reason is there a vid of him saying otherwise?

Thanks I have added them to the list!! appreciate the positive feedback!
I don't think bills and taxes are very important. I'd rather live off the grid in a plastic house.
React to DISTURBED'S. VENGEFUL ONE... ARE YOU READY.... LAND OF CONFUSION...SHOUT LIVE 2000.... * NEW SINGLE * HEY YOU
actually the song was inspired by the book of Job in the Bible... the singer is Jewish, and while he isn't religious, he still believes in God
thank you for the comment! I need to read more of Job
next, try Disturbed- The Light
the light! putting it on the list!

Not a priest. A cantor as was his grandfather before him.
I know a guy who trains dogs... I'm just joking but that interaction was fun to watch lol
